Has anyone actually dyno'd their A before and after exhaust?

I have ready countless and endless threads by members and most say "oh i am going to dyno the car before and after" etc and it seems like nothing ever materializes. I have yet to see a single dyno or hint that exhaust did anything. Honestly, i am not so worried about gaining power (which would be great) but more worried about loss of hp/tq. The car can sound great and all but whats the point if you end up losing power and/or tq.

I will be in the market for an Aventador in the next few months and have been researching exhausts and the only company that has any claim that seems to remotely back it up with a dyno is Capristo. Although they just flash "739 PS" without actually showing a before and after dyno. I do love the sound of the Powercraft and Kreissieg the most but someone unknown from south florida told me that when they dyno'd a customers car that had a Powercraft it lost a good amount of power. I dont care how great an exhaust sounds if it loses power in the process.

This is not meant to be a dis, but blows my mind that someone would drop $10k on an exhaust but not spend another $200 for a dyno lol

Anyone that has any concrete info would love to hear your experience.

Would you consider having the shop that built the headers for your Murcie do something custom for the Aventador?

Stay tuned for my thread coming up!!!

I dynoed my car last week totally stock for a baseline.

My car is at the local dealer getting the factory race exhaust and tune done .

I will drive the car for a couple days and let the Ecu adjust and then re Dyno on the same Dyno.

I will be posting videos , pictures and both Dyno graphs.

In the spirit of this thread shouldn't you get a tune after the new exhaust to go with the new exhaust? I know for intakes less restriction helps hp but really without any ECU change do bolt on exhausts really change he hp much? Isn't it more complex than just straight pipes? Don't you need to think about back pressure and maybe changing the air fuel mixture to go with different outflow?

Absolutely. They did an amazing job and something every other shop said hasn't been done and won't result in anything and i got 70whp from headers and another 25whp from tune from EvoMS. So when the time comes i will have them look at the car to see what they think. Dwight, looked at the stock headers on the LP640 and in 2.5 seconds was like "god these look horrible" very short runners, unequal lengths, very sharp and obtuse angles pretty much everything you don't want lol. He did explain that obviously this was done for packaging so they can be installed and taken off with relative ease but definitely not for function.

You are the man! please please don't forget to go thru and post results. I see so many of these similar posts and it just fades with no follow up. What exhaust and tune did you get? Did you keep the cats or went with test pipes?

Oh I won't forget lol. I'm very interested to see the results myself .

I went with the race exhaust and Ecu tune from the factory. They claim 8-10percent power increase. We will see shortly , I'm picking the car up in a few hours . Really can't wait to hear it

Love the factory exhaust sound if it does what it claims. Hell even at low end of 8% that is 50hp increase which would be amazing. I assume since you went with factory then you kept the cats? What did the car put down stock?

Yes I kept the cats . I put down 531awhp on a heart breaker all wheel Mustang dyno.

I will be using the same dyno with same operator for the after dyno .

We did 4 pulls for a baseline and they were all within 1hp of each other and traced the exact same graph line . Very consistent

Oh god, that is a heart breaker lol. The couple of Aventador dynos i have seen are in the 590-630awp range. That dyno is one stingy bastard lol. All that matters is the difference between before and after.

Yea exactly I only care about the before and after results.

I used the same type of Dyno as this guy in this video who got 545awhp

And here is my baseline Dyno video

They say my numbers corrected for a dynojet would be around 620awhp

Oh now I see. You are on a DynoDynamics setup. Those are way stingier than a mustang dyno. Makes sense why it's ready so low but should very predictably tell you any improvement.
