"We use the P Zero, not the Rosso or Nero. The performance is much better with the P Zero that those with color designations." How true is this statement?

"Do not use the slippery road button. It decreases the speed of clutch disengagement and can destroy a clutch in less than 100 miles" WOW

"Do not try to heel toe or blip the throttle yourself when shifting up or down. You will look like an idiot and you will confuse the car." lolol

How much longer until we get a write up of the murci? I'm very much looking forward to that

Dont want to start an argument, but your numbers are way off. I've been dealing with maintaining exotic rental cars for years, run 20,000 - 25,000 miles per car per year and on our 7th or 8th gallardo now. The cost per mile is way less on gallardos then you state, not faulting you for your analysis you just need a bigger sample size.
FWIW sold a 75,000 mile 04 gallardo coupe for $70k a year and a half ago.

Hi Rob,

Does Gotham plan on getting an LP560 G (either coupe or spyder) anytime soon? If so, I'll definitely want to spend a long weekend with that thing. smile.gif

Thanks.

Which Model for the Maserati do you have?

Personally from a technician point of view, the 360 is a high maintenance cost vehicle specially when you get to do full belt service. Out of both vehicles you have the Maserati has a lower maintenance cost.

I think the bonus is that the private owner can expect this to be the "worst" in a sense as they would not work the car as hard, as long as it's noted that it is a rental, people will know that a privately owned and cared for car may and should have less issues.

I ended up selling the rental company last year so I never added a Murcielago to the rental fleet. I have been working at Lamborghini Atlanta for a little while now which has been a blast a much more relaxing than the rental business.

That is exactly the way to look at it. In most cases privately owned and driven cars will fare much better than this. There is a real lack of quantitative data available on these cars so whether or not it could be accomplished more expensively or cheaper, the data is useful simply for what it is.

Would like to know what the cost is when the car is not a rental, and driving 6,000-8,000 miles annually?

Mike, my best guess from what I've read is that it's along the lines of a Porsche Turbo. Depending on the gearbox, that's the most expensive part to replace (clutch). If you go manly and get a manual, you should be good. Get a PPI on a legit, non-press, non-04, and you should be solid. Everything I've read and heard about G maintenance has been that it is the BEST "supercar" to own. The stories of blown engines, dashes going out, or the flukes like that have to be taken into consideration - but it's a small group of a large group of owners who are not reporting any problems.

IMHO, rentals should NOT be used as a guideline for maintenance wear, but more as a showcase of how much abuse they can take.

The car is likely to drive much better with the stock wheels, but yours look good. It is always a trade-off. The traction on all wheels of these cars are very sensitive and the car does not use the clutch to compensate for wheel slippage. The last thing we want is the car constantly slipping clutch, and you think you are slipping.

Great info!

Thanks. Please contribute if it matches or differs from your own experience. I recently sold my second 04 Gallardo with about 41k miles. They are awesome cars and as more of them get up there in miles, practical data about what owners can anticipate in ownership costs become more useful.
