2010_Lotus-Eagle.jpg

Apparently an image was leaked early...

Here's the deal on the car:

- Bigger than an Elise/Exige

- Has back seats but I believe I read they can be removed for cargo space as an option

- Has a Toyota Camry 3.5l V6 (yes, I know...)

- Roadster version will be released at a later time

- Cost will probably be around $75k

- Will be in US about a year from now

I'm guessing it will weigh not more than 2500 lbs and I'm hoping for less because it appears to still be a very small vehicle.

Conclusion: A purist's 911, injected with Lotus DNA. Put one on my Christmas list.

I love it, lotus is making a move in the right direction thank god. Cant wait to see what they do with the interior, maybe spruce it up a bit unlike the elise how its so bare. I love the elise, just wish the interior was more like my esprit.

The interior will definitely be there. There is no way it will resemble an Elise inside!!! :)

Lotus knows that is what makes the Elise/Exige such a niche car.

I'm not saying you will get a Lexus interior and I sure hope we don't, but it will be relatively comfy. It'd be an extreme failure otherwise.

where is the Esprit :(

The Esprit is next. Actually, this Eagle was really the Esprit project, but somehow it became a spin-off. That's the rumor anyways.

Expect the Esprit to utilize the new BMW twin-turbo 4.4l V8 with upwards of 500 hp.

Yum...

Looks like shit, uninspiring, underpowered, eco-happy sports-car, we've waited for so fcuking long and have gotten NOTHING, shit.

Sorry, but it's terrible.

King-640, you sound like a guy who wants an Esprit. :P Think of the Eagle as more of a 911 Carrera counterpart. The 2011 Esprit will be the big ticket supercar you desire.

He has done photoshops in other colors as well, so if you have a request, just ask.

Oh, this isn't the Esprit's replacement? Sorry then, my bad! :icon_mrgreen:

elise + f430 = this.

True, there are many similarities to the F430. Notably the intake ducts....

they should of made the m250 - i put a deposit down on that it was real nice -

I'm absolutely infatuated with the M250. This is actually the incarnation of the M250 concept.

I will reserve judgment until I see more photos.

BTW, forgot to mention. Faster versions will be coming out. This is the base version. There will be supercharged versions released in the future.

Did anyone else notice that this looks nothing like the released photo from lotus of the car under a cover. There are no low lights on the photo as there is under the cover?

Eagle = meh, ever since it was announced. Only a Lotus fan could approve.

Bring on the next Esprit, give me a reason to pay attention.

I did notice. One possibility is that those low lights are just dealer-installed options like they are on the Elise/Exige, so the car wouldn't have them from the factory. Another is that Lotus was faking us out...

:iamwithstupid:

And bring it with the TT Bmw motor and a strong transmission.
