  1. Thanks for all the insight, car has been purchased and it's a 2007 spyder Egear with 970 miles on it. It was a tough decision between a standard and Egear but at the end of the day I think the larger percentage of cars sold with Egear pushed me that way. The other thing I considered was what my next car would be and looking at cars that I would condider moving to other than the Gallardo and none of my picks are available with a standard trans.
  2. Roy, I have been looking at your car for a while I love the mileage. Yes I understand that dealers( I own a Dodge, dealership but this purchase is for me to drive.) need to turn a profit but if I have the means to buy direct wholesale seems like I should take advatage of it. However as i stated earlier a price and date doesn't come close to telling the whole story of a car and their are many other factors to consider. I would be looking to sell the car this coming winter, but who knows I have only owned P cars for my personal cars and i have had no problem selling them at anytime of the year. Being a Lambo I may fall in love and never want to sell it, but that would be a first(kinda hoping). Anyway thanks for the feedback its really helpfull as I don't want to be just a driver of these cars but would like to gain as much knowledge about all things Lambo I can.
  3. I am in the market for that same car but in an Egear . My experience is telling me that non E gear's are going for 10k less so that would put you at 149,000. That price is still at markett price for a low mileage gallardo so not a very good deal in my opinion. My 2 cents is mid 140 would be the proper number for that car. Hope this helps.
  4. Thanks Matty I am past that point as I am ready to make a purchase. So yes real world prices would help. 11/15/11 NEWENGLD Regular $125,000 10,522 Above ORANGE 10G Yes 01/26/12 RIVRSIDE Lease $108,001 22,266 Below RED 10G A No 02/02/12 TX HOBBY Regular $122,000 13,559 Avg BLACK 10G Yes Above are the Last 3 auction transactions however you never get a true feel for the car or the proper options from a Manheim transaction snap shot. I do appreciate the advise though
  5. I think I found the car, 2007 yellow spider with black interior, E gear a clean car fax,12500 miles. Can you guys share what you feel would be a good price on this car, keeping in mind I think I would be selling it this winter for a newer version if I decide Im no longer a Porsche guy. Yellow doesn't really rank high in my colors, maybe because I don't like it on the P cars. There seems to be a lot of yellow for sale is that because it's not a desirable color or was it a popular color new? Thanks again I appreciated all the feedback on my last 6spd vs E gear post and hope this post will generate the same response.
  6. Thanks everyone for the great posts, i'm now more torn than ever as the inner 6spd driver in me is saying buy it for the pleasure not just the cheaper price. I'll keep updates as to how my search goes as well as any relevant pricing info I can post.
  7. I hear you on the manual blips, I love doing them just for the sheer pleasure of getting the odd one just right. My wife on the other hand thinks I do it to look cool rolling up to a set of lights a little hot.
  8. Hmm... seems the purists in the group aern't shy to give the manual some love. The price drop seems to be even more than the 10k option Egear is when new. Unfortunatly where I live I'm not able to drive the 2 to see for myself, but just by watching vids the automatic down shift throttle blurps sound glorious. For a 10-15 k savings I guess I really need to decide if the trade off and resale is worth the dollars.
  9. Thanks guy's keep the reply's and thoughts coming, btw I'm not french MANUEL, just a dumbass speller.
  10. Hi all, it's my first post and I'm hoping to be a new Lambo owner soon. I just sold my 2009 997tt 6 spd and vowed to only drive auto manuel cars going forward. Part of my buying cycle is I usually only keep it for a season or so and then try to resell for a profit or keep my losses to a minimun. Based on the knoweledge of the forum how detrimental to the resale value of the car would a 6spd stick shift be to a 2008 gallardo spyder ? I could live with the manuel and be quite happy but probably because I have no intention of keeping the car, would prospective buyers feel the same way? Would a 10-15k price advantage over an automatic be enough for someone to buy a 6spd car? Thanks for anyones input,
