Assman Report post Posted March 5, 2011 So I see this BMW mule in town and snap a couple of pictures. The astute viewer of the pictures will notice the people with picket signs. Occationally in town people picket in front of the government center on certain issues. These people are picketing against budget cuts and are saying budget cuts hurt schools. Why don't these fcuking people stop picketing and go the fcuk home and take some responsibility for educating their own kids? Why don't the get to work and generate some money for tutoring and or tax revenue for the state so there don't have to be budget cuts. They'd rather picket and then go out and have beers and bitch and moan while I"m working my ass off generating tax revenue to pay for their lazy stupid asses. fcuk them. They probably are bitching about almost losing the overpriced homes they bought on ARM's but then getting principal reduction while my house is worth 300k less than i paid for it and i didn't get any goddamn reduction, but couldn't get a fcuking re-fi because the house isn't worth enough that the fcuking bank doesn't think my perfect credit and perfect on time payments on this home somehow are now a risk for re-fi. fcuk them too. There is also a big initiative in the county for a medi-cal HMO. Apparently according to the newspaper there are over 100000 people on medical out of 700000 people in Ventura county. Okay, the poor do need health care even though the system is jacked up. Why are these people having 6 or 8 kids. They can barely afford to take care of themselves, let alone 6 fcuking kids that I have to pay to raise before a few of them come and rob my house, or steal my car or take a disproportionate amount of government help. Of the 100000 people mentioned, someone bitched that there was not proper representation for the 60000 of them who speak spanish. WHat country do we live in? 60000 people who don't speak English and want to be catered to. How about learning English, how about taking some responsibility. fcuk. ok, rant over. I feel better now. Lambo91 Report post Posted March 5, 2011 rioting is very serious offense here, they throw you in jail and fine you heavily...so nobody dare to riot..its a good thing.
TheFilipinoStig Report post Posted March 5, 2011 They have every right to. Doesn't make them right. But I'd go to war for their right to protest. (Big difference between that and rioting, btw - which IS illegal). Education is screwed in this country. Until we put that as a high priority, (which it is NOT), we are not going to be competitive, won't make any money, and sure as hell won't come out of debt anytime soon. pockmark Report post Posted March 5, 2011 I have 2 comments- 1)We should not give ANY government handouts to anyone who is not a legal citizen of the United States. Before anyone says anything I am a second generation Cuban, and my grandfather and father came here not knowing English and became citizens in 1959. 2)We should not give government handouts to felons unless they have PROVEN that they have changed their lives for the better. No welfare, no subsidized homes, no schooling, no healthcare. NOTHING. This will make them get their act together and play by the rules. It would however be political suicide for whomever passed it, but it is needed. It would cut budgets, class sizes, wait times in hospitals, tenfold. lee Report post Posted March 5, 2011 Don´t quite understand your issue, budget cuts are a must however there are better and much more needed places to cut then education, so imho they are right.

Jpegs13 Report post Posted March 5, 2011 Years ago we needed unions because of the mistreatment by employers. Now, they've become a burden. The cost of pension and benefits are crippling employers. Unions were the downfall of the US auto industry, steel industry and so many others. Hence the "farming and subcontracting" to other countries. Teachers, on the other hand are way too underpaid. They groom the future of this and other countries. When a sanitation worker makes more than a teacher, the system is broken. Assman Report post Posted March 5, 2011 No welfare, no subsidized homes, no schooling, no healthcare. NOTHING. Mike, you have to give something. There's a political theory that basically states you have to take care of the poor at least enough that they are satiated enough that they won't come and take what they want. If you starve them too much they won't up and work harder, they'll come and take what they want. Problem is that there's a societal sickness that think people think they're entitled to have everything. THey believe they should have an iphone and drive a 10mpg tahoe etc but not pay a penny for their health care or educating their kids. Hell I recently heard a story of someone on Medi-cal who had a 10000 dollar boobjob and tummy tuck in beverly hills. WTF?!?!?! Don´t quite understand your issue, budget cuts are a must however there are better and much more needed places to cut then education, so imho they are right. Lee, the politicians decide where the budget cuts come out of. The problem I find is that these people don't understand that education begins in the home. For instance we make sure our kids are well educated. They are at least ahead of their grade level in education. My 4 year old daughter reads books and my 6 year old reads at a 3rd grade level. They both do math as well. They go to a local public magnet school. This particular school has some of the highest scores in the area. The reason isn't that the school is so great it's that the parents are very involved with the kid's education. If you are going to pop out kids, you have to be ready to sacrifice whatever it takes to raise them, otherwise, don't reproduce. Boner Report post Posted March 5, 2011 In my city, the average household income is 48k. The average teacher gets close to this. So, they get twice what the average citizen gets paid and they get the summer off. If its that fcuking bad, they should fcuking get a better fcuking job. Here is the problem. People are animals. They fcuk, shit, and kill. Law is set in place to prevent this. But, when populations get to where we are...when people take through laws and voting what we want to prevent.....we will kill. I don't know what in the hell he had against me, but he was holding up a sign with my name on it in some sort of silent protest. Punched him right in the fcuking face. Protesters piss me off. Juice it Report post Posted March 6, 2011 The problem with teachers isn't the pay, its the unions protecting the shitty teachers instead of canning them. To many teachers care less about the job since they know they can't be fired. If the unions were gone and teachers kept jobs based on merit you would start to weed out the poor teachers and people can start learning again. Yeah, that's the problem. I think we are going downhill even faster than some countries. It's like a guy that's fucked too many girls or had too many cars. After awhile, we get to the "this isn't working" phase faster and faster. I don't think we are much different than Peru in 72. Only difference between us and a third world county is we don't have inflation....yet. I'm not going to have denial on our problems. Boner Report post Posted March 6, 2011 we can't get better teachers until we pay them better. What I was saying is that a teacher here is already paid twice the average income of the private sector job. And, they get the fourth of the year off. And, they get paid more to retire than to work. If it is soooooo bad, they should get a better job. Truth is, they cant. I think this would not be an issue had we stopped taxes at highways, military, and education. Kaz2 Report post Posted March 6, 2011 Milton Friedman's voucher system (www.edchoice.org) is probably the best solution, schools will still be 'free' but it will introduce competition to the monopolistic teachers unions (www.teachersunionexposed.com) which would improve teacher quality and reduce cost immediately. Roman Report post Posted March 6, 2011 we can't get better teachers until we pay them better. Its amazing what private school can accomplish while paying the teachers far less than they get paid in public school.

Hell I recently heard a story of someone on Medi-cal who had a 10000 dollar boobjob and tummy tuck in beverly hills. WTF?!?!?! Raj, not sure which of my points this is in response to. Challenge was we didn't take care of the problem with more focus earlier with regards to immagration, and now were fucked. We need immagrants from all nations in the US. We need all of them to pay taxes though as well. It is a win-win. They get paid fairly, are offered benefits for full time workers, They and their kids would get all benefits of being a citizen, and can be productive members of society by paying taxes. My wife has been a teacher for 6 years. I have vehemently opposed her joining the teachers union and she hasn't. The ones who "need" to be part of the union "need" to be fired because they use it so they can be lazy and not do their fcuking job. With regards to my previous post regarding felons, if you were worried that if you shot someone your welfare checks and section 8 checks weren't going to come in, you would think twice about your families future.
