  1. I can tell you with lots of experience, head gasket issues are common on these engines. It has to do with age and coolant not regually being changed. They will leak along the outside edge first, and not contaminate the oil. If they go long enough, adventually they will contaminate the oil or worse loose the seal at the fire ring resulting in compression getting into the coolant system. The QV engines also use an aluminum spacer plate between the head and block. the bottom side seals against the block with an o ring. After many years this o ring becomes hard and can no longer seal, again resulting in a leak externally but not always into the oil. Hope this answers some questions.
  2. That would probably help. Silver w/ burgundy interior P250, typo 3, usa car. Weber carbed It will not stay in reverse. pops out under load. I alaready know whats wrong. It has sheared the 1st /rev fork bolt. Just never enough time or room at the shop to fix it. Ill post some pics.
  3. Hello to all. An opportunity has come up but to fund it I need to liquidate a couple assets. One being my Urraco. Hate too but...... My question is about what are they worth in todays market. The car is a very nice car. It has two issues. One is big. That being I'm loosing reverse. The other is on the body and this happened prior to me buying the car. The door strapes failed and bent the lip of the door. I just never bothered to fix it. The car under went a complete mechanical resoration in 2004. Mileage then was 4400. It now has 11000 miles and they are original. For those that don't know me I am the lead Lambo tech at Evans, so you know the work has been done correct. I have maintained the car well. Any Ideas its value??????? Thanks Mike
  4. Charles was one of the nicest people you could ever know. He was not only a client of ours at Evans Auto, but he was a dear friend. Him and his wife Janie would always come down to the house whaen they were in town. So much fun to be around. They helped us every year at our Charity car show, The Itailan Gathering, Charles won serveral peoples choice awards with his Blue Roadster and his Rossa Vic Murci Roadster. He will be sadly missed by many but especially this person. My heart goes out To Janie and his family for such a tradgic lose, especially around the Holidays. RIP Charles.
  5. Anyone who recieves LaVita magizine, torwards the back on the coverage of the Itailian Gathering, thats my silver Urraco. I'm somebody now lol
  6. What up Ken. Hows the DD. You finish your inside project yet?
  7. johnmh First question is what clearence did you actually end up with? Lambo recommends .0015, BUT they also have a low/high tolerence for the crank, which is abut .001. So if your in the ballpark of .002-.0025 it will be fine. I have seen many a lambo engine with .003 on the rods and .0035-.004 onn the mains, from the factory. Oversized bearings are available from Lambo and I'm sure other sources, but wehave found in the past that even though they are listed, they are still hard to obtain. Be very careful about getting your crank welded and remachined. If the welding is not done properly the crank will crack and break. Ask Ken QV.
  8. The only thing that is coming to mind is possibly the adjuster for the emergency brake. Its about that size. Does not look like an original piece however. Maybe someones fix?? Does the e-brake work? I'll look at a car tomorrow see if I have any other ideas.
  9. Its hard to say without seeing the whole piece. Whats the other end look like and what are the dimensions? It looks similar to a suspension rod, but doubt it is, they don't just fall off.
