    VECTOR VECTOR VECTOR
  1. Allan, reread what I said. The yellow W8 had been fully torn apart by a non qualified garage that did not even get all the original parts back together. And again, you have not experienced a W8 with its full performance. The Auto Panache W8 was just another case of unqualified mechanics working on the car. That Agassi story is nonsense. He was not even supposed to get the car before it was fully assembled by the manufaturer. Then he showed up at the facility with two lawyers insiting that he gets the car delivered for his birthday. He agreed in a written statement that the car would be delivered to his home for show and display only and NOT be driven. The car would have been picked up the next day and returned to the factory for final assembly. Well, the next thing we hear from 20. year old Agassis, is that he took the car for a spin in the Nevada desert and tells the press, of course, that it was not his fault the car broke down and overheated. This is a case where a 20 year old kid destroyed the reputation of America´s finest supercar manufacturer because the Vector PR machine was not well enough funded to counter Agassi´s worldwide press coverage. Again, a properlly maintained W8 will outrun any Countach any day. And you show me one exotic car built in those days that has better panel gaps and build quality than a VECTOR. Have you ever seen an F40 from close? They should have taggedl it FIAT F40. And the 650hp figure is even exceded by quite a few W8s. Tested on the dyno, a few W8s have more than 750hp. Again, no other exotic car from the early 1990´s showed any similar performance.
  2. Allan, you mentioned the poor build quality of the yellow W8 before. But we all know that that yellow W8 had been taken fully apart by that Porsche place in Ft. L. and never been reassembled properly. A Vector W8 that is maintained properly will outrun any Countach at any day. Come on, 650+ hp versus less than 455hp? You never really experienced a true W8. In the meantime this yellow has been with two new owners who spent an incredible effort, time and money to get that yellow W8 back to its original state and performance. The car is currently residing in Spain and the owner is happyly enjoying it. It´s his favorite car in his collection. No Countach will outrun this yellow W8 any more.

  4. Bear in mind Jerry Wiegert built the VECTOR with his philosophy: aerospace technology for the street. Therefore the W8 interior resembles a jet fighter cockpit. The instrument panels are from an F16 etc. The build quality of a W8 is actually superior to any car that was built in those days.
  5. I have driven a few W8s including the yelllow chassis 012: http://www.youtube.com/vectorfiles The car you drove had been mistreated by the owner who then sold it to California where it was brought back into very nice shape. Again, I know many W8 owners and they all kept or still keep their W8 for many years. Most of them have been owners for more than 10 years. The M12 is a different story though.
  6. I bet you have not driven a VECTOR but the Indonesian kitcar the M12 which Jeremy Clarkson from Topgear called the "worst car of the entire planet" In that case I would agree. The build quality of the M12 appears to be one of the poorest on any car ever built. But the W8 set new standards for supercares. Actually the W8 defined the league of supercars, long before any other manufacturer could reach these figures of hp and vmax. There must be a reason that VECTOR W8 owners keep their car for 10 years and more. M12 cars change hands every couple of weeks. There are three or four M12s on the market every year.
  7. I know two Murci owners who sold their Murci because they got bored and preferred their Diablo and Countach. To me, the Audi Lambos are not as exciting any more.
  8. Believe me, I would have loved to shoot a video that day. Unfortunately, the camera failed and all I got for months of preparing this event was the photos. I would much rather have added a video with driving cars to my VECTORfiles channel: http://www.youtube.com/vectorfiles For next year I plan for a VECTOR reunion of all four VECTOR W8s currently based in Europe.
  9. I bet you have never seen or driven a VECTOR W8, not to be confused with the Indonesian M12 kitcar called a Vector. The two hour ride in the Audi Aventador were really disappointing. I have never felt so bored. This car has lost all Italian flair. Being a German the car really could not thrill me at all. It felt too German.
  10. On Nov 5 the new Lambo Aventador met its rivals from the past: Aventador meets VECTOR W8 and Enzo ! http://www.carpassion.com/amerikanische-ma...-vector-13.html Aventador meets Enzo and VECTOR! http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/4640/img7376bvf.jpg http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/9412/img7310bvf.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/5234/img7309bvf.jpg http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/7006/img7307bvf.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4323/img7399bvf.jpg http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/4518/img7405bvf.jpg http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/7848/img7406bvf.jpg http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/3921/img7414bvf.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1579/img7416bvf.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/8818/img7417bvf.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9286/img7419bvf.jpg http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1576/img7422bvf.jpg http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8489/img7427bvf.jpg http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2894/img7476bvf.jpg http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/5504/img7272bvf.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/7453/img7273bvf.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9145/img7291bvf.jpg http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/6783/img7292bvf.jpg http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/7528/img7294bvf.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3715/img7295bvf.jpg http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/5601/img7296bvf.jpg
