  1. Thanks! When do I get the top secret owner's decoder ring?
  2. Took delivery of a 2004 Gallardo with a 6 speed manual transmission today. Took her out for a spirited test drive then parked for the near future until the title and tags are finished up. But here she is along with my buddies 04:
  3. Yea it has a brake light there.
  4. If I am semi handy can I do it myself or is it more of an auto shop type job? Thanks!
  5. What did you guys do about the 3rd brake light? Did you guys get a wing without the slot or did you just put a light in there and leave it unplugged? Or, less likely, did you run wires to make the light functional? Thanks.
  6. It appears to have sold before I ever heard back from them. So problem solved I guess, back to searching for me.
  7. That's what I'm hoping for. I just googled every exotic rental I could find looking for a 2013 Gallardo and couldn't find anything that matches...so that's kind of a good sign I guess. Looks like I'll be on the phone tomorrow doing some sleuthing.
  8. Yea that is my primary concern. Carfax doesn't show anything...how else could I find out? I am debating calling the dealership that sold it and asking but I don't imagine I'd get very far.
  9. http://www.gemotorcars.com/web/used/Lambor...ornia/29330678/ Anyone know this car? The miles are high but if they have service records and a decent clutch snap I'm not too worried about it. Carfax is clean but there is a lack of service history between 5k and 30k miles. This doesn't mean it wasn't done...just that it wasn't at a dealership that talks to Carfax. And on 2013's...aren't there still exterior badges saying if its an LP560-4 or a LP550-2? I'm thinking because of the year and nose its a 550-2 but I'm not certain on that. Anywho, I am waiting to hear back from them but in the mean time if anyone here knows the car or any advice on higher miles that would be super! Thanks.
  10. I used a level app as primary and backed it up with a protractor and an eyeball on the vertical to make sure they were both ballpark of eachother. Not very scientific I know...
  11. His Viper fit and at the "steepest" point I could barely fit my fingers between the nose and the pavement (granted he took it with no angle in his approach so it was a worst case setup). I just wanted to use the Viper as a control for my ghetto math at the beginning since I knew it fit but didn't have any idea if my math was valid. Obviously, you scienced the shit out of it for me (thanks again btw). My conclusion: if the Gallardo nose is 4 inches longer than the Viper then there isn't a snowballs chance that it will fit. But, it would seem that an 05+ with a nose lift would clear it since it would raise 2-3 inches up based on your calculations of an 04 barely scraping.
  12. I seriously owe you a beer (or twelve) emanon. So the garage is 141 inches wide at the narrow point between the posts between the 90 degree turn going up hill. The ramp is 233 inches wide at the narrowest points and grows another 11 inches on the left and 9.5 on the right once you are past the posts. The garage door is located 16 inches from the left wall and 67 inches from the right wall and was 167 inches wide. Note: this was done with a tape measurer by myself and I'm sure all measurements are off +/- 1 inch at the minimum. Just got word from my buddy with the Gen 5 Viper, its 34.5 inches from axel to nose and 5 inches of ground clearance. At the top corner looking down.
  13. I'll get measurements of the width and I have a buddy that is going to get me the dimensions of his Viper to also work as a control. I always assumed the Pre-LP Gallardo and Viper had a similar nose length...I might have been wrong. If only those damn chicks would get out of the way so I could get a better comparisons of the noses...
  14. It's a communal garage, I live in a loft in Wichita's "downtown," so no modifications sadly.
  15. I'd be curious to get the dimensions of a Gen 3 or Gen 5 Viper and compare since I know those worked. I wonder if angling it would make a significant difference...I'd assume so. Crunching the numbers is a worst case heads on approach which I don't do since I swing wide to mitigate scraping/high centering.
  16. Thanks! Sucks, but it's better than finding out the hardway I guess. What program is that?
  17. haha thanks. And there is no distance for Section 1 because it's probably like 10 feet in length so I just did that as a constant.
  18. So...I'm trying to add some 6th grade math in my quest of figuring out if I need a nose lift to get into my garage or not. Now, I didn't do too well in any of my math classes but, I did do well in art. Thus, I present you with my quickly thrown together photoshop of the issue I'm having. Hoping someone smarter than I can double check this. Also, the picture is of an LP Gallardo but the measurements are for a Pre-LP when it came to nose to front wheel distance and then calculating the angle. So don't jump on my nuts for that, if I can figure out the formula then I'll do it again to see if an aftermarket LP560/570/GST nose would also work. Also, the car isn't to scale but the actual angles of the lines are drawn correctly, the distances are a full decimal/factor/power less (so 48 inches is illustrated as 4.8 inches in the picture). Not sure if that matters. Without further adieu my art project: Thanks! Neal Edit: My 06 Viper at stock ride height would clear going down without issue, occasionally I would high-center on something when going out (uphill) especially if I had a passenger in the car. Tested with my buddies 2013 Viper and he made it as well. I can't find any dimensions for either of these cars online to serve as a base for my math experiment though. And I wont even fathom asking my buddy with an 04 G to try it out since his is slammed and has an LP nose, last thing I want is to scrape the crap out of HIS car...thus this post.
  19. I had my fears about Affleck being Bruce Wayne/Batman but I think he pulled it off very well. Overall, I liked the movie and don't really understand why it is getting destroyed by critics. Is it Oscar worthy? No. But it was still rather enjoyable. I think it could have easily been two different movies though. I'm betting the DC figures these comic book movies have a shelf life that will soon expire so they needed a way to jump start the other spin off solo movies since Marvel has such a large lead over them.
  20. Thanks for the input. Yea Chipster that's basically my exact reasoning. I was thinking it could get basically an LP Gallardo in manual for the price of a pre LP car.
  21. Since finding the perfect Gallardo seems to be rather difficult these days (and mostly because I have such a specific color/transmission set up in mind). To the people that have owned both the G and an R8...pros/cons? I know that they are "basically" identical cars but anything I should know about? I almost like the interior better on the R8 than on the Gallardo and, obviously, the exterior is completely personality dependent. Another plus, is I have an Audi dealership that services R8's near me (they wont touch Gallardo's for some reason).
  22. Just a guess...but the drive shaft failed. Sound's like the engine rev'd up quick but it obviously had no effect on the rotors. And no where near enough altitude and forward velocity to attempt autorotation. Hope everyone on board is safe!
