:vom: X5 is better looking IMO.

I believe I read in this months MT that there's going to be a full size SUV from both MB (R-class I think) & BMW (X7)

It looks a lot better then the current one anyway. Hopefully it drives better too.

They will be bringing out a new G-class as well.

Don't like it.

The Silver posted by jim looks quite similar to a Volvo SUV.

A friend of mine had the old style M430? Or maybe it was an M320? Either way, in the first year he owned it, it went back to the Dealer 4 times. MB quality is not what it used to be.

Lame, I'd never buy one. Give me a good ole' Dodge Ram Quad cab 1500 over any of these tarted-up-station-wagons any day of the week.

MB ML quality is notoriously questionable. Especially early production years when the american factory was first set up. The first batches of cars 97 and 98's (I think?) had horrible oil burning issues and MB actually had to relpace engines under warranty and extend the engine warranty much like E46 M3 bearing issues.

The ML55 06 car looks a lot better with the body kit. 500bhp as well. The reviews of the new ML have been very good. Right now the consensus in the UK press is that the Merc has knocked the X5 off the top spot in terms of ride and quality.
