Ahhh... I see. Well, thank you for your help. Since most of my questions have been answered and I've conducted a fair amount of research, I'm ready to purchase a second generation Gallardo (MY06-08).... when I find one with the options mentioned in this thread at a reasonable price, I'll be sure to share the extraordinary experience with everyone here, but I don't think it'll be TOO soon because it'll take time to find the appropriate car. And another question I was dying to ask: How low does the speed of the car has to be before the hydraulic front bumper lift can activate to pass the bump? Or.... does it have to be completely stopped?

45k miles... wow, that's startling and beautiful! Sounds like the Giro event was rather long in distance, but the exciting Gallardo had no problem with it. Hope you had plenty of fun! This G-car still has a lot in store to come.

As posted before, a professional driver could probably equalize the shifting speed of a manual with a MY03-05, but MY06 until present day and future.... gosh... it's ridiculous!

Yup, just hold the brakes, but release them once you are ready to launch. Or, for our cause... "Thrust". (And from the Lamborghini Press, they refer to the E-Gear launch system as "Thrust Mode" from MY06 to present day... ever since they added the 20 extra hp and revamped the gear ratio). Really? EDIT: Never mind... you're right. I just took a look at the LP560-4 Top Gear episode. Haha...

Maybe a look at Rami's video above can help... Hold on brake, release them and then slap gas pedal with ESP off and SPORT on, the best way I can describe it. I thought this might happen because of the long 1st gear and longer gear ratios. Wow, could really tell how much stress you put the 07 under just by looking at it; let's hope you don't need to replace a P Zero Costa right after that. On the LP560, I need someone to confirm this, because I don't have any Lambo's yet.... but I believe it's like this: Put the car in CORSA mode, turn off the traction control (ESP), and put your foot on the brake while building revs to near 5000 rpms and release the brake, flooring afterwards. EDIT: Jeff got there before me!

That's just what I want to do as well. Although mine will probably have hundreds of thousands of miles.

I see, so the E-Gear system sorts out some adjustments when someone enters/leaves the car... that's interesting. As for "normal" mode, I'm assuming that it's similar to SPORT, but it's not as aggressive and not so hard on the engine/clutch. E-Gear seems really neat, but I've heard how many prefer the manual over it, so it just makes my choice harder. E-Gear seems to be better for my location though with plenty of traffic--especially how you don't have to keep your foot on the brake to avoid the small forward movement. And because it's somewhat automated/automatic, I predict the clutch won't burn as much and may last longer than a 6-spd. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks for the advice/info; I feel bad for you since your Superleggera doesn't have those features, but I guess that's how you shred 154 pounds and accelerate 0-60 just as fast as a 1st-gen Murci. So, best way to keep away from those unfortunate disasters is to not overfill the fuel tank and watch how much is being pumped. Also, I'm aware how the MY06 and onwards Gallardo's are better than the 04 and 05 because of a revised suspension and steering rack as well as the 20hp increase and lowered gear ratios so that there's all-out improvement in handling, acceleration, speed. Yet, what is with the newer exhaust system that is supposedly more dynamic? I also have heard that there's a switch to make the noise quieter in town... is this true? And for MY08, is iPod connectivity stock? Or are there cars that don't have it? As for 2008, Lamborghini added an onboard computer to the Gallardo, but wasn't it already there?

Congrats! How nice... it's tremendously rewarding to see new-age Lamborghini's becoming more and more durable & reliable.

You cannot use the SD card to watch movies, but the Nav/DVD slot should be able to play DVDs with no problems (since the system is equivalent to the Audi Navigation Plus head unit), and I think that films would be a great pastime on really long cruises/trips when stopped in rest areas, to not hinder with the driving experience, but to add on some entertainment!

Yes--with the traction control off, thanks for the info as well. I was just doing some research beforehand and when I came across your post, I saw that you were right.

I did forget to say this, but firstly congrats on the car, and I hope you make the most out of every moment with it. Yes, the 6CD Changer is located in the trunk, but the DVD insert behind the Audi MMI is used for the Navigation/Maps DVD.
