  1. LdM wasn't the F1 team boss, he was President/Chairman of Ferrari from November 1991 until yesterday. He brought the company out of debt and into profitability, put together the right F1 team to dominate the series for a decade, and under his watch the road cars just got better and better. That said, he's an insufferable arse, if just half the stories in the media are to be believed.
  2. Is that the kid's head sitting on the ground behind the car?
  3. The Japanese bōsōzoku cars of today remind me of the hood murals, chain steering wheels, postage-stamp sized metal-flake paintjobs, button/tuck white leather interiors and blacklight headliners of the Kustom Kar age in the '70s/'80s. These guys are enjoying their cars, and there is no harm being done in creating future job security for the restoration parts/services industry. Plus, I think some of their cars are very cool... Holographic Gallardo and many of the customized Countach in particular...
  4. Just one tiny detail to be addressed. The painted trim between the 3/4 window and the engine intake... Here it is correctly painted... It gets forgotten on real cars too...
  5. That is what I call a flip. $480K three weeks ago, sale pending @ $695K today.
  6. Tony's QVDD... This (in)famous Japanese QVDD is also lowered, as well as sporting the big wheels. IMO, there is a difference between lowering for the "lowbody" look, what we see in the OP and Tony's car, and correcting the unfortunate compromised stance the factory saddled the highbody cars with. Lowbody cars with correct stance sit down on the tops of the tires. I would think that done correctly with bespoke springs, one could get a highbody car down *to* the tops of the tires without ruining the ride or handling. The most important thing is getting the leading edge of the roof lower than the trailing edge of the roof. Once you've done that, the car looks worlds better. Not as far as a Lowbody, but looking much less than the 4X4 truck stance they have stock. ...
  7. This isn't the old dirty throttle bodies problem? This thread might help... http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18590
  8. The 91's shouldn't have the VT badge on the back, and that instantly casts a shadow over them. What other Bubba Bits have been screwed onto them? The Argento '94 looks nice in the pictures though...
  9. In fairness, judging by the first pic, he wasn't going very fast...
  10. The fuel economy angle is a side effect. They stopped refueling after having several serious incidents where cars left the pits before fueling was complete, usually taking the fueling hose with them and injuring pit crew members along the way. Cars were driving into fireballs left behind by other cars dragging fuel spewing hoses down the pitlane.
  11. I was gonna say, look at who is commenting, the one old format Top Gear presenter nobody wants... I can hear him in that nasally, posh tone of his. F'k 'im.
  12. The Rifleman... I recently started watching this again, after not having seen it since I was 8 or 9, and I was instantly struck at how it's really more about a single father trying to make good for his boy than anything else.
  13. Figured the TTG guys would want to be aware of this, if they aren't already... On March 27 the City of College Station will be asked to make a decision which may change the face of College Station forever. In doing so the impact will be felt across the country and every corner of the racing community. We all will be affected.. This is from a local news agency: “The College Station City Council will be asked March 27 to approve a $513 million dollar development that will eventually replace the Texas World Speedway. While outside the south city limits, the proposed “Speedway District” is within the extra-territorial jurisdiction. The developer is asking for the creation of a Municipal Utility District (MUD).” To read more, and sign the petition: http://soonerbillz.com/SaveTWS/
  14. ...and his car doesn't have the 88.5 skirts...
