  1. Limey, The carbon you're looking for is the Signature Lamborghini carbon that was only used on the 6.0 Diablo. It was rendered too expensive for further production so it's life only consisted in the 2001 6.0 Diablo. It is not at all a normally stocked carbon weave as it was custom manufactured for Lamborghini only, so finding it sold "over-the-counter" anywhere globally may not work out. However, I just so happen to have a roll of the authentic Signature Lamborghini material and will email you a break down for what you need, it's very rare, but I can spare you some. I've made a couple of pieces with it and it looks astonishing, check out this rear vent I made for Emilio... Talk to you soon! -Cameron
  2. Kurt and I have spoken on the phone together, if the dispute is between us then let it be so, we have come to an agreement and things will be worked out as we've discussed. I think that his wording is a bit harsh... but as I originally posted, he had to do what he had to do, I am excited to finalize his order and move forward. I will always admit to my faults, and it is obvious that my communication was failing, fast. Thanks to good posts and encouragement, I am diligently working on my communication skills and making sure that I don't repeat the past mistakes over and over again. As far as other customers that are pissed, I really can't think of any. I remember that Ronnie had to wait a while as I was remaking a couple of tools to make the final parts fit better, and he probably wasn't happy about the wait. Paul had to wait an additional week until I could get his order out. I also recall that there was a guy on another forum that mistook me for someone else, it took me a while to find who he was after, but in the end he apologized to me as his dispute with the other individual had been resolved and he was sorry for the misunderstanding and wrongful accusations. Two faults of mine have surfaced here... 1. Communication with customers: I am taking many members advice and am making a serious effort to stay in contact with current and potential clients. 2. Manufacture time: I have connected with new chemical manufactures that sell great quality products that cure a lot faster than what I am using now... switching to their systems should cut down on the manufacturing times. I appreciate this forum and the corrective efforts its members have displayed. I believe this community is a big help with helping others and in that I have been on the receiving end as members have given me some fantastic advice of what techniques have worked for them, and for that, I thank you.
  3. I thank you for your input, it is the learning from our mistakes that makes us stronger. I agree that this is my fault and won't dispute that point. It is clear that I need to find a way to better manage my time, taking the moments away from the work to inform the customer of the progress. Although this concept is a simple one, I have clearly over looked it and will make a point to get back on track. I look forward to continuous improvement, thank you all for your constuctive critisism, I appreciate the strengthening and corrective words.
  4. Kurt is right, our deal has taken far too long. It seemed that this deal was delayed from the beginning, I remember when I first received Kurts parts, I called when they were delivered and found that the shipping company took two weeks (it was lost in transit, then found and delivered). I have had nothing but problems with the order ever since. I made the molds of the intakes and started making the carbon pieces, only to find out later that Kurt wanted the angles of the intake tubes changed, and not like the pieces he sent me. No problem, so I went along to make it as he wished. I cut out the intake tubes of the air boxes and made new tubes which I set in at a different angle. Well, those new tubes must have shifted while curing as they aren't exactly where I had set them, so again I cut out the tubes to make new ones and set them in place and cure them with a correct bond... which is where they stand now, awaiting the new tubes. The heatshields were a complete misunderstanding. I was given dirty factory pieces that seemed to be fraying apart and was told to remake them out of carbon fiber... so I did. I made the molds, used high temp resin, oven cured them and did a basic trim. I figured that they were just heatshields under the car, and the ones he originally sent were pretty trashy, so he was just looking for a replacement carbon shield, no worries. I cleaned up the original heatshields, and sent a package with the original shields, the carbon shields, and the original intakes (so that he could assemble his car and drive it again). Kurt gave me a call to notify me that his package came, I was happy, then he said that the heatshields were not what he was expecting. I didn't understand... then he let me know that he wanted them polished, which I didn't know from the start... if I had, then they would have been polished. He sent them back and that are in the shop right now... they are smoothed out, air brushed, clear coated, polished, and have a high temp ceramic silver heat reflecting paint on the inside. I'll post pictures when I get to the shop later. Hundred dollar heatshields that cost almost four hundred to manufacture. Intakes with design changes mid way that have given me nothing but problems, with prototyping costs that have me way upside down on this deal. Basically, this deal had taken far too long and I understand why Kurt is pissed. I've had to let go of one of the main employees in the shop due to problems, and the other guy has been out for a while... It's basically my wife and I, busting our backs trying to get everything worked out by ourselves, only to come and find that there is a thread on this forum that is completely ripping apart our efforts. I was not very readily available yesterday, I was at my wires ceremony for her dental accomplishments... Paul happened to get through just as I was getting to the destination. I got your calls Kurt and other members, I literally couldn't answer them, and by the time everything was wrapped up, it was a bit late to be calling everyone back. I am pleased to hear past customers voice. Bottom line, progress is slow but progressing. I'm actually going to be switching resin systems that cure a bit faster in hopes to speed up production. I don't appreciate the way you've hung me out to dry Kurt, it's childish and makes me wonder why I stay up until midnight at times trying to get your pieces finished just to be slandered like this, but given the situation, I guess you had to do what you had to do... I'll call you in a bit.
  5. To all: The carbon Lambo script proved to not be time or cost effective. The exact carbon reproduction looked alright, but the depth of the factory letters allowed for too much distortion, to the point that you couldn't really tell it was carbon. I then produced another cast copy of the script and milled down the backside to make it thinner... this in turn was a better finish, but it was too thin and not strong enough. In the end, I had to come to the realization that the prototyping costs involved thus far exceeded the potential profits, so the project was laid to rest. Emilio is being reimbursed for the cost of the script. The key FOB had a similar outcome. I made a duplicate of the key and began prototyping from all of the emails you guys were sending. I tried making the carbon in two pieces that would clip on to the rim of the key... the problem with that however was that there wasn't a suffecient surface for the carbon to clip onto. I then made a one piece design that would slide over the the entire key FOB, but then once it was all trimmed so that the key would still function, all is the curved strength had been removed, causing the end user to have to use an adhesive to bond the carbon piece on, which defeated the purpose of a slip on cover, not to mention what you would have to go through if the battery went dead. The key is being returned back to Russell. I can now better understand why these smaller items usually don't come in carbon, and also why they look cheap when produced. I just don't feel comfortable putting my name behind a product that I know is going to break. Larger panels, engine trims, interior components... no problem, but these tiny detailed pieces just aren't cost effective to manufacture.
  6. Jeff, Thank you for following up with this... as it stands, the project is moving forward very well. I was away for the past few days on business and had the guys in the shop working on other panels, so unfortunately the script didn't get touched, but now I have returned, so all is well. In regards to the rear script: I have taken a silicon mold of it and have made a duplicate by injecting the silicon with liquid plastic. The process and techniques are flawless, but I am not satisfied with the end results. Although many probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference... I am going to take the time to change a couple of details. In regards to the front emblem: I designed how I am going to make it and how I will pull the looks together. It is going to be carbon fiber and 23k gold. I currently do not have an emblem to work off of, so if there are any Lamborghini dealer parts reps here that can get the discounted dealer pricing for me, please send me a PM. In regards to the Key FOB: Russell was very generous in sending me his spare LP640 key fob. I made a silicon mold of that key and then injected it with liquid plastic. I like how the silicon captures the details so that I have a duplicate of the original key to work off of. I made a couple of "trial" covers but those made their way into the trash container. The key may have to wait a little longer as I draw up different designs. I will keep you all posted. Thanks again to all of you for your interest, I am hoping to turn out a couple of prototype pieces for your viewing pleasures and then get these scripts sent off to all those interested. Best regards, -Cameron
  7. Update for all... The key came from Russell a few days ago. I made a two part silicon mold of it and did a liquid plastic injection. So now I have the OEM key (Russell's) and a 100% exact solid plastic, non functioning, clone key. I will be prototyping the carbon cover off of the plastic key I made so that I don't damage the OEM piece. Once I have it all dialed in and detailed, I will be test fitting it onto the OEM key so all of you can see how it fits and functions. The "Lamborghini" 8 inch (Gallardo and Murcielago) rear Script arrived today from Emilio. I will be making a silicon mold of that in the next day or two, then inject it with plastic, and make any slight modifications that are needed, then make the final tooling so that I can produce the carbon pieces that you are all anxious to get a hold of. Everything is moving forward very well in the shop, please feel free to send me a PM if any of you have any questions. I'll give another update once some more progress is made. Best regards, -Cameron
  8. A queston for all of you interested in the front "bull" emblem... I have been studying this piece over the past couple of days and have engineered just about every way to make this piece happen, but I am left with questions that only you guys can answer... How do you want it to look? I'm thinking of enlarging the Bull and centering it in the middle of the badge, this of course will take away the "Lamborghini" text at the top. The badge would be nice and smooth and the enlarged bull would be 3 dimensional, similar to that of the factory piece, only larger. Are you guys looking to keep all of the gold and just have the black background carbon, or are you wanting a full carbon emblem like described above? I'm not exactly sure what it is that you're looking for, so before I can move forward with the engineering of this piece, I'll need some direction. PLEASE *PM* ME YOUR THOUGHTS (so we don't fill up this thread with answers and suggestions) Thanks, -Cameron
  9. Carnut1, Good question! The problem is that it has never been done before. You see, my pieces are solid carbon fiber, not overlays, wraps, or anything of the sort. I've seen the vent sets (of 5) for sale ranging from $1,100 up to $1,700... and they aren't even actual carbon fiber vents!!! That is an extremely high price to pay for a factory vent that has just been taken apart and had carbon laid over the front face of it, and then reassembled. And then you'd have to pay a core charge or send your factory pieces to them... that is ridiculous. All of my pieces are solid carbon, factory replacements. If you ever want to go back to stock, you simply remove my carbon piece and reinstall your original factory piece, its that simple. When I get the vent in from Jeff, I'm going to completely disassemble it, take molds of every component and detail, and then reconstruct the vent out of solid carbon fiber. The pieces I create are lighter, stronger, and will still fit and function just like a factory piece. From body panels to the smallest of accents, I make sure I offer the strongest, lightest carbon product at the best price. I'll keep you updated with how much the set will cost to make them. As always, I'll do my best to keep my prices low. Best regards, -Cameron
  10. Note: I am going to have to look over that front "bull" emblem... but honestly, I haven't yet found a part that I can't remake out of solid light weight carbon... so I'll keep you posted on this particular piece. Also, I am connecting with Jeff SD and he is going to lend me one of his air vents off of his beautiful Gallardo Spyder so that I can remake those too. I can not stress enough that my pieces are solid light weight carbon, so when I make the vents, they will be 100% carbon (not overlays or carbon wraps) and still fit and function just like the factory piece. Are the Gallardo vents the same as the Murcielago? 11. MnM, I can assist you with your carbon 560 needs. I'll send you a PM and we can discuss how I can be of assistance. The list is growing which is a great thing, I am glad that I can help everyone in customizing their Lamborghini's, please PM me or email me if there is anything I can help you with. On topic to the "hood emblem" bull... I'm going to have to look that one over, as there are many parts that I would have to consider... I'll see what I can do! Best regards, -Cameron
  12. Emilio, Thank you for spreading the word about what I can offer this community... you are a great friend! Here's to my first post on this forum... TO ALL: My pieces are solid carbon fiber (not wrapped). I recreate every mount on the back of every piece to ensure that my pieces fit in the factory location perfectly. I only use the best aerospace grade composites, resins, and materials to produce the highest quality pieces available. I pay attention to every detail and book match my carbon pieces so that the left side mirrors the right side. In finishing my carbon pieces after trimming, I prepare the carbon, apply a UV clear coat, and polish each piece to have an everlasting brilliant shine, just like the factory paint. I am an Aerospace Certified Composite Engineer Tech III and a PPG Certified Automotive Refinish Technician. I absolutely love these vehicles and am here to help, in any way that I can! I am located in southern California USA and as I am starting out in building an inventory of pieces, I'll offer free installation of my pieces to anyone near by. I am currently building inventory of Gallardo and Diablo pieces... and am looking to expand to the Murcielago as well (I offer great pricing for first time parts, please PM me if you have a Murcielago or Gallardo and want to get flawless carbon at an absolutely great price). Lamborghini Rear Script: In regards to the Lamborghini script rear emblem... it is going to be a factory replacement piece, fitting in the same location with the same mounting as OEM. All of my pieces are hand made and very light weight, I do not cut corners and only produce pieces that exceed OEM finish and fitment. This emblem is going to look absolutely amazing, and to tie it into your Lamborghini properly, I would like to match the carbon of my emblem with the factory carbon used, I have every carbon material available... even the Signature Carbon with the blue strand that Lamborghini had custom made just for the 6.0 Diablo! Diablo 6.0: 3K 692 2x2 KBTW Carbon (with the blue kevlar strand) Gallardo: 3K 284 2x2 TW Carbon Murcielago: 3K 282 PW Carbon Please let me know what Lamborghini you would like your emblem made for so that I can match your factory weave. Key Fob: I am not sure how that key is assembled, but I know I am not going to recreate the entire thing in carbon... that is just ridiculous, haha. If there are any removable covers (over the battery might be the only one), I can make those... or if you'd like, I can actually make a solid piece that would slide over the entire key and lock itself on (without adhesives). The cover would be removable (if one needed to replace the battery), and would allow the key to still be fully functional, very sleek, and have a high gloss carbon finish. Let me know what you all want to do. Russell, I appreciate your helping out the cause... with that key, I would be able to make an exact copy of it (without harming it of course) and engineer different prototype possibilities for making carbon pieces for it. Best regards, -Cameron
