Poll: which would you choose?

In an effort to educate myself more while considering a purchase, I want to throw this out there. I've never sat in a roadster. I hear some hate them.

So if you were shopping, which would you pick? Please tell why. Thanks for playing along! Obviously $ would be a factor, but let's say all within $15k of each other.

(Some are real, some fictional)

A. 07 LP Coupe Egear Balloon White 15k miles

B. 02 Coupe Yellow gated 15k miles (cheapest by $20k)

C. 05 Roadster Gated Blue/light interior 5k miles

D. 05 Roadster Gated silver 15k miles

E. LP Bright color Egear 15k miles

Are the roofs completely useless? So when buying a Roadster, mentally just prepare to always drive topless, mess up wife's hair, have dusty interior, no long trips with possible rain? Ha

Although my last "toy cars" have NEVER seen rain. I live in desert.

The roadsters are cool, but the tops are ugly and a pain to put on. It's not like you push a button and 30 seconds later you have a roof. I was all hot to get a roadster until I spent a day in one. I baked and there was no way to get away from the sun. After that day I decided coupe was the way to go.

If it is my yellow gated car, I don't want anyone to feel like I was misleading. The car has 30900 miles, not 15k miles.. But it is as clean as a 5000 mile car... So its a wash. :icon_mrgreen:

ha of course it was. I was on my phone and couldn't remember the miles. So I just made stuff up. You're right though, it does make a bit of a difference. Really just wanted theoretical opinions to help educate and form my thoughts.

To be clear Chad, you have been extremely helpful and completely up front. I just don't know what I want yet and that whole $$$ thing. I will say, you've been good enough to deal with that I would pay a tad bit more to you than others due to up frontness and perceived honesty.

Have you seen BW in person? also, what color interior on that car? Black is nice, but red is tits.

What part of the country do you live in? That would be a big determining factor on the coupe vs. roadster for me. As Assman said, SoCal is the perfect place for verts, but the Murci top is such a pain in the ass, and it gets so fcuking hot out here it's just not worth it. Sweating your balls off in traffic sure takes the luster out of driving a Murci. If you live in NorCal and it's perpetually 76F during the 'driving months', then roadster all the way.

Very few circumstances would make me alter from option A.

Thank you for saying such. I just didn't want anyone thinking I was giving you wrong info. Hope we can work something out on one of them. They are both very nice cars.

I wouldn't buy a roadster, and I have sold and ridden in a ton of them. I have spent considerable time in them and the only way I would ever consider owning one is if I lived in SoCal. I have always been more of a coupe guy anyways. If the money was right, the 02 that Chad has would be the way to go. I don't mind e gear though, and the LP variant of the Murcielago is an amazing car. It would be one of those two for me, I just am not sure which.

Live in New Mexico - dry heat. But yeah, summer would be hot at 90-95 degrees. Which would be 90% of use

Get a coupe.

Decide whether you want to row through the gears or have an extra 100 horsepower and call Chad.

After owning two manual pre-LP I almost bought an egear LP, then I jumped for a manual LP. But I was willing to give up the third pedal for power.

I wouldn't buy a roadster - windshield is shorter than the coupe. I'm 6'2" and cannot see well out of the roadster. When I've driven them I have to drive with a serious lean to the center to see out.....
