  1. Probably smarter to hit up the Countach Registry. I have a 1984 5000S but don't know how I could help you.
  2. If the vehicle spent any amount of time outdoors - and unless it's super-low miles then it probably did in the past 13 years - that part will crack upon removal. It's heavily glued, and the sun makes the plastic brittle. My first Murcielago was just 4 years old when I got it and it cracked on it's own. A good body man or windshield guy can remove that trim. Get a new one from Lamborghini.
  3. When Diablo's starting coming back into flavor, the early cars didn't get much love. So you've got these ex-rental/strip club owner/daytrader cars that were bandaged fast and cheap. Those should only be undertaken out of love, because there isn't a payoff. Don't get me wrong - I think that ALL Diablo's are very cool. But the words nice and early Diablo definitely should not be in a listing for a the low 100's car.
  4. Thanks for explaining - I appreciate it. I think the move is to cosmetically bring it back from those garish visuals - and then just drive it for the fun of it. It would be cool to remake the correct Jota wheels, though if they were originally 17" then I'd do them in 18".
  5. https://www.ebay.com/itm/312919013161 Is this a real Jota? Or a creation? If it is a factory Jota that was customized, I think that this price is quite low.
  6. Black mid-80's Countach (no disco sidesills) Wingless Diablo
  7. Congratulations on the purchase. Don't mess with those wheels if you ever want to turn them back to original. Notwithstanding their disassembly and re-assembly after color-change (and again back to chrome, later), re-chroming wheels that were once chrome is arduous and perfection is not guaranteed. We've just spent two years restoring a set of Alpine Edition wheels and from fasteners to re-chroming to sealing, it's been a challenge. Better to get some other set of wheels and just store these. Personally I like the Work Wheels Meister S1 (shown below), though they don't accept center caps. Also, we have brand-new (NOS) OEM Diablo SV wheels.
  8. Passionate people travel the globe seeking great cars. I've caught Hershel literally getting on a plane to some place just to check out a car. And they've had less than perfect cars and were quick to disclose shortcomings (not every 25 year old exotic has perfect paint, you know). I trust Herchel and John at We Are Curated. P.S. John Sr. helped out with diagnosing some challenges on my SV a few years ago while it was sitting at Lamborghini Palm Beach, and I appreciate his unsolicited help.
  9. First and foremost, there has to be someone at the manufacturer, who actually gives a shit. Two examples: You're driving and at excessive speed you pass an off-duty cop on his way home. He doesn't do anything, because it's not his business at the moment to do so, though he well could. He just does his job, and won't act unless he is told to. Case very close to this: parent company is Volkswagen AG, who also owns Porsche. There's a guy in Doral (Miami) committing criminal fraud by getting cheap Chinese replica wheels and having them made with the Porsche markings on them - and then selling them as authentic. He's been doing it for four years now via ebay and is up to 500 different listings for Porsche, Range Rover, and especially Mercedes-Benz. He is doing this right out in the open of the internet. Anyone can and does easily find these wheels. Conservative estimates of sales now exceed $2M since the fraud began. Be assured that Porsche (and Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar-Land Rover, and Volkswagen) have been notified repeatedly, as well as their respective law offices of record. For the past four years and right up to this moment, nobody - anywhere - gives a shit, so the fraud continues. It's easy to think that the whole world is watching and step out just once and the Law will reign down. The reality, is no one cares - no one wants to do extra work. Until their boss finally tells them to. Go ahead and make your design. Nothing will happen.
  10. They gave you a new series Phantom?!
  11. I've always wanted to have sex with you. But now I won't even bring condoms!
  12. Great memory. And that federal arrest reads like an episode of E! Who says the era of the scam artist died in the 80's? Filming your captain snorting blow! JERRY! JERRY!
  13. Don't know how I missed this thread, but my Son's head about exploded when Bill passed us early one morning on his way to the gym. That is the most intense blue that I've ever seen on an automobile. Bill has amazing taste and vision in cars, and those wheels are perfect. He's easily had 30 or 40 brand new cars in the 14 years that I've known him and there wasn't a loser in the lot. I remember that he was the very first to truly build a Jeep in the modern style - years before anyone else did. BMW 7-Series, Cayennes, CGT, Ranges, I lost count of how many McLaren's, my all-time favorite Gallardo ever, and on and on and on. But Bill - would it kill you for just once to buy a Cadillac 'Grats man. Use it in good health. P.S. Throwback
  14. The 2 top bidders, bid like rookies. Should have remained in the shadows, waited til final seconds or used a sniping service, and bid $190k. Would have likely won at under $187k. The winner was just a little luckier than the #2 bidder.
  15. Reserve has been met on the SV and someone will be the winner tonight. Based on it still being for sale and having a Best Offer option, the Roadster can probably be had in the mid $160k range.
  16. Sorry to have to disagree mate, but same ebay username and same location. Yellow 2001 6.0 two years ago: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Lamborghini-D...=p2047675.l2557 Current Black SV: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232848209541
  17. Somebody paid $220k 2 years ago (April) when it had 19k miles https://www.ebay.com/itm/291744821468 Then they ran it through Mecum that summer https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0816-244452/19...hini-diablo-sv/
  18. I knew something caught my eye about the seller's username. This is the guy who had the high-mileage yellow 6.0liter nearly two years ago. I was trying to buy that car when my buddy came out of the blue to finally sell me his that I'd been chasing for 12 years. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232043567756 But - why does this guy keep getting high mileage Diablo's? Some type of a small dealer or something. I was having a hassle reaching him on the yellow car due to a death in the family or something. And of-course, Roy ended up with the yellow car. Who wants to bet that Roy gets the Black SV now as-well?
  19. Anyone else think that these prices are a little light? I might go after the SV just so mine can have a sister: https://www.ebay.com/sch/lambodiablo6.0/m.h...=p2047675.l2562
  20. Hercules wheels (introduced on the Murcielago Roadster) have always been strong. They were good out of the box and still are today. If we had a set to sell we'd get $6k for them.
  21. Haven't ever seen a set of the Titanium Hercules wheels in-person and I'm in the business. I've seen a picture or two but those wheels are extremely rare, practically a Bespoke option. Shouldn't be too hard to get the paint code and someone referenced one above. If you already have Hercules wheels as-shown in the images then just paint them. As-stated several times on this forum, I owned your car in 2010 and 2011 and know the history of it - clearly before I got it and even for a few years after it was gone. It even showed up in a Phoenix CraigsList ad two years ago. It actually was a really nice car when I sold it but the gherkin who bought it was an attention-whore. It was in a pretty sad-looking state by the time I saw that CraigsList ad, so to hear all of the love that it's been getting lately put a smile on my face. Here's the detailed thread I posted when I saw that CraisgList ad: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?...c=79454&hl= Great video (and you have a super 'radio' voice!). Let me know if you have any questions about your gated LP640.
  22. Scorpius. Best wheels for that car; love it.
  23. Well shot and a ton of fun. Great collection. Donuts in a Countach! Blasphemy! Hilarious!
  24. Caveat: I'm biased. Yes, I'm a tire snob. There - I said it. Plus, I'm in the industry. I think that the Corsa's are great tires. The trade-off? They wear very quickly. Tires are a very interesting consumer product, because they contain so many different variables - many of which are at opposition with each other: dry traction versus wet traction. All-season ability. Noise. Wear. Prestige. Appearance. Endurance (road catastrophes). And of-course - price. It's difficult to find another consumer product in such high use, with so many conflicting variables, as automobile tires. But most of-all: AVAILABILITY. Again, I'm in the industry. And we've capitalized on times - WHEN YOU JUST CAN'T GET ANY TIRES AT ALL IN THE SIZE THAT YOU NEED. Hey - that's capitalism. It's not gouging because these are want items, not NEED items like food/water/shelter. (because we're talking about luxury/specialty cars and not someone's daily-driver Camry). But my point is - balance you're want, with your NEED. There aren't many choices in this size. And sometimes, none at all.
