05LSV Report post Posted June 30, 2017 I'm getting serious about the Huracan now, and have found a few nice 2015 cars. If the car hasn't been tracked (and thereby abnormally worn the brakes and tires), can I assume that a sub-10k mileage car that's still under factory warranty is pretty bulletproof? No need to check on clutch wear with the LDF dual clutch is there? So really it's just check the service records, check brakes and tires, and make sure the car is in the cosmetic shape that you want, and you're good to go? What am I missing? 05LSV Report post Posted June 30, 2017 Okay so I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't think about a PPI for the purpose of revealing whether or not a car has had paintwork or been in an accident, and also how many times a car has been launched. Is there anything else I'm missing? I'm fine doing a PPI for sure, I was just looking for some real justifiable reasons which would safeguard the purchase. shipwreck Report post Posted July 8, 2017 I would do a PPI for peace of mind and documentation. However, I didn't do a PPI when I bought my Huracan because Lamborghini Houston wouldn't do it. They said they would perform the same inspection they would on a vehicle being traded-in, but don't do "pre-purchase inspections". The car only had 800 miles on the odometer when I bought it, so I figured I was pretty safe. So far, so good, all smiles *knock on wood*. ibglobal Report post Posted July 10, 2017 Depends on where you're getting the car from, owner, miles... I don't think all cars need a PPI if its a low mile car from a reputable dealer with 1 owner its safe but thats just my opinion. Andrew R. Report post Posted July 11, 2017 A PPI is always a good idea! You want to make sure you understand the issues the car has, even if small.
STEEVE1234 Report post Posted July 13, 2017 Get a PPI. It might have an accident and the accident might not show up in Carfax.
IanMan Report post Posted July 13, 2017 ALWAYS GET A PPI, no matter how new or how reliable the car is known to be. You'd be amazed at what could come up. I've made the mistake twice of not getting a PPI and I regretted it both times.
