  1. I actually took the base seats from the P1 and 675LT. They have a narrow and regular option. I got the regular option which is the wider seat. I’m 5’11” 185 and fit in them fine. If you’ve sat in a modern Porsche GT car with the Light Weight Buckets, these are very much alike. I didn’t go for the Senna seats as they would have held the car up a bit. I was an early adopter and wanted the car. I also don’t mind the look of the P1 seats. As an aside, you can also opt for the full power seats which aren’t bad either. McLaren has a nice range here. Let me know if I can be of any help. Enjoy your test drive. The car is little hellion. I love it.
  2. Hi kmr, I have experience with the Performante and 600LT. Have driven a 488 as well. I’ll talk about the Performante and 600LT first, as those both have been in my garage. Both are great cars and it’s a matter of taste. I’ll tell you my pick of the two at the end. Exterior Design: this is subjective, of course. From the front, they are both aggressive. I love the front end of the Performante. The improvement over the base Huracan is very nice to my eye. It says, get out of the way! The McLaren looks nice too but the edge goes to the Performante. Side styling is a virtual tie with McLaren edging the Lambo because the doors go up. Back end is no contest. 600LT takes this one. The top exit exhausts, tail lights, and that huge rear diffuser make for a great backside. Interior: both have great interiors. It’s easier to get in and out of the Performante. But both have plenty of room once you’re in. The race seats in the Performante suck. Avoid them. The carbon fiber on the race seats also doesn’t match the forged carbon on the dash trim. The standard power seats are much more comfortable and provide plenty of lateral support. Just my opinion. The McLaren can be had with full carbon interior which I recommend. It’s bare carbon whereas the external pieces are gloss. The switch gear in the Mac is of higher quality. Those switches in the middle of the Perf always felt a bit cheap to me. Lambo has the better Nav. With the Bower and Wilkins stereo option, the Mac has the superior radio. It’s a great system and I’d recommend finding a car with that option. 12 speakers in that small cabin sound very nice. Powertrain and Performance: both cars have great engines. The V10 in the Perf is an incredible motor. Virtually bulletproof and sounds incredible. McLaren sounds actually very good because of the top exit exhausts but the Lambo sound can’t be matched. Speed isn’t everything but I’ll give you my impressions and you can look around the web to compare as well. From 0-30/60, the Perf is quicker. Past that point, it’s going to get walked by the 600LT. It won’t be pretty. From a roll, the 600LT all day. Sorry to the Perf owners but it’s going to get its ass handed to it. The only way the Perf keeps up is if the 600LT can’t get traction, which could happen if the tires are cold on the LT. Handling: the Perf speaks for itself here. We all know what it did at the ring. And you know from driving one that it’s lap time is genuine. Thing just claws it’s way around corners. The ALA in concert with AWD make this car punch way above its weight. The LT just can’t corner quite as well. It’s under tired but purposely so. It only has 285 section rear tires. But they are Trofeo R’s and do a remarkable job of providing grip when they are WARM. You have to warm the tires up on this car. Then it becomes a great driving companion. It’s definitely more playful than the Performante. You can step the tail out and have some fun or cast your line and stick to it. It’s a rewarding car to drive. The steering in the Mac is better. It’s still a hydraulic unit and communicates much better than the Perf. The Perf goes where you want it to but the rack is electric and doesn’t quite have the feedback. The steering on the Mac is Porsche GT like. Probably better! My conclusion: deciding between these two is really hard. It’s a personal decision. You may want to take depreciation into consideration. I left that out. Macs have generally not faired well. With that being said, I feel this is the best McLaren on sale right now. The 720 is an incredible machine but has been way over produced IMO. If I’m not mistaken, approximately 1000 600LT coupes exist worldwide and they are now primarily producing 600LT Spiders. This would make the LT more rare than the Performante. But the Performante will most likely hold value beacuase of brand recognition. If money is not a concern, my vote goes to the LT. Not a popular answer here, I know. The Performante is an exceptional car. For me, most of my driving is on the street. There, the Mac just feels a bit more lively. Lighter on its feet and more engaging. That is probably a lot due to it being rear wheel drive. It’s got more than enough power and those flames are a bonus. This is all opinion of course. Go drive both and make a judgment call. You can’t go wrong either way! As to the 488. It’s a fine car. Fast, capable, but not as edgy as the other two. It’s the GT of the three. More comfortable, easier to get in and out of. Give it a try too. Will be good to hear what you come back with. Good Luck.
  3. Crazy world we live in. The car I was looking at is still on their website. It looks to be a nice GT3 but I’ve been waiting the market out as I’m not a huge fan of paying over MSRP. Thanks for sharing that information abolfaz.
  4. Like Charlie, I’m on the list. I’m fortunate to have a great relationship with my dealer and sales advisor. He’s actually a good friend and doesn’t require a deposit until we place the order. At the time of order, I have to place a 25K deposit which he sends directly to McLaren. I think there will be plenty to go around if you want one. I can PM you his info if you would like. Pricing should be announced at Goodwood this weekend.
  5. Back to the car...I actually like it! The aero and exhaust (even if it's lifted from the 918) really makes this a great looking car. I have no doubt it will be a great track car with almost Performante levels of performance. It will never sound as good or have the Lambo presence, that's a given--I never get tired of hearing my Performante roar to life or the drive. The Perf is in a league on its own. The 600LT strikes me as a direct competitor to the GT3RS. Both are great cars but it's a matter of taste. Do you want the German scalpel or British razor? Value aside, I think the 600LT wins my vote. Of course, I would need to drive both to make a fair comparison I think the RS may be a touch quicker on some tracks and slower on others. What I have little doubt about is that in straight line, the RS is going to get walked. Looks are subjective too but Mac wins this contest hands down. Also, the Porsche GT market here in the States is a little crazy now too. They're fetching over MSRP which makes the RS proposition less appealing. It's a great car but not worth a 30-50K premium. So, I may be placing a deposit on the LT. I think it would be a good stablemate for the Performante. McLaren is maturing quickly and doing a nice job with their line up. They are making the other manufacturers compete at a higher level, which is good for all of us.
  6. Hey Everyone, I’m ready to purchase a .2 GT3. I think it will nicely compliment my Performante and would complete my dream garage. I have always been a fan of Porsche GT cars. They’re extremely well engineered, tend to hold their value, and are fun to drive or track. My first foray into expensive cars was a 997.1 GT3. I enjoyed that car and have missed it since I let it go. Up to this point, I have been a one expensive/exotic car owner. I’m now lucky enough (with some hard work thrown in there) to have two. The hunt is now on for a 991.2 GT3. It has to have a manual, Sport Bucket Seats, PCCBs, lift, and some other goodies. I have found a few that meet this criteria but they are selling pretty quick. And all are commanding over MSRP. Some are a bit crazy on price. I’m willing to pay over (call me crazy) within reason. So, here are some questions I have for those who own one or are Porsche experts/enthusiasts. First, does anyone have a connection or know of a build slot that may somehow be available at or near MSRP. Next, car choices. Both are pre-owned. I’m currently looking at a Racing Yellow with a nice spec. 173K MSRP. Asking price is 209K. Way high in my opinion. It is missing the Leather/Alcantara option and a couple of others. But it has Shark Werks exhaust, clear bra, and clear markers. It can be privately sold to me which saves sales tax here in AZ(about 16K). The other car is Chalk that has a loaded spec. 183K MSRP. Asking 205K. I love the options on this car. It was done almost perfect. Not sure if this one is available private sale. It’s at a dealer but perhaps consigned. I’m going to call and find out. Here’s the dilemma. I like the yellow color a bit better but the options better on the Chalk. Given these two (I have a negotiated price in mind on both), which would you choose and why? The yellow one is missing the leather on the dash and doors. Would you let that stop you from getting this car? Chalk is the most ordered color on the GT3 but I still like it. I don’t know if the options or color will have a bigger bearing on future value. Any ideas? Thanks for reading this far and I look forward to your responses. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! Thank You to all our Vets!
  7. Good Evening everyone. I’m looking into a car (911 GT3) at Exotic Motors. Wondering if our south Florida residents or others have any experience or knowledge about this dealership. From what I can tell, they have high quality inventory. The car I’m interested in I’ll post more about in the Porsche section. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. The P1’s just went up in value.
  9. Cheers to all of the current and future owners. There isn’t a bad spec for this car. Loving all of the color combos and options I’m seeing. Makes me want more than one. Mine will be here mid December via air freight. Back to my roots with Oriancio Borealis—the color my first ‘08 SL.
  10. Love your spec. Congrats! Look forward to hearing your impressions of the car.
  11. Awesome combo. Mine comes in late December to early January. I hope they end up air freighting it over. Lambo will occasionally do that to close a sale before years end. I chose pearl orange but these pics of Parsifae are tempting me to call my sales rep and change colors. That purple just looks so good on the Perf.! Can’t wait to see pics of yours and your brothers. Congrats to you both.
  12. Since you talked your brother out of it, maybe a shade of yellow. You could do yellow with Cepheus calipers. Kind of an inverse take on your SV. Maybe a pearl or matte tone for the paint. The matte grey has really grown on me too. A few different brake calipers would go with that—red comes to mind. Decisions! BTW, great review. Makes me more as excited as delivery day approaches.
  13. Very Nice! Looks a lot like my spec except I went with the diamond cut interior. Good Luck with sale.
  14. I agree wholeheartedly with you about doing our best work when we’re relaxed. It applies in my profession as well. But in this instance, the subs lacked proper supervision because my construction sup was stretched thin and had his hands tied with the ability to remedy problems. He told me so in our conversation yesterday. It’s not just me who is complaining either. Other buyers are upset as well. It sounds like a problem that may or may not be isolated to our community. You’re right, I am picky. It’s the pilot in me. But I’ve always treated those building our home with respect—right down to the guy swinging the hammer. I did not grow up with a lot of money nor am I uber wealthy now. So, when I spend this kind of coin that we’ve worked hard for with a reputable builder, I have certain expectations. I don’t expect perfection but want a quality product. I don’t want Gatorade or beer bottles living in between my walls. I am out at the site 1-3 times a week. I think that is pretty average for someone who lives near the construction. I do appreciate your perspective and we’re still lucky to move into a new home. And, yes, I learn more about construction every time. Have a good weekend.
  15. Looks fantastic. Congrats! I can't wait to hear your driving impressions and see more pics.
  16. Thanks everyone for the replies. Here's an update. I had a meeting with just my construction supervisor today. It was a very candid conversation. As I said earlier, when he came on, things were initially getting better. Then they took a turn for the worse as described. I laid all of the blame squarely on him and went to his supervisor hoping things would get better. As we all know that did not happen. In fact, they got worse. It turns out that my construction supervisor had his hands tied as to the degree he was authorized to fix things and follow the process by his supervisor and the VP of construction I wrote my letter to. Toll Brothers also has had him stretched way out. Two weeks ago, this construction sup threatened to quit Toll Brothers due to their process and lack of customer care. This man has been in the business over 20 years, which by today's standards is quite a while. He had another job lined up and ready to go. The Director of Operations for Arizona contacted the construction supervisor just two nights ago to find out why he was leaving. The construction sup was candid with the man. The Director was less than happy to find out what's been going on in our community. He admitted fault for not being in touch but also said he felt betrayed by the VP of construction I wrote my letter to and my construction sup's superior--the guy I thought had a handle on things. He did not! The Director pleaded for the Sup to stay and implemented immediate change. He gave my sup the autonomy to fix things as he sees fit. Other folks I have met recently are happy with the sup but not Toll and the others. That made no sense to me until today. Many wrote letters as I did. A few had knowledge that he was giving notice. They wrote letters to the Director mentioned above. That was part of what prompted a call to the sup. I did not know he was leaving because I had been dealing with the construction manager. I placed my trust in the wrong person. Every time I pointed something out to him, he promised to inform my construction sup or rectify it himself. This never occurred. The construction sup and I compared texts today and he was not informed of many of my concerns--a lot of the ones I referenced in my initial post. His boss never passed along the information. He was trying to slink out of getting things fixed right. This guy was not good with confrontation either. Every time I met with him, he tried to deflect or just write things down. He was probably doodling. So guys/gals, I was wrong about the sup and I ate crow as I should have. Our text chains compared next to each other confirm what is going on. The VP of construction and my construction manager are in hot water. My sup, I can say is an honest guy. Great conversation. He spent over an hour with me addressing each and every concern my wife and I had. He has authorization and is going to fix all of the issues. He knew about the crooked walls and had already blue taped them! The house had a pleathora of this on his own account and ours. Where to go from here. We will take delivery of the home--that is done right. However, I will be writing the Director a letter outlining everything that has occurred. He is already somewhat aware now thanks to my sup and other owners. Now he is going to hear from me. He probably won't provide a financial remedy but these other two clowns may very well be looking for other jobs. Sorry for the long post. For those that asked, this is our fourth new home build. I know the construction process is far from perfect. Our last build went so well that I expected this one to be even better because of the price point and Toll reputation. I was wrong but learn every time we build. As many of you have pointed out, there is a qualified labor shortage in construction with current high demand. That certainly explains part of it. The other is Toll's soap opera they have going on in AZ. I'll put my .02 cents on that for sure. Thanks again for your input everyone. The good news is the home will be done about a month before the Performante arrives. It will have a nice new garage to live in. In the grand scheme of things, my wife and I are blessed. We have family first, this new home, and a car that kids dreams are made of. Goodnight everyone.
  17. A little background. We live in AZ and placed a deposit on a Toll Brothers build back in February. We really liked the model and bought because of the design and Toll's reputation. Toll is a semi-custom tract builder but it is still a cookie cutter home. Probably a big part of the problem. Sorry for the length of the post but here goes. From the start of construction, the build process has been one mistake after another with some other notable issues. Almost every trade has performed what seems like shoddy work as well. The first issue was as simple as them not forming the foundation correctly. We opted for a 4' garage extension and they had left that out. We caught it, notified the builder, and thought we saved a lot of heartache. Our construction supervisor was let go shortly after this. In came a new one, who appeared to get things on track. The next problem I noticed was that they had put the grounding rod for the electrical panel on the wrong side of the slab. Their solution was to run an ugly copper wire from the electrical box through the base of the exterior wall to an external grounding rod. Said it was within code. Not happy about that. During framing, they put a closet in the wrong place. Both the sup and I caught it and was fixed. Other than that framing appeared to be ok. We now know it wasn't. Will get to that in a bit. We went through our pre-drywall inspection and everything was in place. Drywall was next. During intial drywall, I noticed some wire outlets had been moved from the specified locations. I told the sup and those are yet to be fixed. A notable thing happened during this stage. A worker defecated in one of the bathtubs in my girls future bathroom (I have pictures of this and of all of the other problems). This lit me up. I texted my sup and told him this needs addressed asap. The whole house was somewhat cleaned along with the tub. The rest of the drywall, texture, and paint was completed. The cabinets went in fine. Then the workers mistakenly installed the standard wood shelving in our some of our bedroom closets. We had specified a custom closet system in these rooms. Those had to be torn out damaging the original drywall. The drywall was repaired but they installed the custom closets in before re-painting the wall where the drywall repair had occurred. My sup said it was no big deal and industry practice to do this. They would just paint around the custom closet system. Basically his theory is if you don't see it, then it's ok. This screw up also shows a lack of communication between Toll and its sub-contractors. But wait, there's more. The counters went in next and they put the wrong countertops in our laundry room. Again, a lack of communication and control over the subs. We notified our sup and those are yet to be replaced. They also put an exterior window where we ordered an interior transom window. It looks terrible and we are having to be insistent on that. They're trying to weasel out of fixing that one when the paperwork clearly shows an interior window. In the garage, they installed the railing and doors prior to any paint application. As a result, the rails and hardware now have overspray on them and I want them replaced or cleaned up. They are custom high rise doors so I can put a lift in both of the garages. Sup says it's a normal order of doing things. I disagree and told him this was a first in a build for me. Fighting over that one. In goes the plumbing. Well, here's another disgusting thing that happens. The plumber blew his nose on my garage wall just above the soft water loop. It's evident. I take a picture and now call my sup's boss. He assures me that they will scrub the wall and retexture, etc. Moving outside, the drive and pavers are installed front and back. In our front courtyard, the pavers are uneven with a wave pattern. They're supposed to slope to two drainage ducts. Sup notified and yet to be fixed. We also noticed a clean out drain pipe that is slightly protruding from the exterior foundation stem wall. Sup says that is normal and not a big deal. They flask over it with some cement and paint the stem wall. Back to the the inside and to the last few days. Drywall repairs and final coat of paint in progress. They install our window shutters before final paint application--right over unpainted drywall repairs. Face plant. Sup knows and said it was done without his approval. More damage to original drywall to come. They have to remove the shutters, fix the drywall, paint, and put new shutters in. Another problem with control over subs. Finally, back to the framing we thought was ok. Today, we noticed a wall completely out of square in a powder room that was not too well lit during the process. A couple of others are this way as well but not as blatant. Throughout the process the workers have left their trash all over the inside and outside of the house. This includes half-eaten food with accompanying ants. They tried to leave beer bottles, Gatorade bottles, etc. in the walls during the framing process. Fortunately, I was out there quite a bit and disposed of them myself. So, this is where we are now. Under three weeks to our first walk through. I just wrote the VP of construction a letter earlier this week outlining all of the problems we have had. He does not know about the out of square walls and the sup has not noticed them. I give him an even more thorough rundown than I have here. He asks how he can rectify the situation. I told to him that if we knew the process was going to be this difficult and stressful, we would have never bought this home. I tell him that in addition to fixing all of the issues, a financial incentive towards the house was in order. He replies that the house is not done and that he's not inclined to provide a financial incentive. He promises to deliver a home in perfect condition. Again, he does not know of the messed up walls. We plan on waiting to the walk through to point this out. There are a couple of other big issues we know about as well. Do you all think we have any legal recourse? I have pictures of all of the defects including the gross incidents. I have thought of threatening him with the BBB, media, and Registrar of Contractors. I don't think a reduction in price of the home is out of bounds or a full refund of our deposit. Thoughts from gallery--especially those in the construction industry or law. Thanks a bunch!
  18. Congrats! I think we have the same dealer, Lambo NB. They should have their demo. I'm going to have to visit and take it for a drive while I wait for mine. Look forward to seeing pics of your Perf. 👍
  19. Finally, they've come. Congrats! Look forward to seeing your spec. Can't wait for mine to arrive in Dec.
  20. I heard the same today from my dealer. Government (NHTA) still has a hard on for VAG from diesel gate. Apparently they're still certifying the Perf. for US sales because they can--even though it's a variant of the Huracan. Complete BS.
  21. I know of one variant that has appreciated--but very little. The LP560-2's were all manuals and very limited in number. They're msrp was anywhere from 207-213. Most are trading hands around 215-225. I kind of still kick myself for letting mine go but you only live once and the V12 spoke to me. I'm in for a Perfromante and think it will certainly depreciate long term. But I'll enjoy the heck out of it while it's in my garage. 👍
  22. While I disagree with any type of pro-longed conflict over there, I see this as a strong move. The message was not only for the Syrians. China, Russia, and primarily North Korea have been put on notice that we're not going to put up with their B.S. We'll use diplomacy first and when appropriate but won't hesitate to act if our line in the sand is crossed. Reagan would be proud!
  23. And it's glossed forged. I actually like it. Looked good on the car I saw. Thinking about making the interior bits gloss forged if they'll do it.
