  1. I have a happy ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have my new 08 Balloon white lp640 delivered next week. This is the story with names deleted as I don't need to get shitty. My car started to have a gas smell and what looked like a small pool of fluid on the ground under the engine, called the Lambo dealer and they arranged to have it picked up. After a few days of looking they could not see any fuel leaks so decided to remove the fuel tank and low and behold a hidden weld was seeping. New fuel tank was expidited and arrived in only a few days and replaced, car is now 100% but needs an alignment as the rear suspension was dropped to replace the fuel tank. Car was taken to a local high end new car dealer who has all the up to date alignment equipment and a Tech that has worked on Lambo and Ferrari for many years. It turns out this tech decided he was a race car driver and took one of his other mechanics out for a joy ride in my car, over cooked a corner (probably with cold tires) and ran off the road through a fence and hit 3 other cars. He then proceeded to tell the police and local newspaper that he was doing 45 mph max and the car had a mechanicle failure that caused the crash. Although when you look at the car, 3 out of 4 wheels and suspensions are smashed, every single panel excluding the roof are damaged and untold damages to the underside must exist as the rear of the car now sits on the chassis not the wheels. The police took his word and put this in the accident repors and the local newspaper published these (facts). Lambo corporate and the second dealers insurance got wind of the so called mechanicle failure and both demanded a full investigation. Although I have not been made privy to the full report the conclusion was that the second dealers insurance took responsibility. That being said they then decided that this was now a used car and offered me a settlement based on the current economic climate and a 14 month old used Lambo. This would not please me but after some negotiations between myself the Lambo dealer and the Second dealer extra money has been put on the table that allows the purchase of the new car and have the modifications that were on the first car repeated to the new car. Although the outcome has been acceptable to me the last few weeks have been hell and a lesson learned. All I need now are some good suggestions for a new licence plate or should I just keep with "itsyello" and let every one wonder why? Russell
  2. Give me a few more days and with a bit of luck I will explain, with hopefully a happy ending Russell
  3. I am ok and thanks for the concern. Can't go into detail at the moment but I can say that I was not the driver and at the time of the accident I was sitting in an airport on my way to Oklahoma. Will fill in on details when I can. Russell
  4. Yes but it would be nice if a Lambo dealer could do it and still retain the warrantee. Russell
  5. If they reprogram the ECU for a bit more power and faster shifting it may be possiable to have std LP640 reflashed just a thought? Russell
  6. sorry day late and $ short Russell
  7. I heard a funny quote the other day, When asked where the idea for the fraud came from Madoff replied "from the way thr Social Security System works" Russell
  8. Must admit when I saw the underside of mt LP640 for the first time I thought they didn't put much effort into the aerodynamics. They probably did but the open center tunnel maker you wonder. Russell
  9. Sorry for two posts. In the motorcycle world we have a thing called a yellow box thet can recalibrate the pulses used for the speedo. This is used when changing chain sprockets that change the final gear ratio thus putting the speedo out. Just a thought Russell
  10. If I am worried about the speed I use the GPS and not the speedo. At 80 on the speedo my LP640 is doing about 74 Russell
  11. I need these At least once in every drive I leave about $500 of carbon fiber on the road. Its a toss up when I see a bump in the road, do I jam on the brakes and risk a rear ender or grit my teeth put my fingers in my ears and hope for the best. Russell
  12. On the bright side you should be able to get a new clutch for just the cost of parts. Russell
  13. This is great advise and you should take it. I have friends that race bikes and ride SV650s on the road. Most sport bikes are very focust and unforgiving, learn to ride on a light weight and you will run rings around the average in line four bling machine (just not in a straight line) Russell
  14. I would just like to say thank you to every one who posted pictures. This has to be my fantasy thread. Russell
  15. How do you get the rear spoiler to go up ? Russell
  16. If you need more power take it back on a cold damp day put 5lb extra air in the tires and make sure it is is strapped down so the wheels dont spin. Betcha make 4 or 5 extra HP Russell

    4WD Dyno

The only real way to get flywheel HP is to remove the engine and dyno it. All rolling roads read wheel HP and a loss calculation (drive train losses) is used to aproximate flywheel HP. They probably dont know how much loss to calculate for the Lambo 4 wheel drive system. In the real world where you need a gear box and drive shafts wheel HP is what counts. You could remove your front drive shaft and dump the loss from the diff etc this will decrease the overall loss from engine to rear wheels. And incase someone chimes in a dyno really tests torque and calculates HP. Russell
