  1. Oh, and one more response to a post I read... I'm going to wait to see what the failure was and see how KLASSEN handles it before I post all this on all the boards.. I posted here as a warning to everyone here but I don't want to harm KLASSEN's reputation by allowing wide speculation on all the boards. So far, they appear to be doing the right thing. I want to get the facts, make sure such a failure can't happen again to someone else, and see how the manufacturer handles the situation before "going public".
  2. I didnt post the pic, but the caliper (main and e-brake) was destroyed... I'll upload it soon.
  3. I am undecided as to whether or not to put KLASSENS back on the car... They appear to still be undecided as to how they are going to handle it.. The wheels were picked up from Lamborghini Miami today... So they wont arrive in California until next week and the repairs to the car will be complete by Wednesday. All wheels were returned. There was no wobbling or anything unusual until 3 to 4 seconds before the failure - it felt like slighty rough pavement.. then BAM. I did get the car off tp the side of the highway with the wheel still in the well. The photos I posted were taken with my Iphone on the side of the freeway on the flatbed. If the wheel had come out of the well, the car would have significantly more damage (and probably more damage to myself as well). And somebody mentioned tire pressure - 39psi front, 40 rear. Brand new P Zero Rossos.
  4. Kudos to Klassen... Frank from Klassen tracked down my cell phone number and contacted me - totally unsolicited. I hadn't reached out to them yet. Frank has arranged to have all the wheels sent to them for inspection as well as repair invoices from Lambo. He expressed his concern about my safety and that of his customers and wants to ensure such a failure never occurs again (hence, he wants the wheels for inspection). I will keep you all posted on progress, but this seems to be a great gesture of good faith.
  5. That's good to hear... Damage: rear rotors (only sold in pairs), caliper us paint, some stress cracks to paint on fender, and of course the wheel and tire. I think I'm forgetting something... Anyways, about 10 grand..
  6. You know.... I'm really not looking forward to the "blame game" I'm going to have to endure tomorrow. No one is going to have the honor to accept responsibility for this.. (Imagine if someone had been injured or killed!) One thing is for sure: it wasn't my fault and I will almost certainly end up paying for everything (I don't even know how much damage the car took.) I will be sure to post everyone's responses for other members to judge on who to do and not do business with.
  7. The centers appear to have been painted, not powdercoated, but I won't know for sure till tomorrow. The barrels were painted for sure.
  8. Unlikely, but possible. They are pros and deal with high end cars and wheels on a regular basis.... But it's something I'm going to look into.. Thanks.
  9. Liked the look of the orange barrels and black centers. Plus, wanted to go to 20 in rear and 19 in front....
  10. Yep - recognize them from their white 640 in ads?
  11. And some else asked what now... Stock or HRE.. Haven't decided. I'm not sure what Klassen could do to make me feel comfortable about running their product at 200mph....
  12. Ok.. 1: the wheels were purchased from Klassen dealer but had come of a 640 with a coue thousand miles on it. Wheels were inspected upon arrival and there were no (visible) flaws. They had already been painted black - I painted the barrels only. 2: how'd it feel? I felt a slight vibration from the rear of the car - almost Luke uneven pavement - and started to move from the lane to smooth out the ride.. Then a load bang, the RR dropped, kicked out, I countersteered, slowly backed out of throttle and got the car to shoulder. It felt like my RR wheel had all of a sudden become a piece of steel. Control was limited, but I didn't panic and tried to keep the cars attitude correct till I could get it off the freeway and stopped. When I got out, I expected the entire RR pf the car to be gone...
  13. Hadn't really thought of that, but they've done wheels for me before and no problems... It was a wheel repair place and not a body shop. It seems to me that if they didn't attach the barrel to the center properly, the failure would have been... different. I don't know... It's something to look into. Thanks for the idea.
