  1. Man, I wish I took the investment part of this thread more seriously. I never bought and NVDA shares during all of this. Holy shit do I regret that. Congrats to all that made bank. I should have known better.
  2. I kinda like it. also, when's the last time a car with popup headlights hit the market? 30 years?
  3. That's the right color for that car, but I really don't like those wheels in the slightest way. IMO they ruin the look.
  4. That guy is blowing smoke up your ass. I have a miner running at 97Mh/s right now and it's on track to bring in $170 this month. The difficulty keeps ramping up, which makes coins harder to attain. 3 moniths ago, he probably did pull in that much. Not anymore. For Ether mining, the pot is drying up. If you don't already have hardware, don't expect to make your initial investment back quickly. You'll have to repurpose the miner for different coins soon anyway. Ethereum is changing from Proof of Work (mining) to Proof of Stake (like stock ownership) in the coming months, which will wipe out mining Ethereum completely.
  5. Sorry for your loss. A dear friend of mine passed away at 25 from a similar affliction.
  6. I've been around LP for longer than I can remember. By far, the longest running frequent visit for me. I was still in high school when I first discovered LP. It was months after the forum first started. Alan had a lotus esprit, and a Diablo SV. I lost track of that account at some point. Took a couple years break for a while. Then I found my way back and have been almost a daily visitor since. This place has been a wild ride. Twin turbo lambos. Pagani, Koenigsegg, bugatti, Veneno builds. Mind blowing stuff. Things have been slowing down lately, and I hope that's a temporary thing. I fcuking love this place. Even though I lurk 90% of the time.
  7. There was only a little more than 400 jalpas made and several of them are no more. Considering how high prices of pretty much any older exotic, this price seems to be realistic to me.

  9. The music sells it for sure.
  10. I completely forgot to congratulate FikseSTS. That's a hell of a car. looking forward to watching the order process unfold. Ferrari's gotta go
  11. Pretty surprising to see some of the people who got an allocation and some of the people who didn't. Clearly there are a few people here that deserve the car more than others that got one. g-force not getting one is suprising after the list of cars he said he's owned. I remember abolfaz ordered a Ford GT when they were still new. And then there's this jackhole that plays minecraft on youtube that got one. https://twitter.com/CaptainSparklez?ref_src...7Ctwgr%5Eauthor I'm not hating on youtubers, i think its great that people can make a good living off of making videos for people. But 10 million followers on a youtube channel that is about playing minecraft does not equal big exposure for the car. He has a mclaren 650lt right now and there's no much content on his social media about it. then there's this story from solomondrin on youtube about his friend who's races Ford GTs and currently owns 3 of them that didn't get a slot. So much for being good to your loyal customers.
  12. Stories and actions like this are what make LP the best damn site on the Internet. Rather than a bunch of stuck up pretentious rich guys, this place brings out the classiest people out there. I remember this thread from 4 years ago. Brought tears to my eyes then, and you guys did it again. Such an amazing act of generosity and kindness. Doesn't take much on your end, but this type of thing has lasting impacts on the receiving end. I hope to see more stories like this on LP in the future.
  13. liked. good luck. When i clicked on the video i wasn't sure what to expect. After watching it, I agree with the group. You seem like a shoe-in for an allocation.

  15. This whole situation is an utter tragedy. The fire started on sunday. The way things were going they didn't expected to to head towards the city so there was no evacuation. the following day the wind changed and the fire ripped towards town. By tuesday shit go real and on Wednesday the city was basically burned to ashes. A nearby town on the opposite side of a lake from there got evacuated today because the fire is expected to wrap around the shorline. This video paints an even more harrowing picture of what's it was like yesterday. and this one, which i can't embed, shows the area that it spread across and the timeline. https://www.facebook.com/cbcedmonton/videos...08/?pnref=story Thankfully there have been some incredible people and companies that have stepped up. Labatt Breweries halted beer production and started canning water. The company is shipping free cases of canned waters up to those in need. Westjet airlines sent a dozen or so planes to a nearby rural airstrip and had the workers at a nearby oil rig who were stranded with no way out sent to edmonton for free. An edmonton man loaded up his pickup with as many jerry cans of fuel, water, food, diapers, hygiene supplies and headed towards the chaos, giving away everything for free to anyone in need. It's an unimaginable tragedy, but there's been some incredible acts of kindness and humanity that have come out of it.
  16. For those joking that it doesn't look like the tumbler, that's because it's not supposed to. The car is a replica of the batmob Ile from the Arkham Knight video game. Thing looks incredible in terms of being a replica. Not a great looking car, but it looks exactly like what it was modeled after.
  17. It's nothing special around here, but I put my deposit down for my Genesis Coupe on May 5 2009. Received the car on August 12 2009. I didn't even get the one I ordered. I settled for a different trim so that I could get it before October.
  18. You sir, are a true hero. Now excuse me, I think someone's cutting onions in here.
  19. I remember these pictures and some of the members that owned them. Not many usernames though. I remember the blue murcie. I drooled over that many times. The red one, wasn't that alans at one point?
  20. just because this is a Lambo forum doesn't mean we shouldn't be realistic. Lamborghini still makes some wonderful machines, but the one-off bespoke cars coming from Pagani and Koenigsegg are the stuff dreams are made of.
  21. this car is unreal! I loved the Veneno, but Bugatti did it way better. This is nuts, it's a shame no one will ever really get to own it.
  22. Nothing out right now is actually retail. the stuff you can get is all developer kit stuff (even the samsung GearVR is technically a dev kit). The real consumer grade products are just around the corner. HTC Vive is coming out later this year. October will be the reveal of the consumer product and it will be in the hands of limited number of people by Christmas. The Vive will include 2 wand like controllers (similar to PS Move), and a tracking system that lets you walk around in a 15'x15' space in virtual reality. The retail version of the oculus rift is coming out sometime if the first quarter of next year. It will come bundled with an Xbox One controller. When both of these headsets hit the market there will be a half dozen or so games for each platform with some of them being available on both headsets. There will be plenty of support for virtual reality in games over the coming year. As for motion sickness, it's possible that you would, but both HTC (partnered with Valve) and Oculus (owned by Facebook) have spent significant money and time on R&D to mitigate any kind of sickness. Oculus has stated that when the headset hits the market, there should be little to no motion sickness insidents. Several game devs are working on tech to help with this, and both AMD and Nvidia have technology to limit motion sickness.
  23. Set the rift up in extended mode (this will only work until the next iteration of the SDK later this month). Launch the game on a 1080p screen. Since the game and menus in AC are two different windows, you can drag the game window to the rift. This lets you play the game in VR, while using the menues on a real monitor. If you have a wheel, then you NEED to try it. There's nothing else more immersive than to feel a wheel and pedals at the same time as seeing it happen in VR.
  24. I'm a massive fan of VR. Been playing around with it since the DK1. I'm involved in organizing part of a pop culture convention in the city and I've helped demo the Rift to thousands of people in the last 2 years. It's an amazing piece of technology. Can't wait to get a retail one. I have not had the chance to try a Vive, but we may have one at our next event in October as a local developer has one and is interested in coming to show it off. Virtual reality is going to be a MASSIVE industry. right now, only a tiny subset of people have had the chance to try it out. Once the retail versions are in stores, and available to consumers to try out, the hardware will sell faster than you can imagine. Of the likely 3000 people I've shown the DK2 to, I've never met a single person that tried it and wasn't completely amazed. 90% of people as how much and where can they get one as soon as the demo finishes. Alien Isolation is really actually a pretty bad example of what's available. If you really want to be blown away, try out some of the stuff that's actually been designed for VR. Alien Isolation had it added in, but the company said it has no intention of making it available with a patch. It was made for a tech demo at a trade show as a one-time thing. The code was uncovered after the game was released. If you like racing games, both Assetto Corsa and Project Cars have official support for VR. The menu's don't work yet, but the gameplay is amazing. Starcitizen and Elite Dangerous also have Rift support if you want to try a space simulation out. Most first person shooters don't work well because it can cause dissorientation when you are moving in game, but not actually moving in real life. Games were you are naturally sitting feel much more believable.
