I have a question about the rear engine cover/bonnet. If i wanted to replace the carbon engine bonnet for a transparent one does the whole thing need to be replaced or does each individual slat come out from the main bonnet?

(SV Roadster)

It is possible but you need to consider a few things: carbon or glass, those parts were originally glued on. It would be an absolute PITA to remove them and you are risking possible damage to the bonnet itself. Those who had done it have indicated that either dental floss or a thin piece of wire would work best. Just be prepare to pay $$$ for the labour. And aesthetics being one thing and it's your car of course but wouldn't substituting the carbon with glass actually adds weight to the car --- which somewhat defeats the purpose of a SV?

I meant to say its the Matte black plastic not carbon, not sure if its glued down as well. We looked at it today and seams doable by just removing the mounting brackets and swapping it with the glass mounting bracket and glass pieces. I would do it myself but don't want to damage anything so taking it to a shop that has done similar modifications before.

^They should be glued down regardless of materials used. You can actually get the adhesive as a part from the factory. Installation is relatively easy. It’s removing the existing pieces that’s challenging.

the glass tops are for sure a better look as long as the swap out is seamless cosmetically especially for resale purposes. There is a lot of heat generated in this area so if any gluing or otherwise that is not perfect it will show up. That being said a Lambo shop tech should be able to get this done....
