Italy In April... Suggestions

Gonna be in Venice, Florence and Rome... What to see.. where to go.. Eat... Sex club to take my wife to?

I can't remember the name of the famous plaza in rome with the fountain but that is pretty awesome and there are some really good Gelato shops around there. I did not get to go to Venice while I was out there but that should be pretty amazing. If you get the chance, the isle of Capri is pretty amazing!

Yes, Trevi Fountain, been there.. Im looking for the spots unknown to the avg tourist.. And yes, I love the Gelato Im gonna come back way fatter than I already am!

The train from Rome to Venice is fantastic, I loved it. Obviously in Rome you have to see the forum (I didn't get to see it when I was there, I regret that). Rome's got tons of family restaurants around the Vatican, which is where I stayed, all of the places I ate at were good; there was this one seafood place (can't think of the name) that was the best food I had there, it's a few blocks from the Vatican on the North side. For Venice, the first day I would just walk around and explore everything, I love that place.

 

Were you thinking of the Trevi Fountain or the Piazza Navona Chipster?

Sienna is more interesting than Florence.

If you want to take a nice drive, go from Sienna to Bagni Di Lucca, the scenery, and the roads are amazing.

We stayed right at the Trevi(Hotel Fontana DI Trevi) and we were central to everything.

 

Going east from Rome into the Mountains also offers some amazing drives.

In rome keep your hand on your wallet at all times, otherwise it'll be gone.

In Venice, there is only one nightclub worth going to, ask the desk at Danielli and they will guide you there, just dont get lost on the way home like I did

Ideas:

 

Rome: Hostoria di Pietro, it's near the Piazza di Poppolo. ( The best zucchini flowers on the planet). At the end of the meal you'll get a huge block of chocolate with a chopping block and a bottle of grappa and limoncello.

A must visit is the bar/restaurant at the DeRussi hotel. Tons of beautiful people.

 

Venice:

La Centrale (sp?) it of course is a fish place with high ceilings, exposed duct work, very unique for Venice.

 

Florence:

Cocktails outside at the Savoy, an absolute must do. great place to people watch right in the heart of shopping at the Piazza de Repubblica.

 

Forget Sienna, too touristy, go to Lucca instead. A beautiful walled city with some amazing sites and very few people. GREAT OLIVE OIL!

Allan, go to this restaurant in Rome. Not know by tourists unless recommended by locals or by people that know Rome well.

Of course you must like fish. It is one of the best places to eat fish in Rome, raw and cooked.

Have you gone inside and done the tour at the Borghese? That place is fantastic, especially the gardens around it. IIRC there was a Ferrari dealer not too far from there also, lol.

Also, something different to do in Rome..

Go to Vespers at the Knights of Malta at the piazza del Malta di Cavalieri next to St. Anselmo across the street from the Eqyptian Embassy. Very medieval and if you look through the large keyhole in the door, it's an amazing sight. ( Not porn ya perv, just fcuking do it)

 

Catacombs at the Vatican..must see

 

Private tour of the Sistine Chapel ( your concierge has to arrange it), no mass crowds and a cool explaination of all the artwork

 

How are you getting from city to city?

When I april?

 

I am going to Be up near Milan the 3,4,5. I was thinking about making it a week in the North, since I am living in the south. Possibly going to Visit Venice and Bologna while I am there also.

As said you can't go wrong your staying in great places, email with the concierges to get stuff we up,

 

-we had a great time staying in the countryside in tuscany, there are great villas and bed and breakfast all around the diff regions. Tour vineyards etc. We enjoyed some downtime relaxing there.
