  1. Hopefully you reach your goal. I will be there, but not in my Huracan, driving a GTR.😅😁 Given the fact that it is going to be fairly cool during the event I think there will be some personal bests set. Stay safe everyone.
  2. They lost because a Lambo with a dogbox has a big Aero/weight distribution/weight/HP per liter advantage. They need a bunch more power out of the little six cylinder if they hope to win.
  3. I feel you, I own a Lambo and GTR and I find some of the fanboys from either side to be nauseating. I do find the GTR crowd to be more interesting as they tend to as a whole share more technical information and tend to me more technically inclined. I am a gear head and like seeing how the sausage is made when it comes to relatively small motors making big power. I still see the GTR platform being shut out once the DCT Hurrican builds get rolling with Drag radials. That car will have all the advantages the Lambo had over the GTR along with a good transmission.
  4. I don't take it as whining, more of a postmortem. Lambos and GTRs have both won, lost and broken at these events at various times. If a sensor fails and causes a loss (or doesn't) it is still worth knowing the limits and weak links that come with the various platforms as they are pushed. I am for one glad Tony is sharing the information he gleaned at this event. At the end of the day the customers are the winners as these cars are shaken down under such harsh conditions. Tony lost, being forthcoming about some of the factors that led to it is transparency not whining. At the end of the day his power to weight ratio and aero caused the loss. It is cool seeing an underdog platform get rung out for everything it's worth, and to me it is fascinating seeing some of the challenges that must be overcome. At the end of the day Kevin and company had the faster car, there is no denying that.
  5. Congrats UGR on your victories. I particularly like how this event turned out with Gidi winning it after such a tough break at the Shootout. All of the GTR fanboys need to settle down (and for your information I own a modded GTR). the cars as they stand now (UGR Gallardos and GTR) are suited for different things. Of course the owners are going to play to their respective strengths drag vs 1/2 Mi etc.... What allows the GTR to be as competitive as it has been is it's gear box. That will go away once the Audi/Lambo DCT is built. Couple a decent trans with the weight/weight distribution/aero/displacement advantage of the Lambo platform and thins are going to get tougher, not easier for the GTR.
  6. I think that all good things will come in time. In the GTR world the transmissions were not developed over night. In the Huracan world there are fewer cars out there and consequently less overall demand. I know that it is possible to procure an upgraded clutch set already for the Lambo/R8 DSG. Additionally there is already a gearset being developed. The rest of the power train is pretty well figured out which was why UGR could field a high HP Huracan. Give it time and you will see transmission components for the DSG.
  7. Valvetronic, looks nice!
  8. As of yet no. The UGR car was running an air shifted dog box in the Huracan. I know that ASS has upgraded clutches for their TT R8, but no gearset. ASS makes about 1250 WHP per their marketing in that car. The R8 has enough turbo to make much more. The DSG will take time to develop. As far as making power the Gallardo isn't much different than the Huracan besides the transmission.
  9. This debate about the nebulous definitions of "street tire" and "street car are humorous. Both the R888 and the M/T drag radial are radial tires employing R compound rubber (>200 wear). They also both have dot stamps, and neither would get you a ticket if you were pulled over and your car was inspected. At some point people need to stop complaining about shops taking advantage of equipment that falls within the rules of the event. Either that or they need to take advantage of said equipment or not participate. Additionally both lambda lambda lambda and the lambda lambda lambda and the omega mu mu and the fast lambos are heavily modified and could both come into question in regards to whether or not they are true street cars. Air shifted dog box, billet engine block, the list goes on. Rules are rules, hate the game not the player.
  10. New owner here looking to register. And yes, my Avatar is sorted... 2015 Huracan. A shot of the car, and a shot of the wife driving the car.
