spoke to my dealer and he said this seems like BS. 20k below msrp on a new 0 mile HP is nuts.

I would ask for proof and if you can get it done for that price, you got a hell of a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you should go

play the lottery or head to vegas same day :eusa_dance:

what do you expect them to tell you if they sold you one at MSRP?

No offense intended bro. We are all here for the same reason. We waste too much $$ and time on cars. :)

Have you been to Lambo to see the cars being built?

If not, do. You will love it.

Here is what you will see. (don't be offended, I am just reporting what I saw).

The Huracans are on their own line. They are assembled in the literal sense. There are boxes from VAG, Sparco for the seats etc. I believe nothing on the Huracans is truly made in Italy. They make no attempts to hide the fact that the H is an Audi. It IS an Audi turned up to 11. We watched as they wheeled in stacks of fully assembled H bodies that I believe were made in Hungry. Fully painted. The (mostly younger) guys on the H line were just bolting the parts together. The H (and HP) engines are made in Germany.

The fact that the H is basically an Audi should not be seen as a negative. I could care less. The HP is a special car.

Then on the other side of the plant, they are making the Aventador. TOTALLY different experience. I saw NO boxes from Germany :). I am sure there are parts from different countries on the A, but it was almost 100% Italian. The A engine is unique the Aventador. The cars are painted in Italy at a small family owned paint shop off-site. (yes, they contract it out.) The paint process for the Aventador is on a totally different level vs the H. Did you know on all the tri-color cars the first color they use is bright green? We watched as the interiors were being hand-stitched (vs pulled from a Sparco box like the H). The workers on the A line were mostly older with a few gents that have been with Lambo since the old days. The Aventador is made like you THINK Lamborghinis are made.

We then went up to Pagani (old plant). Pagani was creating their masterpieces just like Lambo was with the AV. Hand made, slow production, each part from Italy (except the engine/ trans)

Ferrari was epic. However, totally mechanized. I was disappointed how many machines were involved. To say Ferrari is a hand built car is not true. The Aventador was. What REAllY blew my mind was all the part Ferrari was getting from China. We were on a VIP tour with a small group of other folks. Wife and I wandered off a bit (outside of the painted lines that you are told never to cross) and saw the Chinese stampings all kinds of parts. Exhaust is MADE IN CHINA for the 458/ 488. Ferrari uses Tubi to make the tips. So when Joe blow owner looks at his tips he may see Tubi stampings even tho the actual exhaust is Chinese. Anyway, I lost a little respect for Ferrari. Seriously, for what they charge you would think they would use true Italian companies for their parts.

Guys, go to Modena. Go to all the plants. It will blow your mind and change your perspective. You may become a much more educated car person and not so susceptible to marketing BS.

The Lambo truck is nowhere near the same league as the A or even the H. I have seen several and egad are those things built to a lower standard. The paint is mass production. Fit and finish is the same. Save $200k and get a new Navigator.

I thought you ordered a HP last year but now the HP got you triggered? I tried my best to take you serious but when you start dropping "it's an Audi" and start claiming the 720s is reselling over MSRP I can't take you serious. And you do know the Aventador S roadster is out right? Maybe that's why Aventador roadster prices are dropping right?

The interior parts that feature materials such as leather and etc, be it for the Huracan or the Aventador or even the Urus are hand made by the factory (and when finished are taken to the assembly line). Application process and stitching is made by hand, it does not come from a "Sparco box". Both seat options are unique to the Huracan (comfort seats also known as "sofas".) and Lamborghini (sports seats shared between the models). The rest is correct.

Resale value wise HP is at an disadvantage at the moment compared to the 720S. Reason: Spyder (some owners are switching from Coupe to Spyder). 720S are doing resale wise similarly to the Performantes at the moment, you can get 10-20k off the sticker if you really try/have a good relationship with your respective dealer. The thing is depreciation for 720S will only increase once they do a Spyder. HP is already there, it won't drop that quickly going forward whereas 720S will, because people will be making a switch to the Spyders.

Long term wise one will go down in the history as one of the last N/A V10 engines ever produced, the other as one of many McLarens.

and others have gone the other way as well...

90% of perf and 720 owners can't exploit them enough on the road course to put one ahead of the other.

I don't care what turbos are in the car, all I know is it blazing fast, fully capable on the track and it outruns the perf by busses acceleration wise... :)

As for the McLaren 720S comparison... I know two of my friends and two others I do not know personally have sold their 720S and swapped them out for Performantes. Why because the 720S is fast in a straight line but boring and unengaging on the track compared to the Performante. McLaren build quality is questionable too. An instructor that drove 3 different 720S's on track said all three behaved differently in identical settings (no BS, I talked to him myself). It still has a bored and stroked Nissan designed engine in it (just like the 12C) with dual Mitsubishi sourced turbos! I love Japanese cars and own one now for the nanny to drive my kids around. But I don't want my exotic with Nissan and Mitsubishi bits... Do you? The verdict from many is that the 720S is unengaging to drive especially on the track compared to the visceral Performante.

one is faster on the street and one is faster on the track, it all comes down to what you like more (sound, feel, rawness, resale, spooling, etc)

I like them all :icon_mrgreen:

Performante Value Update:

I met with the GM of my local Lamborghini dealership this morning. He showed me three Performantes he has for sale currently. They are all lightly used with varying miles. He said he paid 15K below msrp for each of them wholesale. he said he got outbid on a fourth Performante by another dealer at 15K below msrp! He said he has sold every used Performante at list and will sell the three he has at MSRP. He will not entertain a conversation of below MSRP on any new Performante. Now some will not believe this but I have a 7 year relationship with this GM and a 10 year relationship with the dealership. They have never lied to me.

So my conclusion is that at least in the Dallas, Texas market, used Performantes in mint condition are selling at MSRP.

You definitely made your point with all the videos that you prefer the 720 over the

Performante...Got it! But...I think most of us here still prefer the HP

I believe you.

Dallas Lambo is VERY good at not haggling.

pretty much in line with what the owner of our local dealer told me a few days ago.

Surprisingly US HP's are selling for much more compared to Canadian HP's. On average the used US HP's I've seen online after conversion are selling for around $400k+ CDN whereas a brand new HP at my local dealer is selling for around $370k which is around $290k USD.

I would say it is night and day difference. And I say it with only visiting Pagani.

Every part is hand laid dry carbon and then to autoclave it goes. There is no other manufacturer like Pagani other than Koenigsegg.

They are very different from all the rest.

Lambo seats ARE made by Sparco. And yes they do arrive at Lambo in boxes that say SPARCO on them. https://www.sparcousa.com/oem

hmmmmmmmmmmm, this is interesting, those pics are terrible of TENERIFE... I might look into this car...

A lot of colors going on there! :eusa_think:

You can always wrap and still be ahead.

If it has no negative history, it’s safe to say they will

be following regular H depreciation.

I still think HP coupe prices will rebound after the initially rush for the Spyder. Also we should get a better idea in the coming weeks in terms of MY19 allocations.

I've seen the color in person and like it... these pics make it look bad... $60k off for 500 miles seems too good to be true?

What is wrong with the color? Looks like highlighter yellow. And interior has a little red accents. Is it really that bad?

Locally we've had a couple 580's in this colour and the paint looks amazing in person. Not sure about the red calipers and red interior...
