  1. What a complete waste of time........it's still only worth $50.
  2. Next to nothing. You are better off totaling it. Your insurance co will pay more that what is worth and it won't take six months to a year to get paid. The only problem with this car is it is slow, ancient, expensive to repair vs the level of performance, understeers badly and goes thru rear tires ever 4K miles. Yellow is one of the worst colors on an NSX (Very wanna be Italian). Drive a F355/F360 if you need to reset what is fast. I owned one for 2 years..so I know what I am talking about. Plus you are hardly improving your cred by buying one of the true dog porsches......Guards Red, Orange or White with 20's? Turbo Cab's are super lame, heavy and slow. I owned a 996 TT as well. Get a C4 Cab and save yourself some $$$, better yet why not get a Caddy XLR V?
  3. was that you on Las Flores Canyon around 9:30am on Friday?
  4. Thank god, Those things are geting uglier and uglier....does it have enough scoops! Plus they drive like shit.
  5. I read $350+. One hundred will be built.
  6. Up until 2001, here is some info on why they changed it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Georg...#Historic_flags
  7. not diggin' the front plate...........
  8. who gives a fcuk..................would you buy either of these cars?
  9. I owned and I am not proud to admit (drug binge in OK) an XK8. The Aston's interior is all Jag. It has two ford mondeos under the hood as well. The DB7 was an Xjs in drag........ I know the gallardo has an Audi interior. Audi makes some of the best interiors going, Jaguar interiors of this era have an unfortunate Kia feel about them. I read articles when this car came out that it was delayed due to this specific issue. Who wants to spend $250 in 2002 on a Jag dash. Aston put a manual in the Vantage S, the model's final harrah. I agree with the last post, the DB9 was Aston's turning point. Their first truely good car since the DB4. Think of it this way....its a really pretty Lexus SC400, with 3X maintenance costs.
  10. I test drove one several times, an 04 I believe before I purchased the Gallardo. 18 months ago when I was looking, an LA high end used car dealer was asking if I remember correctly $155k for the 04 with larger rims and it had $4k miles on it. The car was a 10 condition wise. Astons of that era have the WORST E GEAR style transmissions. It was impossile to drive it smoothly or quickly. The gearbox was really slow and wouldn't downshift on command. It's for your wife so that may not matter. Other negatives, its a parts bins car using both Jaguar and Volvos bits. The center console is straight out of a similar vintage Jaguar XK8. Positives would be you have probably weathered the worst of the depreciation. It is got to be the cheapest $250k when new 2002 car on the market. They look great, very rare, great exhaust sound and they are relatively practical with a large interior and a useful trunk. The later ones seem to have a much nicer interior that is similar to the new DB9. I think early Bentley Continental GT Coupes are in the $120-$130's, have you thought of those?
  11. the rolls is the least interesting car you own. You own a LOT of bitchin cars.
  12. No shit and what production value on the shoot. Nice music. What's up with the chick with the snake??
  13. I guess there was a close out on lime green paint.....
  14. I had a 99 NSX T for 2 years and put 32,000 miles on it. It was my daily driver. Bullet proof reliability, really over engineered, good handling car. The anti-thesis of a Viper. Which is crude, powerful, designed on a shoe string engineering budget and had Dodge Neon build quality. I crossed shopped the Viper GTS at the time I bought the NSX and passed on it, because my car needed to be a daily driver. The earlier Vipers are extremely crude, I believe there a pretty major revision around 95. Sounds like you are on a budget; consider running/manintenance costs which should favor the NSX and insurance will which probably be a push between the two. The NSX brakes aren't the greatest and it does go through tires faster than your average mid engine car. You can get the camber adjusted somewhat to slow this down. The only negative with NSX I found is that in the rain if your tires are worn the handling/braking can be a little spooky. If you can get a 97 or better I would recommend it. Many small but significant changes to the car. 6 spd vs 5spd, better brakes, 20 hp etc. The later cars also have a wider torque band, though it's not a Viper by any stretch. If you can't afford a GEN 2 car, the nice thing is that only NSX owners will know if you a driving a GEN 1 car because the cosmetic differences are so minor. The early cars are much more prevalent, by the late 90's Acura was only importing a few hundred a year in the USA. NSX's are a niche car, they generally sell VERY slowly. Sellers get a ton of lookyloos and very few serious potential buyers. Owners generally will add $5-$7K more than what they think they can get for the car. I checked Autotrader and there are a few 98's available in the low 40's. I am sure with some haggling $35k isn't unrealistic. Be wary of exact mileage as NSX odometers are very easy to roll back as they use an old style analog mileage counter. They are aluminum cars - chassis and body. Durable, rust free - very hard and expensive to fix. Get a PPI by a dealer on any car you are considering. Many have been wrecked and glued back together. I would avoid any car that has frame damage. Many later cars come with a Targa top which is a nice option. It stores above the engive cover thus taking up no trunk space. The car can be modded reliably upto 400hp (It's a light car so 400 HP goes further than in most sports cars) using Comptech supercharger/header/exhaust kit. Comptech like Dinan is a factory authorized tuner. In fact if the parts were added by the dealer, the factory warranty remained intact. Speaks volumes to the quality of Comptech engineering and parts. The Comptech Headers and Exhaust also solve the exhaust noise issue. There is a relatively inexpensive ugrade for the brakes using a set of used Porsche 928 Brembo's, though you need to plus one size your rims in order to fit the brakes. I tracked my NSX regularly and it wasn't difficult to lap Vipers. NSXprime as previously mentioned is an excellent place for information. Every question you have, has been asked 100,000 times on that board. Here is an old picture of mine.
  15. If you want a cheap reliable exotic, get an NSX and put a brembo big brake kit on it. There is a Porsche 928 conversion that will fit on an NSX, if you go to a 17 front, 18 rear wheel set up. Plus you can supercharge them for $7k which will give you close to 400 hp.
  16. Why don't you ask some guys on the vespa board.................this is lambopower, not formerly known as daimlerchrysler soon be out of production viper board. I used to own a stock Porsche 996 TT, it smoked all Vipers on the big track at Willow Springs and Buttonwillow. Those are two very fast tracks that should favor a POS like a Viper. Actually, I owned an 99 NSX as well, half the hp, faster on the track. Unfortunately the Viper has shit brakes and creepy handling plus a 93 plymouth neon has a better interior and a/c that works. NSX brakes are shit too though. Buy a better car like an EVO MR or a STI and save a few bucks. You'll live longer and can drive it to work. I hate Vipers, evil, underdeveloped, poorly built pieces of SXXX. I am glad they are getting the axe, they were always a fraud.
  17. I see a bunch of them in Malibu. Did see you their posts, thanking the guy that screwed them. I just found this thread, it gets a lot uglier. I guess he claims they made 65. http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9558
  18. If you want a sedan get a Maserati Quattroporte. http://www.carpages.co.uk/maserati/maserati-quattroporte-29-08-07.asp
