  1. The manual for 1999 cars at least calls for Agip Rotra MP/S that includes anti-stickslip additive.
  2. When draining existing oil out of gearbox in my 99.5 roadster, I noticed that the amount of fluid coming out is about 2.6 liters, which is also the amount that can be pumped in before it starts to flow out again. Can anyone confirm this? According to the manual, the total capacity should be 3.5 liters. If only 2.6 liters comes out, where is the rest - in the gearbox oil pump?
  3. Interesting info concerning 99 roadsters. Is it possible to identify the newer heads just by looking at them? Do you have any other info on the gearing changes, what is the difference?
  4. Sorry about digging in the archives... My personal reason for this is that I own a late European Roadster (later than US Millenniums) - I find it interesting that there seems to be a few cars produced after the official Milleniums (sometimes with similar options). In addition, although the US Milleniums are well documented, there is very little info available on European Millenium roadsters (20/30 cars produced)... For example no comprehensive list of VINs, colors etc is available.
  5. BTW Cat´s Exotics describes the car as follows: "1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster finished in Titanium over Black and grey leather interior. Features include Factory OEM Carbon Fiber rear wing, Grey leather inserts, Grey piping, Upgraded shift knob, Alpine CD Player, New Clutch, New Pirelli P-Zero Tires, Tinted windows, Full 3M film protection, fresh service, Upgraded exhaust system and all books, tools, manuals, records, keys and no accidents! This is a very LATE production 99 Roadster, production date 12/99 and received the Diablo 6.0 heads as well as the close ratio 6.0 Gearbox!"
  6. If anyone has access to a service manual for a 6.0 Diablo (or a sample of 6.0 gearboxes... ); Was the letter B used to identify gearboxes in 6.0 Diablos? The reason for asking is that my 99 has a very late VIN (later than US Millennium Edition Roadsters for example), and I am guessing/thinking that maybe this car has the same gearbox as found in the later Diablo models.
  7. Hi, I am a relatively new owner of a European 99 Diablo VT Roadster. Due to my newly found interest for Diablo technical trivia, I decided to check the gearbox number of my car. The number turned out to be “B2419” (see pic). Now, according to the workshop manual (Diablo four wheel drive (VT) MY 97 – 98 -99, Chapter 21, page 6 ): “The different gear ratios are identified by a letter in front of the gear (box) number: no letter: STANDARD letter “C”: short ratios EEC vehicles letter “A”: short ratios USA vehicles” Has this come up before? Logically, B should stand for standard gear ratios, right?
  8. Please take a look at the following car: http://lambo.dk/lse/images/ZA9RU31B9XLA12453_1.jpg, http://lambo.dk/lse/images/ZA9RU31B9XLA12453_2.jpg, http://lambo.dk/lse/images/ZA9RU31B9XLA12453_3.jpg If genuine, it seems to be a US 99 Roadster with two-tone leather and a carbon rear wing. The VIN, XLA12453, is higher than that of any of the Millennium cars you list. Is this car a Millennium or something else?
  9. Just for the record again (and in the hope that it is useful for other prospective Diablo buyers): I have found this video which claims to be of a "Lamborghini Diablo roadster at factory in 1999 fresh off assembly line": In the video, it is very clear that this particular 1999 roadster not only has the old style badges on the rear grill as well as a "Diablo Roadster" badge under the rear wing. If the video is genuine (I cannot understand the Italian spoken...), the conclusion must be that 99 roadsters may have a surprising amount of variation in the OEM badging.
  10. Just for the record: I have found that there are two different kinds of bull emblems. The pre-99 (and apparently a few early MY99) cars have a 3 inch bull in the middle, whereas later MY99 cars have smaller 2 inch bull emblem on the left, before the "Lamborghini" text. Both emblems can be found here: http://www.please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors.com/xq/asp/qx/Category-Emblems.htm
  11. Just found this 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster: http://www.lamborghinihouston.com/vehicle_...ils.aspx?ID=717 The car (XLA12204) has the old style rear emblems and a "Diablo Roadster" -badge. Anyone know this car?
  12. Thanks for the pics emilio & Night Life! BTW: I have found what seems to be a 1999 Roadster (updated interior, new style headlights) with old style rear emblems: http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9942.htm http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9943.htm http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9941.htm Perhaps some very early 1999 models still had the old style rear emblems? However, the above car does not appear to have the "Diablo Roadster" badge at all. Can anyone confirm whether any 1999 Roadsters had the "Diablo Roadster" badge?
  13. The reason for my question is that I am considering buying a 1999 Diablo Roadster (pics here: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?...mp;hl=roadster). For some reason or another, the car in question has the following (unique?) combination of emblems on the real grille: "Lamborghini" text on the left – Picture of bull in the middle – “VT” text on the right side In addition, the car has the "Diablo Roadster" badge under the rear wing...
  14. After looking at a number of pictures of Diablo Roadsters, it would appear to me that the emblems on the rear grille are different on 1999 Roadsters versus older cars. Specifically, on 1999 Roadsters the rear grille would seem to have the following emblems (from left to right): Picture of bull & “Lamborghini” text on the left side – nothing in the middle – “VT” text on the right side Whereas older Diablo Roadsters appear to always have the following: Nothing on the left side – Picture of bull in the middle – “VT” text on the right side Furthermore, only the pre-1999 cars would seem to have the “Diablo Roadster” badge on the rear deck (approximately under the rear wing). Is my above understanding correct? Are there any differences between the placement of emblems and badges between European and US Diablo Roadsters?
  15. Thanks all, this was very valuable information!
