Sounds like a simple sticking relay - find the relay that powers the fans and switch it with one that works, would be the first step I would try.

That probably would make the Huracan quicker than the Aventador - won't happen! ergo, the 12C is always faster than the Huracan, since the McLaren is already faster than the Aventador.

I don't know what it is, but it is not rust - the heat shields are aluminum, they don't stain when oxidation occurs.

In theory, it is not possible to pass in CA if any of the emission control systems were tempered with, the smog station has to check for that visually. However, since the cats are often not visible due to heatshielding, there is a fair chance the tech will not know they are missing.

Is your hydraulic line for the wing leaking? looks like the hoses are weeping on the right side......?

The air inlet for the engine is at the trailing edge of the side quarter window (check for the mesh in the corner, use a flash light and you can see the elbow) The filters are under the covers on each side of the engine, right in front of the intercoolers. Expect to spend the better part of a day to change the filters.....
