I just picked one up from Ben Bridge Jewlers, Retail. i guess I was lucky

I felt just as lucky when I got mine @ retail, but then someone told me that rolex had upped the production and to expect them at retail from now on... :(

Well maybe so but they are still hard to come by, I am really happy with this watch,I've had the white face daytona for about 3 years but I have always wanted the black face know that I have both I think the black face is hotter.

Daytona's are pretty much available here in Europe at retail - now Rolex have switched to an in house movement they dont have the problem of Zenith controlling capacity.

I've had four Daytona's over the years (all sold at a profit) - people are mad to pay over retail for this watch.

Frankly it isnt worth the money at retail never mind over retail.

Rolex make more watches a DAY than many, better, companies make a YEAR.

I predict Daytona values will fall in coming years due to over-supply and the fact that people will wake up to "quality" brands - plus the fact that at 40mm the watch is getting to be on the small side!

Serious question-- What makes a "better" company? Which ones are they?

Better?

Well, the big3 are always an option....

Patek Philippe

Audemars Piguet

Vacheron et Constantin

And the small ones...

F.P. Journe / Winston

Vianney Halter

Svend Andersen

And the germans....

A. Lange & Söhne

Just to name a few... ;)
