Posting for a friend that can't create an account on here due to the issue with the Captcha:

fellow murciemen and women,

need your help.

was driving my 09 yesterday and drove it for about 10 miles when it decided to die on me. luckily i pulled into a parking lot.

had to get it towed home-

battery shows power- i also recharged it overnight and same result.

car ignition comes on, it tries to turnover but is not able to.

any advice?

thanks

Try a new battery anyways. I believe murci’s have a bus fuse by thw on off switch. That may be corroded. Check for good connectivity with starter etc.

Yeah, never hurts to throw a new battery in and certainly check the fuses. It is in Neutral right? Sometimes when they get weak, they can't shift to Neutral themselves to start.

When you say "tries to turn over but cant" do you mean the starter engages the engine and it moves but not enough to crank or do you mean it seems as the engine is seized?

When it died did it come to a stop with the engine turning or did it lock up?

would still be best to put a new battery in and try as that has worked on many strange situations in a murcy.

sorry maybe the wrong verbiage-

its trying to turnover but does not seem like its getting gas or something.

thanks guys, i sent it to a local shop in Houston that knows these cars so waiting to see what they figure out. so far they have changed the battery and no luck, then they ordered a part which will take 5 days to get here but they are not sure if this will fix the situation.

are these cars just a mystery or something?

keep your ideas coming! last time my buddy had a problem with his lp, i found the answer on the forum and told him and he went and told the dealer that was fixing it and thats how the dealer figured it out!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Did the diagnostics turn up any "pending" error?

Could be the phase sensors problem. When they fail, the ECU will cut all ignition and that's like total fuel cutoff instantly (not gradually).

Aka, the airbag.

The Murcielagos have weak 'clock springs' in the steering wheel that provides the contact to the airbag, if someone tried to adjust the steering wheel while the car was 'on' or 'running' that brief break in continuity in the airbag connection when the telecoping steering wheel is moved/adjusted sets a code, that can ONLY be removed with a TRUE Lamborghini diagnostic computer with the airbag module wire.

Ask me how I know... lol... LITTERALLY HOURS BEFORE I sold my 2006 Murcielago, I had the NEW owner test driving the car, and I said 'lets adjust the steering wheel to your likeing' Car was running... SRS light triggered, and he looked at me like 'whats wrong with this car' lol.... fortunately I swore to him it had never happened before, and that I'd call my lambo tech (official one), and the lambo tech not only diagnosed the problem but also helped us to resolve it (since obviously he has the real computer), and 2 years later, and the problem has never reoccurred.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENTS, DO THEM WHEN THE CAR IS OFF !!!!

(You may not have made the adjustment, but the shop you took it into may have)

I had the light come on recently, and an independent here in Houston with the "Galileo" system was able to turn the airbag light off. So you don't need the official system to do that.

Hi. I am showing the OBD fault code for the crankshaft position sensor is P0336. I am just curious was a check engine light displayed for this code? Was the fault diagnosed via an OBD II reader?
