Will a bolt on TT Huracan take a 720s?

I have seen a few completely stock McLaren 720s trap 140-145mph depending on conditions and a ~ 5.1-5.3sec 60-130mph which is god damn impressive for a car putting down 690whp. I still don’t get it how it does it lol. Can a Stage 1 Huracan on pump putting 800-850whp take it ? And what does a Stage 1 trap or do 60-130 ?

I saw a vid of that green supercharged Huracan get beat by Fikse.

A supercharged def can’t get it done and I have seen the same

Video. A supercharger is putting down 700whp reliably and 720s weighing 300-400lbs lighter with kick ass aero already putting down 690-700whp destroys is as we witnessed. A turbo tuned properly making 850whp should it get it done.

The 720S ran an 800whp TT Huracan and it was very close... 850WHP should be enough to pull the 720S...

I do remember that video but I think UGR commented that the sound was obvious that DCT was either slipping or not tuned properly after the TT setup and how a “properly tuned” 800whp Huracan should not

Have an issue.

a well built bolt on TTH should have no problem walking the 720. but as we all know lots of fast food kits out there.....

I’ve got an Underground Racing bolt-on turbo kit (stock motor w/ upgraded clutch, stage 2) on my Huracan. Makes ~850whp @ 8psi on 93 octane. I’ll volunteer my car for the comparison, just need to find a 720S in the Houston area.

I ran a 60-130 in 4.9 secs in my bolt on TT Huracan on my first and only try, on a near flat road, in sport mode, on street tires. I am pretty sure it will go 4.7 in track mode.

Even if it does beat a 720s, the real question is how does the mclaren need 150 less wheel horsepower to basically achieve the same results as an 850 whp huracan. Both are twin turbos. Assuming the mac would dyno around 700 whp and the lambo would be at 850 whp.

The 720s I have seen dyno’d in the 680-690whp range so def under rated. Sure as hell making more than 720 advertised. I can’t think of anything but lower weight and better aero. I mean laws of physics aren’t being changed here. 720s weighs about 3050lbs wet and standard Huracan weighs 3450. Add another 100lbs for turbos etc and now we are talking about a 500lb difference. Add aero and I am sure that is where the difference lies.

I agree with WEIGHT difference. Not much if anything to do with aero on the 720s. Smaller turbos, low end power band optimized with more boost to get to 700whp vs bigger turbos with little boost to get 800-850hp on a huracan. Smaller turbos will be more efficient with low end power.

In terms of weight, Mclaren is around 3160lbs according to:

http://www.motortrend.com/news/2018-mclare...st-test-review/

https://www.caranddriver.com/mclaren/720s

The Huracan weighs even MORE. Depending on options, its up to around 3600lbs without turbos.

Same weight same power, the cars would be nearly the same.

Soooo....you (on the lowest setting) vs Fikse on the abandoned streets of central flor....errr, Mexico. Should settle it all. Unless the turbos on S3 are appreciably bigger than bolt one (spool time).

we did it, not even close from a roll... a 1/4 mile run would be interesting though....

A bolt on Huracan TT built by UGR... I firmly believe is going to walk a stock 720.

Even though I would imagine the 720 has variable geometry turbo's and may make boost more quickly. When the Huracan gets into the power (3000 ish RPM ) it is going to be game over.

The 720 is an amazing machine. And for a stock auto, its even more impressive. But at the end of the day, the Huracan is going to come out on top.

Nicks stage 3 Huracan on its lowest setting beat FikseSTS 720 with no prob. Nick gave the 720 a big hit and drove right around it. They have a video but it will prob never be posted. UR Bolt on would do the same thing.

Not sure what is lowest setting is, will have to look it up when I get back to the office unless Nick chimes in.

The lowest setting at that time was 5psi to 6psi then to 10psi in higher gears on the lowest map. The first couple gears is pretty low hp and in my opinion was about the same speed as the 720s, at 10psi it starts walking the 720s. At 15psi on pump gas, it makes 1150whp so theres some backwards math for you to figure out.

Huracan TT at 5psi-6psi about the same as 720s hp

Huracan TT at 10psi walks 720s

Huracan TT at 1150hp and 15psi on pump it runs away. This is a high 15Xmph to 16Xmph 1/4 mile trap.

Huracan TT on 109 gas is about 25mph faster in the 1/4 mile trap speed if that tells you anything.

Great info.

So are we saying that a bolt on stage 1 TT makes 5-6psi and then would be same as 720s? I am assuming that a bolt on has different tubro sizes compared to Stage 3 as well which is one of the reason i really wanted to see a comparison with a true bolt on that doesnt have head work, bigger turbos etc.

Stage 1 makes MORE power than my lowest boost setting and the stock motor has highe compression motor. All you need to look at is the 60-130mph times which is readily available to measure.

All you need to know is what a 720s makes which is a low 5 second pull. A Huracan TT on high pump gas goes in the high 3’s.

Sounds good, we’ll try to set something up. Thanks.

I love that we have to compare a 720S to a modded Huracan with 150 more HP. Wonder what would happen if they tuned a 720S. I guess we will see when they come out with the LT version of it someday.

Tuned 720s from DME made 766whp and went 9.5 in FL. Fiske has a vid on Yt
