Thought 100K was the going price for these cars up until very recently....

What's up with the Diablo engine story seems hard to believe to me since this LM002 dates back to '89...???

Later cars (LM002 America?) had the FI Diablo engine.

I knew that but that wasn't the case in '89 as far as I know... so maybe the Diablo engine was fitted afterwards.

Also the wheels don't match the LM002 America since I think these came with the alloy rims.

LM002 Americas were like 1992's if I remember correctly, and yes, they had alloys. This seems to just be a 1989 with a newer engine. With that dealer, well I wouldn't trust the stuff in the ad. Unless someone can prove otherwise, with documentation, I'd assume it just had the engine replaced at some point. Yes, it's overpriced, and if you're interested I'd go see it in person, and proceed with caution.

As for the ex-Tina Turner LM with the Merc engine, that thing has been for sale for YEARS - And will be for many many more at the price they wanted for it the last time I noticed.

Found it interesting to see a '89 with Diablo engine. First guess is an engine replacement.

I asked the dealer for the engine number, if no match we now for sure....

Sorry, I didn't look at the ad to see it was an '89. Nevermind. :icon_mrgreen:

Just received an answer from the dealer; vin and engine numbers are supposed to be matching...

That's strange if it's really an '89 car.
