  1. Very much so. I installed an AEM wideband gauge, made some mods to the 2-circuit Dominator and got it running very clean. Idle is a very choppy 800 RPM, light throttle and cruise is about 14:1 to 15:1 air/fuel ratio, and WOT is about 13:1 air/fuel. Doesn't load up, or foul plugs or burn the eyes. Very good street manners. I need to weigh the car. My guess is 3200 pounds.
  2. It's a newly built combo and hasn't been to the track yet. It has a TH400 with Transbrake, 5000 stall, a Dana 60 rear with 4.56 gears. It has 3 1/2 inch dual exhaust running all the way out the back. On the street it'll blow the tires off in first and second gear. Heat the tires up and it'll pull the front wheels. By my calculations it should be in the 9's. It sure is a lot of fun!
  3. I picked this one up a few months ago. 523 cubic inch engine, 746 HP on the dyno with no NOS. 1000 HP with a 250 shot.
  4. Silver is a good color ... but I always prefer wild colors on the Lambos. Orange being my fav.
  5. Congrats on your new snake! The car looks stunning. I love that colour combo. Remember to drive the snake with respect, or it may bite you.
  6. OMG. Some people shouldn't be breeding.
  7. Here would be my pick. Tag Heuer Aqua Racer... http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/aqu...=CAF1010.BA0821 Here is another angle: http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/aqu...dex.lbl?lang=en Auto-winder w/o digi: http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/aqu...=WAF2010.BA0818
  8. I believe you've been watching the movie "The Game" starring Michael Douglas. Great flick, and his 18th birthday present buys him a bus ride across the border. I believe it was a 24k Cartier. "A man with a watch like that, doesn't necessarily have a passport problem..."
  9. Is the dyno chart available? I would like to see the HP/Tq curves. Thx.
  10. I see there is a lot of discussion about the 08's and more specifically, the ACR. Having owned a 2006 and recently acquiring the new 2008 ACR, I have noticed a number of improvements that are worth mentioning. The engine is massively improved. Variable cam timing, which alters the lobe separation angle between the intake and exhaust lobes, has broadened the power range of the engine, smoothed out the idle and added a couple MPG in gas mileage. Driving my 06 around in a parking lot was hell because of the rough idle, which caused the car to buck at slow speeds (we called this 'herk and jerk'). The 08 has no issue whatsoever at slow speeds. The engine for 08 now displaces 515 cubic inches (8.4L) instead of 505 (8.3L), and sports CNC'd cylinder heads with lightweight hollow valves. The valvetrain is now stable to 6400 RPM, versus 5700 for the 2003-2006 models. Also the oil pump has a swing-arm pickup which eliminates starvation when pulling high G's. The transmission is stronger and shifting seems a bit easier going into each gate. The rear diff is better. Many viper owners in the past would ditch the factory rear differential in favor of a Quaife. I've read that the differential for the 08's have been greatly improved and offers performance very close to that of the Quaife unit. No more unpredictable rear end 'kick outs'. The car launches straight and confidently. The 2008 now has true side-pipes instead of crossing the left bank to exit the right side of the vehicle and vise-versa. The exhaust is notably louder, which isn't a bad thing at all. Plus the cabin temperatures are greatly reduced. This was always a major pain point with the 2003-06 models, especially in the hot southern states (and Florida!). The tires are no comparison. The 2003-2006 came equipped with run-flats (run craps), which were horrible. These were ditched for 2008, about time. The ACR comes with street-legal competition tires that almost look like slicks. Not for wet roads of course, they offer a tremendous traction advantage and grip the road like glue. They measure almost 14 1/2 inches wide, so looking at the car from the rear looks very sinister. The standard viper for 2008 is better for straight-line racing and can achieve top speeds much higher than the ACR. A recent test for the ACR (salt flats) netted a top speed of around 173 MPH. The downforce does have it's price. The ACR has a fully adjustable competition suspension. Shocks are adjustable in regards to dampening and ride height. Two piece Stop-Tech rotors, combined with the lightweight Sidewinder rims shed about 40lbs of rotating weight. There is a 'hardcore' option that eliminates the stereo, amps and speakers, and also eliminates some padding under the hood and the trunk area, shedding another 40lbs. Since mine will see a lot of street duty, I opted for the radio with built-in satellite radio and GPS/NAV. The ACR does not come equipped with fog lamps (although I did see one ACR shipped to Canada that did have them). I am not aware of any option to eliminate the A/C. I haven't had a chance to take it to the track yet (just took delivery last week), so I can't comment on it's race mannerisms, but on the street it is joy to drive. I would drive this thing anywhere really. The power band is broad with lots of torque. The engine pulls stronger and to a higher RPM (peaks around 6100). The rear wing absolutely does not obstruct the view out the rear mirror (although it does get peoples attention). The front splitter has a removable middle section that can be removed for the street (wouldn't want to bump a curb with it). When I drove my 06 around, people would look on occasion, but when I drive the ACR, it almost causes accidents. If you compare the 'awe factor', it makes my 06 look like a daily driver. The ACR just screams 'batmobile'. It's a lot of fun to drive and I hope to keep this one for a long time (until I get the itch to buy a Murci or something).
  11. Here is an overlay video of the ACR and a ZR1. Both are impressive. http://blog.andibaritchi.com/2008/08/viper...de-by-side.html
  12. He should put it on Ebay, with a huge reserve, just to see what kind of bidding it gets. Someone out there would love to have it, and if he sold it, the money could fund the guy's next 10 projects.
  13. One of my Rolexes is the stainless & gold submariner with diamonds on each hour. It's probably the most bling that I can handle. I believe they run about $10k these days.
