Picking up a Ghost

Here is how erratic my logic is.....my Performante was supposed to be delivered in time for Monterey....delayed.

So now I'm driving up the Murcie SV in one of the rallies. Wife drove up last year with me in my Murcie roadster and vowed she wasn't gonna drive up again in discomfort. She got a plane ticket to Monterey, flight later got canceled. Her friend and others want to go up together in comfort and luggage. We decide to trade our Bentley GTC (back seats suck) for a RR Ghost. Wife now happy.

I need new wheels for this car....any suggestions?

I have a wheel guy I can hook you up with. He's on the west Coast so may be pretty quick transaction for you. I just put these on my QP. 22" Matte Bronze

That logic isn't erratic at all. Makes sense actually. Great car choice by the way, I love the Ghost. Nice thing about Rolls product, it looks fantastic with aftermarket wheels. Interested to see what route you go with it.

I recently put 22"s on my Ghost and would not suggest going any bigger like those who run "24s. Wheels just depend on your taste. I went with Vossens on mine.

I like Vossen - had them on my Bentley.

Quick review, I'm in Monterey for car week and my wife drove up the Ghost with her friends. They absolutely love it. It exudes luxury, comfort and elegance. We drove it to the RR party and felt right in.

I did get a chance to drive it a bit and if I had one word to describe it would be "floaty." It just feels like driving on a cloud. The suspension is supersoft and comfortable...a bit too soft for my taste but if the wife loves it then I am good.

I would like to test drive the Black Badge to see if the suspension feels any tighter.

I wonder if changing the wheels, especially if you getting a bigger size would ruin the ride? We passed A driving it as we left Quail. Car looked great and she looked quite happy.

The changing of the wheels to 22" doesn't necessarily affect the ride all that much, though due to tire constraints, the noise from the tires are just slightly noticeable. You could almost say that the ride is just a tiny bit stiffer as well but you will still be on the smooth side of things. Remember if you go 22"s the Pirelli Scorpion SUV tires are your only choice (as I came to understand it). Also my car isn't lowered yet so not sure how it would ride afterwards. I'll report that when I get around to it.

I also come from drivIng the harsh and stiff 2 doors but I have to say, and this maybe due to aging, the Ghost has won me over.
