  1. Roadster, Rosso Efesto (I’m usually not a red fan, but it’s jaw dropping in person), Black diamond stitch with white accents throughout. I’ll post up pics and rest of the build in a different thread once I take delivery.
  2. I hear what you are saying, I’m already on my dealer’s list for the SVJ Roadster. But patience isn’t one of my virtues lol. And I don’t want to jump into an SV in the interim. I really like some of the updates on the S. I got spoiled with a few things in the Huracan and don’t want to give them up. Love the spec on this one. Basically I just talked myself into it lol.
  3. I’m thinking of getting an Aventador S Roadster, almost ready to pull the trigger, but pausing because I’m wondering why aren’t there more AVS owners popping up? It’s been out long enough I’d think there would be more chatter about it. By all accounts this model has some much needed improvements and my drives in it confirmed for me that I like it better than my ‘16 and it pulls in some things I love from the H. Is it the looming SVJ that has everyone on pause? Are AVS owners just incredibly shy? Or am I missing something about the S?
  4. I'll echo previous sentiments. Smaller than you expect on the inside. My opinion of Range Rover is admittedly biased... I had nothing but issues with my first one. Computer would shut it off in middle of freeway driving. Ridiculously unsafe. Had videos of the issue occurring, dealer and RR engineers couldn't resolve after 2months. It was returned under lemon law. But what a hassle and PIA. The 2nd was better. Glitches periodically here and there. Consistently both vehicles would get excessively hot on floor. Borderline burning hot. Wouldn't matter if heat was turned off. Especially near the 2nd row/rear seats. May have kept it a year at most. Moved on and haven't regretted it.
  5. I prefer off the beaten path activities and avoiding large crowds. This happens to be one of my favorite on Maui and the easiest to explain how to find. On the road to Hana, luckily not too far into the drive is a small farm stand and a sign that says Twin Falls Farm Stand. It's private property but they allow the public, and a purchase or donation at the farm stand is appropriate. It gets some people but nowhere near the traffic of the public and more well known tourist hot spots. Parking can be problematic, it's not a big parking area. You walk behind the farm stand down the trail. Some great, easy to walk trails with creeks and waterfalls. Much more impressive than any you will see on the Road to Hana drive. You can get in and swim the lagoons up to the falls. There are two separate falls, most people don't get past the first thinking that's the main site as it has two down falls. The second fall further down the trail is just as nice. Now the best part is beyond where most people end. There is a gate at what looks like the end of the main trail at the 2nd waterfall. It has a sign on it that discourages most and the gate is shut... but not locked. You can open the gate and continue up the trail. If you follow it, you will have to cross a creek, no more than knee high. Then the trail takes you to an aqueduct system and you follow that to a beautiful secluded waterfall and lagoon. You have to walk through the creek to get to the lagoon in front of the waterfall. There might be a few other people there at most. It's very secluded and picture perfect. Some of the paid hiking tours businesses take people there. But that's the most traffic it sees.
  6. From the article, "The discounted membership will have all the perks associated with Prime, including free streaming video and music, free photo storage, access to the Kindle lending library, ability to shop from Amazon’s Essentials – the retailer’s low-cost line of everyday products, access to Prime Now (where available), and more." Go ahead, enable them to stay home and be a couch potato. Now they can get music and tv/movies for free. I could have understood if Amazon had applied it to EBT qualifying purchases, but this is an excessive marketing maneuver. I can't wait to see the entitlement backlash when Amazon decides to start charging them!
  7. Safety comments aside... a Spyder does not automatically bar you from taking it on a track. Maybe a bit more difficult to find a group/track to run with. The truly competitive will want the coupe, for obvious performance, safety and regulations. But some fun track time for enthusiasts isn't off the table for a Spyder.
  8. So true!. Aside from the tourism industry everything comes to a halt in Europe for July/August. Forget getting anything manufactured during that time. July MAYBE, August not a chance. I learned the hard way once, now I plan for it. In regards to Lamborghini, if I recall correctly, the factory is closed for tours in August. Which indicates there's not enough, if anything going on.
  9. Figured I'd share since I can't be the only Star Wars geek around here!
  10. Car and Driver had an interesting comment in their review that made me stop skimming the article and take it a bit more seriously. "Haydn Baker, the man who led development of the 720S, said his baby is quicker around a circuit than the 675LT was—exceeding the original engineering brief for the project—and admitted that it’s actually faster than the almighty 903-hp P1 around most tracks. That fact alone pretty much justifies the $288,845 price of admission."
  11. In the description about the carfax and title..."You will notice it was involved in a theft and recovery"... thieves must have stolen it in the dark and then ditched it once they saw what it looked like in daylight.
  12. When you get to the magic number of posts, would love to see pics of the install.
  13. LT is LamborghiniTalk I have the same concern, but others who have done it are very satisfied with the outcome and posted up some pics. I think the results may depend on the color/car. For example when my car (not wrapped) was next to an Avio version with matte gray paint, the Avio paint appeared much flatter, matte, than the Grigio titans on mine. So if the two vehicles were wrapped with the same protective film, my guess is that the subtle differentiation in finish would be lost. That's what makes re-painting or repairing matte paint so difficult. With normal gloss paint, to repair, only the color has to be matched and the clear coat is a non-issue. For matte, the difficulty is not only matching the color but also the level of matte/shine/texture of the original finish.
  14. Don't go with the pray and hope nothing happens route. I can tell you from experience that the matte paint is delicate. I don't think it has the same flexion that the regular paint has. Have a new H in Grigio Titans and it was delivered with paint on the front bumper spider webbed. The paint itself had lost adhesion to the bumper panel. Had even started to flake off. It's the whole reason I haven't posted up any new car pics yet... as you can imagine it went back and it was a time consuming process to fix. Diminished the whole new car experience a bit. But dealer and Lamborghini took care of everything without any hassle, so no complaints there. Just has me paranoid about anything related to the paint. I'm sold on wrapping it, but still unsure how well removal process will go. I started a topic on LT about protection advice for matte paint.
  15. Definitely... would love to see pics of all your car renderings. Trust me these guys devolve quickly, you gotta keep them on track. Welcome to the forum!
  16. I don't hate it, has some unique styling. But my first reaction was that the front end "face" reminded me of something... then it clicked, Blobfish!
  17. I love color... the brighter the better... and this is the first time I've ever found myself saying Nooo. Can't bring myself to go for it. The color shift paints were all the rage back in the 90's and early 2000. You would see it on low riders, ricers and mustangs. Fads come back around. Doesnt mean it looks any better the next time. Bigger issue... that paint will be impossible to maintain. The normal gloss color shift paint was impossible to match when they got a chip or scratch. Entire vehicle would have to be repainted. The Lamborghini Matte paint is unforgiving as it is. Add another layer of complexity to the mix... it's just asking for heartache. This will be a pricey paint that will have to get wrapped immediately with protective film for any hope to maintain it.
  18. Key here is ordered from the factory... I've never received one on dealer spec'd cars. Or maybe it's just my dealer. But didn't get one for the Aventador or the Huracan. For that matter, don't get the magazine subscription either. Feel like I'm missing out here.
  19. I have a 2017. Technically took delivery in December. So yes, anything delivered now is a 2017. No major changes. Some additional interior options such as gloss black or matte black, new stitch pattern options. I saw a newly delivered one at dealer with forged carbon interior bits.
  20. Nicely done! Car looks sharp and really stands out!
  21. Yes, a quick non destructive fix is Velcro. Grippy side towards carpet glue side on bottom of floor mat. Pitch the fuzzy strip in trash, don't need it. The industrial strength version works better.
  22. As far as weight reduction, That's the philosophy Lotus is built on... "Simplify, then add lightness" - Colin Chapman
  23. I'm looking forward to a more manually responsive version. I enjoy driving... and as awesome as the end results of all the tech are, that old school feeling is a thrill of its own. A grey metallic roadster pic from last month's unveiling attached
  24. I've experienced this on startup with the Aventador. It was followed by a "Lift system error" message on screen. Turning the car off and letting it sit long enough for the computer to reset resolved the issue with no recurrence. Local tech hadn't heard of a known issue that would cause it.
