Does the Diablo have the system where you enter a code through the ignition switch or was that only on the Murcis?

Not a good situation. I know some folks who carry their spare remote with them, just in case the battery fails in the primary one. You can still get spare remotes online and I have the MED key programming instructions if you go that route.

Interesting. Are you saying that i could buy the remote, then program it with the MED key programming instructions? :) Please say YES lol

This has not been my experience. Alarm system must be replaced or shitcan the whole thing and bypass the fuel shutoff valves.

I did not get a second FOB with my car so I had a new FOB ordered direct from Lamborghini and programmed from them. After an extremely long wait I received my new FOB and of course it did not work. I took it to my local stereo shop and they said it was a completely different kind of FOB and no way it would work! Good luck, I have electrical tape holding my original one together

With due respect to Albolfaz, I'm really not sure if this will allow you to buy a replacement remote and reprogram.

It looks like the steps are in doc, but I haven't had to do this myself. I just looked everything up because I thought I'd lost my spare key a a while back and wanted a plan for a plan.

(BTW doc is an exploded book so pages are not in order).

I can see key fobs on Lbostuff and evilbay... (google search, not trying to make AdminGods unhappy :eek3dance: )

I had this exact same issue years ago on one of my 6.0's. I had to buy a new MED alarm system and both fuel cutoff valves as the dealer (and other independent mechanics verified) that the fuel valves "learn" the alarm system and must be changed together. I changed everything then promptly had my mechanic lose one of the fobs. The alarm system is a piece of shit.

In retrospect, I should have shitcanned the whole system and bypassed the fuel valves. If you were able to change just the alarm and not the fuel cut off valves, then more power to you. We tried just the alarm but it wouldn't work until we changed the fuel valves.

Don't buy a remote anywhere else. It will already be programmed and cannot be reprogrammed to your car..

Bring serial number off of Medcode brain on your vehicle and your registration to a Lamborghini dealer. They'll sell you a new remote for a couple hundred bucks, already programmed. Whole systems is like $2500 I think so obviously try to get just the remote. Takes a few weeks to receive from Italy. Good luck.

  • 4 weeks later...
I got a new key/alarm fob for my 6.0 trough Glen (AMH). It worked no issues. I had to provide copy of registration and VIN.

What is Glens contact number please?

^He's a sponsor here. Just check out the column to the right of this page: AMH Parts. I can vouch for Glen, 100% cool guy to deal with and with good prices.
