  1. Being the driver, It's a bummer not being able to see it go down the road. I sometimes think how lucky other drivers are to see this! There's not a bad angle on the Diablo.
  2. Pretty neat, looks like a night club for your car.
  3. Yeah you must be excited seeing as you don't mind it's scratching up that fine looking table.
  4. Well on the bright side, they probably won't drive them much, so they won't break, so the demand for parts will be low, so the prices have to fall....LOL. Hows that for logic?
  5. Could see that coming a mile away. Getting close to Park'em.
  6. Hmm. I actually agree with you on this one. Okay, lets say it doesn't matter who owns the company or who designs the cars, just so long as they have that Lambo badge on them all is Ok. Then would it bother you if Gallardo's rolled off the same assembly line as Audi's, which they most certainly could, but don't. Probably because of public perception. If a guy named Tom Cole smoothed out the rough edges of the original Gandidni design, then Tom Cole nailed, but I'm glad my car doesn't have Tom Cole's signature on it! I'll give Chrysler some credit there. At least some guy named Filippo Perini is running the deign department now, and it shows with the current crop. Yeah, it matters. If it doesn't what does? This is fun.
  7. Yep disagreements are what make Forums. I don't think anybody is going to change their mind. A badge alone doesn't get a rubber stamp any more than any other brand though. The Gallardo/Murcie era could have just as well not existed to me. I do like the Huracan/Aventador styling a lot better.
  8. Oh yeah, that's another point. A guy named Luk donkerwolke designing Italian Exotics? I think not. I don't think Exotics have ever been a "cut throat" market either.
  9. I know people like to make that comparison, but there's no comparison to the two ownerships. Chrysler was an autonomous owner, that didn't bring the company to mass produced "Chrysler cars" Unlike Audi. I don't think you'll find Chrysler parts any where on the cars of that era. German quality improvements are a crock too. Has Ferrari quality improved by leaps and bounds? So too would have Lamborghini's. Globalization makes that happen. Chrysler's ownership was only for the amusement of Lee Iaccoca.
  10. I agree with the OP. 6.0's are the "best Diablo's" too Right? NOT! Someone has a 97-98 model and there's enough postings that make you feel like you somehow have a lesser Diablo. Oh, the dash is ugly, the wheels are too small. They're less powerful, they're not as reliable. It's simple. The further you get away from the original, and closer to Audi influence, the less Lamborghini, and less desirable IMO.
  11. There is no way people paying these astronomical sums are concerned with the rawness, the way they drive, or even look for that matter. Remember people who pay these prices are expecting them to rise even higher. Do you really think they're going to drive them? It's pure speculation, has nothing to do with using the car. So as long as people keep saying 6.0, 99SV 98-99 roadsters, that's where the speculative money is going.
  12. Am looking for them for a new owner. Front 009911700 Rear 009911601
  13. Car has been around, it even made a stop in Oklahoma City. I wish I would have known about it.
  14. Okay thanks. 2 confirmations is good enough for me.
  15. Knowing that the lift system is always under some pressure, does it influence the ride height, or is it strictly adjusted through the adjustment on the shock?
  16. According to Shamile's instruction, he removed the drive shaft first. I guess you could just stop there. This whole tire thing is a mystery to me anyway, right down to reading the size. A 245/40 is 245mm wide. The side wall is suppose to be 40% of that, 98mm. Instead, I measure 75mm from top of tire to wheel rim. I'm not even sure if the 245's aren't acceptable, come to think of it there's no way 10mm difference is going to destroy a differential in spite of what you read. Maybe I ain't so stupid after all. I will check sensor and oil level.
  17. Cruising on the hwy, my 4WD light comes on. When I got off it went out. I thought, front dif problem. In checking my tire size I find I have 245/40/17's. WRONG! Should be 235/40/17's on a 97.5. I've had the 245's on (mistakenly) for quite a while, never a problem, but now I guess there is. So, problem is there still aren't any Pirelli 17's. Rather than to change all the tires to another brand, I'm thinking to just disconnect the front diff as many have done. Then I can keep my 245's right? I feel stupid. Does any body have instructions, I'd rather not remove the whole diff, just disconnect.
  18. I don't think insurers have a realistic value of what cars like these are worth. The prices people pay are all over the place.
  19. Never hear of 2nd gear syncro's being a problem on Diablo's, but that sounds like what it is. Skipping second is normal until warmed. No way changing gear oil brands is going to help, but maybe it's just dirty anyway. Any good quality brand is going to be fine. Air in the system, or a problem with the master cylinder would give problems in other gears too.
  20. Good write up. Glad you got it fixed right.
  21. They broke after being installed and operating for a while. The tabs that hold the criss cross pipes together.
  22. I have both Larini, and QuickSilver, very disappointed. All the welds broke on both of them. At first I thought it was the way I was installing, but it's not. Also, getting the tips up close to the bumper has been a real problem.
  23. This is the kind of stuff that should scare the crap out of potential buyers. I'm surprised Audi and all that great "German quality" are having no better luck than the Italians, but really not surprised at all. Always thought it was way over stated. Anyway, this is the Achilles heel of low volume exotics. My guess is there will be allot of our cars sitting around in the future with these types of problems, and owners unwilling to pay for repair....Or attempted repair. Sorry to go off, but having been victimized by this and seeing others have to deal with it is pretty discouraging. I hope you both get lucky soon.
  24. That is indeed maddening. I know you've put allot of money in your car Sudesh, and then to run into a seemingly unfixable problem is about as nightmarish as it gets. I'm thinking it has to be something like a chaffed wire in the ECU harness or something impossible to see unless you tear into it.
