  1. I am reasonably sure it was from a moderator... That's what faked me out. All they got was my email. I should have known better than to assume Lambo owners/enthusiasts were a cut above - my mistake. Won't happen again I assure you. Again, I used my email account thinking I was dealing with equals. Big mistake - Huge. I'm finished here.
  2. I received a PM about becoming a VIP member from someone on this site. When I attempted to respond I inadvertently supplied my email address. Now I am getting garbage email for anything from LASIK to having my roof repaired. This account was reserved for important business( I considered this site as such since I will be spending my hard earned cash to the tune of a half million dollars)... I am really pissed you would allow this to happen! No one else I have ever done business with all the years I have had this account has ever sold my account before. Those responsible are a real piece of work. Thank you
  3. That's great! BTW, since I will be traveling all over Europe visiting many countries maybe I could be of help with parts or accessories, etc- once I get settled? Obviously I will be in Italy more than once since we are buying 2 cars.
  4. I'm planning on talking to techs [in the shop] in Europe just like I do now here for my other supercars. I just think they would be more knowledgeable and more honest "over there." Thanks, btw...
  5. When I get to Europe I'll check it out thoroughly and update here. Thanks
  6. Did anyone state exactly what specific "issues" with the transmission- for instance the syncro rings made from carbon fiber failed? I have pretty much decided best bet is to buy a '13. I'll be in Europe by end of the month and will talk to knowledgeable people there. I had a friend who raced motorcycles in England. When he came here I used to kid him about the fact he drove a Chevy truck. His response was "in the land of the Chevy......"
  7. My son tells me he read the European version has more carbon fiber to lower the overall weight of the car. I read a Motor Trend article recently which stated that the weight distribution was F=45% and the R=55% instead of the other articles stating a more "normal" F=43% and R=57%... This seems to corroborate his version. Anybody have a clue since I am buying a 2012 or 2013 in Europe soon.
  8. Good to know- thanks a lot
  9. So nobody has kept their car or driven sufficiently to have to replace a clutch yet? Secondly, does the ISR transmission shift relatively OK in Strada and Sport under light load [unlike the M6 I drove] that had a terrible lag between shifts unless you floored it [i don't like cars that have insufficient power so you have to floor it]? Some car reviewers hate the ISR. Lastly, what is your opinion on the V12 switching banks every two minutes at light throttle? Does that put stress on the V12 since it was not designed to run as a 6 cylinder or does it make the V12 last longer? I have no clue... Sorry for so many questions but who better to ask than A lovers and owners. I respect your opinions. Thanks, Woody
  10. That makes sense to shift transmission manually to "save" the clutch. I looked at the clutch itself- pretty straight forward. If I had to guess, I believe I can get a year and a half or 15K miles like the tires hopefully. We'll see... Since I'll be traveling all over Europe I'll post interesting photos from time to time here. Thanks for the advice.
  11. Yes, he is a good one! I read most of the 33 pages here and my driving will be very similar to his- daily driver including winter. Thank you.
  12. I preface this Q by stating I realize most A owners drive few miles a year. However, that will not be the case with me. I frankly don't care how much the car depreciates since I do not intend to sell it for at least 5 years and probably not then either. Same with repairs/maintenance- every part or component replaced is one less. But I am curious how long a clutch might last if car is driven carefully [i'm 73 after all]? I know the 599 was kind to clutch wear. Again, thank you.
  13. Thank you to everyone for your prompt reply. That makes life easy then...
  14. Will purchase an Aventador in Europe this winter. My question is am I "stuck" with 2012 coupe if I do not want stop/start or can I purchase a 2014 coupe and disable or code it off? Thank you.
