Drag965's Underground Racing DCT Huracan 222mph 1/2 mile **VIDEO**

Recommended Posts

Congratulations and thank you Mohammad for choosing Underground Racing to build your 2015 TT Huracan. This Twin Turbo Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 entered the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile event in NC and on its first shake down pass ever it went 211 mph in the standing 1/2 mile setting a new DCT Huracan record. It only went faster as we began to turn the power up. Some of the other passes in order were 211, 217, 219, 220 and 222. We turned the power up to approximately 1800 whp. This build has a fully built engine with billet connecting rods and pistons. As always the build includes the JRR MoTeC M1 ECU with boost by gear. Something pretty unbelievable is this build is using a stock DCT transmission. We are using the Dodson sportsman clutch cage with our custom clutches. These clutches operate just as smooth as stock. Stay tuned for more videos of Drag965's DCT Huracan.

Things are going to get real exciting over the next year for the Underground Racing DCT builds. ;)

Was the car hitting the rev limiter in the higher gears?

nope

Ah ok, scary how fast the R&D is going of these cars, fairly new and already can hold 2000+ engine horsepower, working with Dodson was a very wise choice considereing what they've done for the GT-R platform.

They have helped. We have done a TON of R&D on our side esp on clutch strategy. The high-power clutches are exclusive to Underground Racing. The material that we use work great with the low line pressure. That along with the stock ECU strategy has the high-power setups working great.

Since you guys ran out of turbo going 222, I assume this car isn't equipped with 71s since there was a 2R that went 225mph on 71s

This was its first time out ever. I wouldnt assume its turbo size or HP since it was probably not dynoed either. Yes codys 2R reached 224 at 1800WHP but that wasnt the first time that car was out at a half mile event...now they have concluded that the clutch can hold more power and a new clutch from dodson that can hold even more should be under way soon as well. SO the future of the DCT cars looks pretty bright to me

What impresses me the most about this red car and the runs is the fact that it seemed to be shifting so smoothly and quick without upsetting the car. And i noticed there was barely any boost applied in the first 2 gears. Moreover it had the stock 20" pirelli tires up front and some R888®s on the rear 20" wheels as well. So imagine 1000WHP, WAY more boost in the lower gears and drag radials plus a prepped surface. We are talking about a true 1/4 mile monster here. If you ever watched UGR´s video when they released the stage 3 DCT packages and saw the street launch control....just wait until the huracans rip from a dig! Man this will be a hell of a platform!

You can't expect same results just because two cars are using similar turbos, just too many factors. When we raced Cody's car we were able to put down a ton more power earlier in the run because we were on grooved concrete. We were less aggressive on the Huracan due to the asphalt. Def was getting some tire spin but was right on the edge of hooking and hazing the tires. Make sense? In 5th-7th we were pretty much all in. Time for more power:)

From what I recall Codys car dynoed 1800 but on the 224 pass we turned the power up past where we had it on the Dyno. I bet we were more like 1900whp in Cody's on the 224 pass.

I understand now, have you guys been able to test the Toyo R888Rs, suppose to hook better than the current 888s

From my experience i can´t tell the difference either. I have driven both. They advertise it having more traction than its predecessor but at 1800WHP+....they are still a 20" size with a very stiff sidewall meant for road course racing and not specialized in straight line accelleration.

Thats where drag radials ultimately come in. And there are some good options which UGR has already tested on the DCT Huracans and R8s at the 1/4 mile. The 19-20" Nitto NT05R has been the best option so far. Even though on a launch with a 1.35ish 60´it as well was on the edge of traction as you can see in the video. If you want a 1.2 60 foot time they might have to switch to a tire with more sidewall eventually. Like a 15-17 Inch radial in the rear. Thats the route the real big HP GTR´s had to go.
