Also I have seen someone cut away the heat sheilds before.
-
Maybe someone wrapped/bagged them to keep the engine compartment cooler. Cars run hot. And as for removing them it can be done without removing the engine. Like ab said u can remove the motor mount bolts lift tthe engine a little and they will come out.
-
There is alot more than just pulling the manifold. The exhaust is in the way. From what I remember you must pull the starter out and work it towards the back. But first getting the bolts loose on the starter is a mission in itself. Not much room for movement even when u modify wrenches. I can tell you how I did it if u want to know or u get stuck in the process PM me. I have done it several times. But again its been 4 years.

The Part number is in the cross reference section of the Diablo Forum.. Bosch # 0 258 003 032 which also cross referenced to the number that ab has supplied Bosch # 0 258 003 957 Here is a cross refernece link.... http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/mcrossref.htm It does work in alot of other cars beside 95 Audi A6 Quattro. The Part number that Most auto parts stores use is Bosch #13396 I hope this helps..
