...to order a Huracan in matte colour-shifting paint? Not for everyone's taste but now available through Lamborghini's Ad Personam program.

A Performante in this type of paint will be wild.

Yep I see Mclaaren have also been copying TVR Rephlex paint from the late 90's!

Loved it on TVR's but somehow I can't get away from the citrus colour Lambo's

Saw in person. This color is insanely good and the quality is spot on.

Looks great in my opinion, but what would stop a person from simply getting their car wrapped? I read this paint costs around $40K (don't quote me) which seems absurd given wrapping also protects the paint and you can essentially change it whenever you'd like.

Still.... kudos to Lambo!

I have a few customers that have wrapped their cars in similar color shifts. Makes much more sense to wrap it in this vs. getting it painted, especially if it's 40k.

I think for 95% of owners going the wrap route makes far more sense. Cheaper, more rugged, more flexibility down the road. But, for that 5%, this is more perfect than a wrap will over be. Door jambs, engine bay, trunk, etc... and you end up with a one-of-one (granted, I wouldn't do this EXACT color).

Are any of the exterior panels on the Huracan/Performante or Aventador/SV made of carbon? I think exposed carbon would be an interesting AP route, more similar to what McLaren, Pagani, Koenigsegg are doing. Lambo and Ferrari fall short save for the Centanario bare carbon option.

I love color... the brighter the better... and this is the first time I've ever found myself saying Nooo.

Can't bring myself to go for it. The color shift paints were all the rage back in the 90's and early 2000. You would see it on low riders, ricers and mustangs. Fads come back around. Doesnt mean it looks any better the next time.

Bigger issue... that paint will be impossible to maintain. The normal gloss color shift paint was impossible to match when they got a chip or scratch. Entire vehicle would have to be repainted. The Lamborghini Matte paint is unforgiving as it is. Add another layer of complexity to the mix... it's just asking for heartache. This will be a pricey paint that will have to get wrapped immediately with protective film for any hope to maintain it.
