Generally on a like for like car in terms of miles and year is the SL worth more than a Spyder.

Was just comparing my Orange Spyder (07) with a white SL (08) and there is a fairly big price hike... is that right? Any thoughts?

08 Spyder I wouls say would be about even, seems with the 560 SL's coming out the 08 SL's are dropping a bit or just the fact that more are popping up. Options/miles obv will make the difference. Just my .02

A year different. And you dont say what the mileages are. That does seem a little high but the SL is more rare. Just depends what it's worth to you

Perhaps it's because the SL is 1 year newer, and the production numbers for Spyders are much higher than the SL (especially a white SL, very limited in white).

also desirability plays into a factor. spyders are not as desirable as coupe, not to mention SL. having said that, SL prices are continuing to drop as new LP570 is out now.

I tend to disagree with the new SL effecting the old SL pricing. The new SL loaded is over 280K US.

Used low mileage SL's are holding steady at 140 - 150's.

If anything, used 560's will potentially impact the ols SL values more.

BTW, an 08 SL is a more aggressive driving car than an 07 spider...worth the upgrade if that is your thing!

I assume the $25k difference is you Trading in the car for the SL at the dealer?

Worth giving a specialist like Dion at www.elmscollection.com a call. He'll be able to get you a better price for your Spyder, then source a SL with less mark up than a main dealer. Top guy to deal with.
