I'd flip my '12 550 for an SL

Ok, some asked openly while others PM’ed me, so on with the LP570-4 Superleggera review:

....
And I wouldn’t be VCR if I don’t end this post with this: the ultimate but predictable letdown of the new LP570-4 Superleggera is… yes, the sound quality of its stereo still sucks! icon_mrgreen.gif

Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive piece. The only complaint I have is your final comment. I mean, seriously, who the hell wants to listen to the "stereo?"

You are absolutely right. If you do a search on some of my former posts, I am not a fan of car stereo on a Lambo or after-market car stereo in general. In fact, the white Gallardo SL posted earlier in this thread does not have a stereo at all. But you would not believe how many people turned away from a car that lacks a stereo; it was not my problem but the dealership had a hell of a time selling the traded-in car due to it lacking a stereo. So they almost insisted that I order a stereo with this car. I honestly don't care for it but some members did ask at the time about the sound quality of the car stereo; hence my comment. So far, I don't think I turned on the stereo for more than 6 times during my entire ownership thus far.

As big of a car stereo nut as I am, I don't see the point in having them on these hardcore lightweight exotics like the superleggera, scuderia, challenge stradale, F40, F50 etc. Even a "weightless" stereo if one existed would still be "wrong". icon_mrgreen.gif

I guess I'm the minority that would not have bought my car if it didn't have a stereo. A little background bpm is always nice and backup camera helps me not rip off the whole carbon rear splitter.

iamwithstupid.gif I didn't want one but the dealer insisted for the sake of resale value.
