  1. I am in Utah and have personally seen the car. I agree $189K is high, I believe the owner is trying to ride the wave of gated cars going up in value. The car has had a PPI done and has some issues. The owner expressed to me that any issue was a non issue and every 02 has a Air bag light on . As the person potentially having to pay for the "non Issues" I disagree. That being his position, and that IMO the car would have to immediately go in for repair work , I did not even try to make a offer on the car. To summarize, at the time I looked at the car, it had a broken oil temp gauge, air bag light, suspension light , paint chips, scuffs in the interior and appears to have been loaded on a trailer that was too narrow at some point in its life as both side scoops are scraped. Do a search and you will find the car has been auctioned at least 4 times. It was last auctioned in Aug 2018 at the Fall Classic, lot 651. Search 2002 Murcielago for sale on Google to find out more. You will find links to the auctions, auction results as well as some old dealer listings. Maybe now that it has been for sale a while the owner might be more open to offers. I looked at it when it was first listed a couple of months ago and he was pretty firm. Current owner stated he bought the car just as a flip. Hope this helps
  2. I think this discussion has brought to mind several things, namely that anyone at any time is capable of good or bad work, (kinda like your favorite sports team) like a chef you are only as good as your last meal I guess. What I want to know is where are we 5-10 years from now? Some owners will be passing their cars on to younger family members and the owner base will become younger as well. Evans did a bunch of work on Allens car but from the pics he is not getting any younger. Is there a Evans Jr. to take the reins for the next Gen of CT owners? I think this especially applies to carb tuners. The guys that have mastered them are not young guys and the modern philosophy of engine management is electronics.Unless you have 2nd gen tuners you will have a base of carbed CT's needing attention that is not being met.(Then maybe the FI cars will be more valuable.) Its something to think about Maybe in the future we will be retrofitting the CT's with Hydrogen fusionators and electric motors and it wont matter anyway.
  3. Thanks for all your comments! I wish I could say hi to Angelina but I am not that B Pitt, I am the less famous one. I grew up watching Kung Fu so I will certainly work on snatching that pebble. Thanks for your comments Albert , I have enjoyed your threads through all of the highs and lows ,from fuel pumps to fuel smells it has been Epic. I agree with you on how important it is to have the right people with the right knowledge around you when asking questions , working on the car or having work done. I believe this forum is a great resource for those things from what I have read so far, and I look forward to learning more.
  4. Hi to all , I have been a lurker for some time and recently joined this Forum I couldn't find the "Countach for dummies" sticky so I spent some time reading through tons of threads and this Is what I think I know. The Countach is as tempermental as a Italian Super model but Purrs like a French one. The Countach is hard on clutches and the Countach is easy on clutches it depends on who is clutching. Carbed cars are more valuable but FI cars start more often. The Countach is very unreliable and the Countach is very reliable. Videos with Screaming 12 cyls are good but vids with dubbed 12 cyls are bad The Countach looks good in Red, White, Black etc. Actually the Countach just looks good! There are High bodies , Low bodies and Round bodies but I have no idea what that means other than some cars your head hits the roof and others it doesn't. Nothing compares to a Countach at full song. When buying a Countach Roy at Cats is good and Joe Sackey/Shakey is bad Evans and Chad are good and the guy in FL that sold RHershey his car is bad Always preview a car before purchase unless its half price. Sport exhaust should be the first Modification you make. Most people wish they had a car as nice as Albert LP I think that sums it up. I hope to be a owner one day and it has been a great help learning the realworld experience of Countach ownership from you guys. From what to look for and what to look out for. I look forward to taking more in and hopefully contributing knowledge as well.
