Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...

It is 2.5 hours of the same loopholes of superpowers that could just end it all but are never used. It's just yet another comic book movie that lacks any depth or meaning and is only a commercial aimed at selling tickets for the next sequel.

Cliffs:

1. Villain "Thanos" believes in consolidating powers and the lifeboat theory of economics.

2. everyone gets a fight scene

3. good and bad guys die

4. Peter Dinklage is HUGE, but needs a helping "hand" to get the fire started

5. Credits name more people than live in the state of Kansas and go on for 10 minutes

6. Post credit has me

Fury-ous

but it blows over fast

I know a guy who saw it who couldn't stop raving about it.

Granted he's a bit of a Marvel fanboy, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The whole movie feels like a clip show. Too many characters, half of them don't interact with each other, one main bad guy with some inconsequential soldiers, lots of loud bangs and crashes, nobody ever really gets hurt, but the people that die might surprise you.

I mean isn't it always this in these Marvel movies:

Bad guy shows up to collect something to gain ultimate power to destroy the universe while some good guys in-fight and have to overcome their differences to unite and defeat evil.

In this case the bad guy adds in the attitude of an ex-wife, he wants half of everything.

It sounds as if it was made to lightly entertain rather than win cinematic awards. I think that is the winning recipe for a large action/comic picture. I’m looking forward to seeing it with the family Sunday. Thanks for the review, yours are always very good, if not a little overly critical, being a pro...

Saw it just now. It's an entertaining action flick, but I will say 2 things about the ending:

1. You're not going to believe it

2. Every will be buying tickets to the next Avengers movie

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was the best part. Thanos’ solution is a repeated movie theme. Seems like someone is trying to send a message.

I thought this was the last Avengers movie but I guess there’s going to be another.

... being a Marvel fanboy(i am not, but asked one to explain certain things to me) though, also helps to understand why they went the direction with the story the way they did. i had a couple that were sitting next to me. as soon as the credits started to roll, the woman said: "well that sucked!". i liked the film, but hate the fact that i'm going to have to wait awhile for the next one to come out.

Saw it Saturday with my wife and kid, everyone liked it. My daughter was a little put off by the end until I explained the movies to come, and then she was better with it.

It didn't feel like a 2.5 hour movie IMO.
