One of the least thought out platitudes I frequently hear. First, this halfassed line completely ignores the war that would have to be fought to eliminate "national pride" and religion, that would necessarily result in 95percent of the world's population who believe in both being killed by the 5 percent who actually believe crap like this.

 

Second, it ignores the last 92 years of history that shows the NON nationalistic, Borderless, anti-religion global communist movement which was responsible for more war and bloodshed than all the religious loving' flag wavers COMBINED.

 

But it sounds good on a bumper sticker. And that's all that really matters.

It really varies on how you are brought up in this country. I grew up in a very liberal city (Chicago) and I am conservative and patriotic (I am an officer in the Air Force).

 

There are plenty people who live in the USA and completely despise it though. These people have also, generally, never lived in another country, especially not a third world one with a communist or dictator type government.
