Will I regret this in the morning?

So I am giving serious consideration to finally parting ways with my 2007 MANUAL LP640 coupe in Monterey blue...

I have owned it for over 6 years now and it currently has 47K miles on the clock (bought it with Roy's help with about 30K miles) and have babied it since then.

I have someone offering me what I think is fair money and so I am contemplating make the move to a LP640 Roadster (not manual...)

Thanks.

I would't do it for murci to murci.. but it's a good time to clock out and take profit if you have some.

I dropped my '03 6-speed in monterey blue off this morning for service. The A/C was one item needing work, so it hasn't been driven in quite a while. I really love the stick compared to paddles in my other cars; I'm not sure if I'd be able to let it go. I do get you on the topless aspect though, I have a gallardo spyder for that, but every time I drive it I miss shifting.

What kind of numbers are you anticipating? I have no clue what mine is worth at this point as I've had it nine years; maybe if the right number was thrown my way I'd be less attached too lol.

I'm pretty sure everyone is going to tell him not to sell it. IT IS after all a stick LP640, which I cant remember the numbers, but its something like 27 in the US? or 27 in the world? or 47? I cant remember, but we all know its ultra rare.

OK so that said, BEFORE the price hike occurred roughly what 2-3 years ago? I would NOT have taken a stick over a e-gear, even my old posts indicated this. BUT what I would do, is take the money and run. If he has the chance to 'profit' on the increased price of a manual, but get himself BACK into a murci with CASH in his pocket....I'd do it.

Here is why, I sold my 06 murci and said I'd never own another, then after 6 months without one, I was DYING to get back into one. So I did... obviously. Now fast forward to about 6 months ago, I thought about selling my murci for a performante……… which I was advised on here NOT to do that.... and you know what, they were right... I see performantes and regular huricons (barely can tell them apart) in my town (yes we have a mixed bag of bout 10 right now in the area) and we usually attend some of the same 'car shows' or car events... and you know what happens when the murci shows up? All the other cars disappear (at least to the spectators).

Even the Aventador has a problem drawing the same crowd a murci does... I think we can thank all the Rappers for making the Murcielago such an iconic car.

At the end of the day, I don't think its so much about what drive train the car has, but that you either HAVE or DONT HAVE a Murcielago.

I am not saying the other Lambo's out there aren't amazing, hell I am not even saying they aren't better.... I am saying... they aren't murcielagos and they haven't captured the hearts the world over like the Murcielago has.

If you leave.... you will be back.

The reason...MB is a mesmerizing color. Unless the OP is making serious money on it, just sick of it or needs to sell it. I can't see replacing an MB 6sp LP640 with another LP640 especially egear. Maybe move to an Aventador if anything. Best of luck with whatever decision you make.

I'm in the market for a manual murci - if you know of any pls lmk.

You aint getting shit...

On that note, I would never trade a 6spd for ANY egear.

I must admit, I love the banter between his signature and your comment lol.

Ya know what, I was looking past the fact he had a Monterey Blue stick, I get so used to owning a Monterey Roadster, I forget just how special that color is. Very valid point, its MB AND Stick... if it was a convertible (aka Roadster) it would be my unicorn. Sadly no such car exists and so this is literally is my 2nd Favorite of all ‘Real’ Murcielagos. First ‘doesnt exist’ unicorn would be a SV LP670 stick in MB.

I know its unpolite to ask numbers, so I wont ask, but if I was to guess $310-340k range?

Monterey Blue. LP640. Manual. Hard top.

You probably have one of the most desirable Murci's imo. I would hang onto it if you really enjoy it and want something rare. I think you will regret it.

Plus, the roadster, with the top being a PITA, makes the car more of a hassle to enjoy.

I would get something more practical to scratch the itch for a roadster and hang onto the Murci.

One thing on the roadster vs coupe, where do you live? That would play a huge part in this overall decision for me. If you're in a good climate it's easier to justify the headache of the roadster top. If it's an area where you'll only have the top off for maybe a couple months a year then keep the coupe.

Personally I think murci for murci you'll regret selling this one.

Joe...

Reach out to Joey, he just picked up a LP640 in MB. Ask him to take it a ride and see if you like it. That way you know for sure you’re making the right move.

You never go backwards by taking a profit, it’s not the cure to cancer it’s just a car at the end of the day, if it wasn’t a consideration you wouldn’t ask, if the profit is substantial enough to sway you take it and have fun with something else, variety is the spice of life, personally I never regret selling any of my material possessions profit or otherwise.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Reason for selling? For me it would be somewhat age & health in changing from stick. So tired of the manual in my 3 modified Panteras taking them on PCH, whereas the Murci egear is just pleasure (well I suppose at least till I get some major egear service or repair bill, haha). You have many more miles than other cars I have seen for sale, so not sure how that effects the price. Maybe with stick it doesn't matter to many buyers. I know, well maintained lotsa miles is usually better than minimal miles but when it comes to collectibles some get fussy about miles regardless.

If I could have both this and the roadster, I would definitely NOT sell it. I know this is blasphemy for some, but I think after 6 plus years, the open top trumps the gear box. I bought if with 30K miles and have taken great care of it and done preventative maintenance. Those that have seen it and driven it are amazed how many miles it has at this point (I am talking the looks and the feel), but that came with a price of course of the years (and for those that mentioned profit taking, I can tell you there is no profit here at all --except that I did get to drive it for 17K miles over that period of time and enjoyed them all).

A big part of regret for selling cars depends on what happens to the values in the future. How many people do you know that can tell a story of a car that they regret selling because the values went through the roof.

So it's hard to say at this point if you will or not.

At least gives us some visual stimulation with some pics of this unicorn before you move on :)

Doesn't Roy Cats have this exact spec 670SV?

The three sticks in the US are white. The blue he had at one time was egear.

Not gonna lie Fortis is hands down my favorite member on here and I have never met him. His success is one thing, but his perspective is always soooo spot on. I’ve never found anything he said to be idiotic or without merit. Can’t say that for the rest of you.... or even myself lol.

Here is the thing. Life is short, I truly mean that, I swear just yesterday I was 11 years old dreaming about owning a Countach 5000s, today I am 45 and have owned 2 lambos and literally millions of dollars worth of cars (as have many on here). No car have I ever kept and until recently, none have ai ever profited from. I have never in all these years regretting a single sale. Sure it hurts to see a loved one go for a few days, but then you bounce right back and thing about the new love you are going to have with the new toy you bought. None of us lives forever so enjoy what you can now. For me, like women, when it comes to cars the more the marrier, try one out for a while, love it, enjoy it and when it doesn’t make your heart race like it used to.... replace it ;)

Last week I sold my Demon (for profit), my GTR (for a loss) and my Viper (Broke even), all calculated I got out with the same money I put into them as a whole about a year ago. So now I have a wad of cash begging to be soent and its my choice how I do it. I say take the money (like I did) and befin your next chapter in automotive romance!

Thank you very much for the kind words :turboalex:

I’ve met quite a lot of members from LP so maybe one day we will have the chance, quite a few traveled here and I accommodated them and become good friends.

I am a creature of habit but when it comes to cars I like turning them over!
