There was alot of questions as to the reason behin the crash. Insurance claim etc etc.....

I just realised that the owner "Andy House is the owner of Performance Auto Sales, which sells repaired exotic:

Could it be publicity stunt to promote himself and his affiliaciations? No doubt this became worldwide hot topic.

Below is his New Veyron...

story from jalopnik.com

As you'll remember, Andy House of Lufkin, Texas made crazy news late last year when he crashed his million-dollar-plus car into a lagoon near Galveston. Then things went from crazy to bonkers when video of the car actually crashing emerged on the internet. The video spawned all sorts of questions about what "really" happened to the car — specifically whether it'd been trashed for insurance money.

At the time, House said of the Veryon "it is by far the nicest car that I have ever owned, looking to replace it now!" Showing a surprisingly good sense of humor for someone whose mistake behind the wheel became a web sensation, he sent us this photo with a note:

Matt, just wanted to let you know that I have purchased this 2008 Bugatti last Friday and thought you might want to post an update on your site. Thanks

Thank you, Andy. Just do us all a favor and get a hands-free cell phone.

It's also only fair to point out this seems to counter the theory he did this for the insurance money as we're guessing the replacement Bugatti cost a pretty penny.

Well with the shitstorm that video created, even if it was originally for insurance $, wouldnt YOU ditch that plan once a video surfaced?

Just say fcuk it, take the money and buy another to somewhat kill that suspicion

idk

Probably........or play along to surpress the scrutiny.

Now the qtn is, what happened to the sunk veyron & as to weather he'll be profitting from the salvage sale of the sunk veyron since his expertise IS selling repaired exotics ?

I suppose it'll be a similar senario to the likes of the crashed Eddie Grif Enzo or the drowned 007 Aston DBS where it became a collector piece....well sort of......

I cant imagine, with the amount of technology and electrnoics in the veyron, that it would ever be cost effective to try and salvage a drowned Veyron....just too many things in that car that will probably never work the same or need to be replaced.

Isn't that one of the seized Scott Rothstein Veyron's?

Yeah, that pic is of one of the ones that was at the dealership several of his cars were at... I'm just trying to figure out how it got released so soon if it was seized... Or if someone is just using a pic from eBay when it was on there.
