  1. After UFI, K+N and now BMC's ($108 from Fast by Ferracci) the BMC's are the only ones which needed time to finesse them into the carbon but are the only filters which made a noticeably positive difference.
  2. Dealt with Plaza like 7 yrs ago for the Murci and had no problems buying it sight unseen. Even when I noted some stress cracks in the rotors and other minor issues upon delivery they gave me the 15k I requested. Since then they've moved and may not even be the same owners.
  3. I like the Fumato Valve for the tank but not as comfortable with it for the sump.
  4. "Yeah, KDW or Rosso are the only options for AWD." Yes and distributors are not sure they will ever see BFG KDW's again. Only BFG Rivals.
  5. Tires are a problem. I had many Pirelli Rossos and do not like them. No warning at all before they let go. Have BFG KDW fronts and the distribution industry including Tire Rack cannot say when or if they will ever get rears. Michelin doesn't make fronts in PS2's and rears in Super Sports. It looks like I will mix BFG KDW in the front and get the BFG Rivals for the rear for now as they are due 5/30/2014. Unless someone tells me I will be stupid to mix the front and rears as I am also not buying Corsas if they ever surface again. BTW I'm RWD-never going back. Now I'm reminded of our problem with getting Magneti Marelli coils until Whiteout Nick fixed that for us. Excellent option. Better in every way. Nick, can you mix up some rubber this weekend and fix this for us too?
  6. IMO the Sears Die Hard Platinum at around $200 is the best battery for the Murci-better than any other including Interstate. Explored Brain and the BS Optima and though it is heavy as Nick states at over 50lbs it has incredible reserve and, of course, the car SEEMS, to run better with it as well. Plus I have never had to use a Tender. In this outrageously cold winter I turn off the mains after each run and even after not being used for a few weeks it starts like a summer day.
  7. This is a great thread and so timely. Thanks to all for your posts and downloads for even as I have the manuals this gets me exactly where I need to go w/o searching. Spring is coming despite waking to 16 degrees these past 2 mornings there is maintenance to do. Mine is an '03 Rosso Andromdeda w/63K miles and I just replaced the coils thanks to Nick (Whiteout) and what a dramatic difference. That coupled with Nick's trans cover to effectuate the RWD conversion at the end of last season have made this a whole new car. Picked up a set of used cats also as I was getting the CEL but it seems that the coils solved that problem and I will not touch them. Thank you once again, Nick. Now I'm slipping and sliding all over below freezing roads and loving it in RWD. Will never go back and will do some track sessions again to get re-acquainted with the car. First, rebuild leaking left, front shock, then replace the bent connecting link on the same side that must have gotten damaged when I broke the front stabilizer which I replaced a few months ago. Then all the fluids, especially brake which hasn't been touched since the big Brembo front brake install about 5 yrs ago. I think I'll even do the cabin filter or is that a waste of time/$? Got 2 BMC air filters from Fast by Ferracci a few months ago for $110 for the pair that I will now install now that the Murci seems to be running spectacularly. What a great price and why they had them...? Enjoy yourselves, boys. It's going into the 40's here in NJ today and I've got some work to do. Also great thanks to JonV for his expert insight and advice.
  8. Just ordered from Jim Ellis Audi Parts in Atlanta for $18.36 + $7.97 shipping to NJ. It's an Audi part that no dealer in the US has except for Ellis. It's for a European A2
  9. All this "cat" talk has got me remembering the CEL/CAT light I was gifted with toward the end of this past NJ summer. Initially that would only happen on hard runs through the mountains but then would appear periodically with highway driving. A necessary shift in priorities kept me from my '03 Marci these past few months but upon a maintenance start this past weekend and getting that sulphur smell I realize I have to get back to the issue of my primary cats (LOC exhaust which deletes the secondary cats) which I'm sure are shot. Can't get too upset the car has just over 65,000 well used miles. Within the next 2 weeks I hope to get the opportunity to gut the primaries and if the sound is too rude will look to find used primaries or the Fab Speed Sport Cats for $2600 but hopefully less. https://www.fabspeed.com/lamborghini_murcielago.html Has anyone experienced these Fab Speed options or as another person who has mentioned a cat company named Gesi? As with all Fab Speed products I'm sure the build quality is great but I'm trying to get an idea of the change in sound quality and levels versus the gutted primary cats I will soon have and the difference between a fully working stock primary. Thanks gents and a happy and healthy New Year!!! -Robert PS: And when I get the cats sorted out I will be ordering Nick's (Whiteout) coil kit. I'm certain that will make a great difference as I've already been impressed with the quality and artistry of his work on the trans cover I ordered from him for the 4 to 2 wheel drive conversion I did right before the cat problems surfaced this summer. PPS: I will never go back to 4wd. 2 is better in oh so many ways.
  10. Congrats! It is beautiful and the Murci is always has a dramatic physical presence especially with the doors. Very interested in your drive evaluation vs. the Gallardo.
  11. Thanks Donzi. Anything will help. That's 4 mounting points per side or 4 total for the 2 sides?
  12. I did not get a template with my wing, only directions which are too generic without any positioning or dimensions data and a person with LP Performance in Japan has told me that there is no template which is strange. I was going to locate the wing further up as was noted by Jon. Is this the LP Version 1 wing with 3 mounting points on each side? My small notebook didn't reveal the carbon fiber you have. Mine is fbg hence the easier decision to paint it the body color. I like the carbon look too though after seeing mine painted the body color, Rosso Andromeda and positioned on the car, I like that just as much.
  13. Thanks again Jeff and Nick (Whiteout) for the great info. Donzikid, that is the wing though mine has been painted the body color, Rosso Andromeda. I'm not getting to the install until next week as I've been besieged with contractors, architects and interior designers on a gut renovation that I have been having to attend to. I will post the results immediately upon installation some time next week.
  14. Thanks very much for the info Jeff. Will do the deed tmw. So removing just the rear deck won't get me the access I need? And conversely, to remove the taillights I need to remove the deck? Deck removal is 2 fasteners as last I remember doing it 5 yrs ago? Want to get this done for a visit to Michael Fux's residence this Saturday 6/22/2013. This is a much anticipated day to one of the most prolific high end automobile collectors in this country and I want a different look this visit. Any Google query will give you a good idea as to the man's passion for the art and science of the automobile. Will post pix next week.
  15. Picked one up on eBay, it's now painted the Rosso Andromeda body color of my 2003 Murci and I will now install. To do this install do I need to remove the rear deck/spoiler AND the taillights? This wing will mount to the rear quarters. What is the best way to remove the deck and/or the taillights if necessary. The mounting kit(no instructions) does not have a backing plate which I think should be mandatory. I will fabricate something for that purpose but ask help in answers to the above to make the job easier with no mistakes. Only thing I don't like is drilling into the carbon fiber. Hell after more than a few summonses I'm still not drilling for a front license plate bracket but I will drill for this wing. Thanks for any help you can provide in the above regard. -Rob
