Why is there no love for the slantnose

Old Porches have gone through the roof, 930's, 964's, 993's all seem to command huge prices and in the meanwhile, the slant nose has not appreciated at the same pace, even though it is one the rarest Porches out there.

Thoughts ?

Plenty of love here. Problem is that most of them for sale are fakes with square headlights!

Nice writeup and photos of how the fakes were hacked together here:

I know there are lots of fakes but even the real ones are not going for stupid money compared to some of the other models.

Not sure. I think they're gorgeous! A few months ago I was driving around and saw Snoop Dogg drive past me in a white 1980's 911 Turbo Slantnose Convertible. It was probably one of the rarest Porsches I've ever seen!

The 94' 3.6 Flachbau slantnose has gone through the roof. Jerry Seinfeld just sold for over a million

And this one for 1.1M

Just two years ago they were around $300k

The 87 to 89 505 option slant noses are not even close to these figures, even the 89 with the G50 which is the rarest of them all

All kinds of love here! A real 505 code 930 coupe is still a bucket list car for me. Sadly, current prices will keep it on that list.

Still kicking my own nuts for not pulling the trigger on a triple red real 505 slant nose car about six years ago or so for $45K :eusa_wall:

My guess is a lot of people are not well-informed enough to tell the fakes from the real ones and don't want to make a pricey mistake so they'd rather avoid the model altogether.
