  1. Must be running out of Design Engineers, so started importing them from Japan!!
  2. Kudos on the "Great First Post Comment". Well, You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth, although I'll vouch for Allen, who although I've not met personally, has shown more than enough as to "Knowing what he's talk'n about!" I have also driven an NSX and owned Porsches, Mercedes AMG, Bimmers, and then some... AND of course LOTUS Esprits. HANDS DOWN, the Esprit will ALWAYS take an NSX, unless the Esprit it moving with it's brakes clamped! I can personally attest to this... and BTW, I DO have an SCCA Competition license as well! (and also race a 1st gen Rx7 with a 13A engine). Moreover, you can put ALL the factory options you want an old, new or even moded NSX, but keep in mind, Lotus offers only 3 factory options for the Esprit: Removeable Glass Roof, High-Torque ECU, and Red Race ECU. You pretty much buy the car governed without these items. By just throwing in the Race ECU, you're already pumping over 450 HP in a car with a curb weight of 3040 lbs. and some of the best handling on the planet!!
  3. Hey Dave, THat's one Hell of a nice POS!!! Looks like it's moving just standing there!
  4. Hey Z-Man, I will tell you that of all the street missiles out there, I stand most upright when a Plastic mess-06 stands next to me! Them's fast cars alright! (But I pretty much doze off when an F-Car tries it... heh heh!). As for the next gen Plastic mess-06, I already confirmed the GM suggested retail at $75000-$80000 (Chevy dealer & Road&Track Mag), but my manager budy of a small Chevy dealer in South Miami said that due to it's very high demand, most dealers will be marking up the price 25-30%, which is about $105K. Nice damn car, Just more into finesse and handling than sheer power. I will say that the regular last gen POS never attracted me too much, but something about the added tid-bits on the Plastic mess-06 is downright BAD!! Have a Great one!! 5. Way to GO Allen! Woke up just to read the results this morning! ;-) Definitely need to get that Boost fixed, as your Race ECU should give you Full Boost in ALL gears, including first. I think you may have taken the Plastic mess-06 off the line if so with just a lil ole Clutch dropping. As for the Esprit's rear wing, you can find some interesting info on ALL the stock wings on Esprits at http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EModificat...wingeffect.html The newest wing we have fitted on our Esprits doesn't really give much down force, if any, but does offer some stability at higher speeds. From what I understand, the Carbon-Fiber Sport 350 wing is the most functional (with ours in close second), but IMHO, ours is the coolest look'n. Cool story though... Soon as I get my Capsules and Race ECU in the nest 3 months, I'll be looking out for the new generation 500 HP Plastic mess-06 due to be released in Dec, '06. Dealers will be selling it for $105,000, and supposedly will do 0-60 in 3.7 secs. Finally some competition, only that I sure wouldn't drop over 100K on a POS!?!? Have a Great One, Willy '02 Azure Esprit #094
  6. Well where the hell was I in this post!?!? I've been a Lotus follower since '78. I currently own an Anniv. Ed. '02 Esprit (94 of 100). Some years ago I also had a '78 CHampion edition. Since '78. less than 10,000 Esprits were produced, and of those numbers, and less than 400 between '00-'04. I will totally agree on the S4s being a great buy and even greater car, as most to all issues and factory tweaking was done by then. You can really go off more mods though in quier a few places like www.hybinette.com., www.lotusespritworld.com, and as Allan said, espritfactfile for a world of info. I'd stick to a '97 or later V8 but preferably a '99 or later (some changes after '98). The most sought after models are the Sport 350's released in '99 (only 10 imported into the U.S., oand one's been totalled already!). Allan knows me from the "turboesprit" forum on Yahoogroups. He's got himself an nice Esprit there with some nice #'s to back it up. I'll be dynoing my Esprit with minor mods (ECU, Exhaust, K&N's) and should be in the 370 RWHP range, or 425 BHP at the Crank. Keep in mind it weighs 3043 lbs. Here's pix of my Mistress...
