Just Purchased a Ford Gt

Well, I never thought I would buy a sports car in Vancouver. Because of strict rules, you cand speed and enjoy the cars. Maybe thats normal to you guys but in Turkey we dont have that problem. I spend 6 months in Istanbul and 6 months in Vancouver in a year. This year I really wanted to bring my LP640 to Vancouver and I was really excited about it. But I was told that because I am preminant resident, I dont have right to bring my car here. I didnt want to import it because I already paid 115% tax in Turkey. I just wanted to bring it temporarily. I was dissapointed that I couldnt bring it to Vancouver. Thats why I decided to buy a Ford GT. Its 2006 and has 3500 miles on it. I really liked it. Although it was my first day with the car, it gave me excitement. And I am happy with it. But I couldn't enyoj the car much because of rules, thats so boring. I guess I have to get used to it.

After spending some time with the car, Iwant to make some modifications to the engine. Thought about making it a TT but if I do, its just going to be a race car and I can't drive it daily. I dont mean to drive everyday but 3 or 4 times a week. I am thinking of upgrading headers, pulley, air filters, programming, throttle body and exhaust system which makes the car about 750 hp. My first choice is Heffner. There are couple of options available. What do you think? Is it worth to do it? And any other suggestions?

Here are couple shots I got today. Will post more and better pictures soon.

Congratulation, the GT is a awesome ride. Follow your instinct and do a 650-750 Hp upgrade, then you can still use it as a DD. Nice combo with the LP 640 :icon_thumleft:

Thank you. I think I ll do it :icon_super: First I need to spend some time with it.

How do you like that bad-ass muscle car exhaust!? How's the build quality on the GT's?

If you did TT it you could still use it daily. Mine is TT and made 904rwhp through the stock exhaust and that's how I drive it nearly all the time. It is very docile and there is no loss of driveability. The only downside is cost.

I previously had the pulley and tune from Heffner and the car ran 133 mph in the 1/4. There have been several GT's with stock tires and nothing but the p/t that have run 10's at over 135 mph. If you add the extras like exhaust and throttle body, you will have a car capable of near 200 in a standing mile, as John Mehovitz's car went 194 with said mods. Very easy to make very fast.

Well, I am using Tubi on my LP640 and stock sound of GT is anywhere near that. Because I get used to sound of lambo and tubi , I fell like it doesnt make such noise. But I will upgrade the exhaust system A.S.A.P.

Quality :eusa_think: I always compare it with LP640. If I didnt use LP640 I would say different things. The quality is not so bad. You feel that its a super car. But, the feeling in LP640 is priceless :icon_super:

Yeah, 100%. My car has 14,000 miles on it and it's retained the same driveability at every level. Stock, 600rwhp, 900rwhp.

It easy tremendously easy to just spend a few grand and be done with it.

You've already won half the battle by having a car that didn't come with the awful subwoofer! Lower it, get exhaust, pulley and tune and youre in business. OOPS! I forgot, get floormats!

I already ordered a key case, aliminum seat rings and custom floor mats in the first day I bought the car. The keys suck! They are like Ford Escort keys. I'm glad I found solution. Will do the other stuff later on. Here are the pictures.

CONGRATS!!!

Definitely be worth the trip to experience a TT GT for yourself before you spend any money. I have two of my GTs with twin turbos.. another in progress and one I am leaving alone just because I won't drive it (sub 100 mile car)...

During regular driving, it feels exactly the way Ford designed it... Open the throttle up, and it feels exactly the way Ford SHOULD have designed it :D

When we took mine up for the Car & Driver Competition, the Ford design team was able to inspect it, drive it... and they LOVED it.. all we heard on the radio from the Ford Test Pilot was giggles as he took it around the Dearborn test track... oh... and "DAMN" :D

Best conversion hands down.

Congrats again!!

Thank you. If I get a chance I'd like to drive one before doing anything. My first plan is to upgrade whipple, headers, exhaust system etc. But I will not do anything until I consider all available choices.
